Satsang with Mohanji

Q: Why is it important to bless? I almost tended to put my hand down during this part of meditation.
A: It is important to bless because one way of reducing your burden of life is through forgiveness. So when you bless somebody, even if you do not like him, you are unhooking from a situation or a person. It is very important to do when you are conscious and alive in daily life. And then what happens is you will feel very light, very easy, life becomes smoother. And body will always give you uneasiness so that you want to keep your head down. This is provoked by the mind. Mind likes to hold on to emotions, especially hurt from the past, mind likes to carry it. If somebody hurts you, you will definitely remember. If somebody loves you, we sometimes forget it. Hatred is nurtured in mind while love is almost always forgotten, unless externally supplied constantly. We need re-assurance to maintain love towards somebody. We do not need any external stimuli to nurture hatred. The nature of mind is like that. All people are the same in every country. We like to carry hurt. Emptying our mind is very difficult. This is why blessing and forgiving is very important.
Q: What does it mean if some numbness happen in my fingers during meditation?
A: There are a lot of energy movements happening during this meditation. A lot of cleansing happens and blockages are removed. Our memory is not only in the brain. Brain is just translating or manifesting our memories that lay stored in many locations of our system. You can trace it on the cellular level as well. Many of the effects of our life go into the cellular level, into various parts of the body. We can actually cleanse it effectively. But the effect of cleansing depends on us. Some people do not like to be healed. They like to have a disease so that they can nurse it. There are people who say they want to be healed but they do not do anything about it. We are unique combinations. People will ask, Who wants sickness!? But there are some people who want sickness. So while practising meditation you should let go completely. Free yourself. Use the chance to remove as much as possible, and you will see the effect in the days ahead. It will feel wonderfully light, cleansed, and also you will become more powerful. The maximum energy we spend is through our eyes. And probably equal amount of energy through our mind. All other faculties do not spend that much energy. When we pray or meditate we close our eyes so that we go within, the energy circulate within so that we communicate with the higher. And mind uses energy more when it goes to the past, especially handling guilt, or to the future while handling anxiety. Try to understand yourself. Start feeling every vibration of yours. Once you start feeling, understanding yourself, you’ll understand the whole world outside. The best way to understand the world is to understand yourself. Because you are a powerful universe yourself.
Q: I cried a lot.
A: It is important to let go. You did the right thing. Tears are not because of sorrow. They are out of joy of release. Do not confuse the tears of sorrow and tears of release. When you feel things are moving out, you may cry out of happiness. This is a very good sign because you are actually open for a change.
Q: There are people who have a problem but they refuse to accept that. How to coax them so that they ask for help and solve the problem?
A: During the waking hours we express all our conditioning, all our character, all our emotions. This is the time when we compare ourselves with other people, or situations and say there is something wrong with us. Whenever we compare ourselves with another person we consider ourselves as something lower or lesser. We never compare ourselves with somebody who suffers more. We always want to look at someone who is rich and happy and think ”this is how I should be”. This is the main reason why we never find happiness. If a person decides he can never find happiness, nobody can help him. Happiness is a state of mind. Somebody sent me a clipping this morning, I saw a man who didn’t have anything to eat. He went to the restaurant on the side of a highway and asked for something to eat. They said ok, do some work and we will give you food. They gave him one poster where it was written ‘food is ready’, and they told him to stand on the road and bring them guests. And they gave him a red shirt so that people can see him. So he stood there in the hot sun, and many people came to eat. After five hours, he finished his job. They gave him one packet of food and he went home. When he reached home his wife was waiting, he shared his food with his wife, and the cat and then he had got one toffee from a small child while he was standing in the sun. After the food he gave this to his wife. She was very happy. He ate half of it and gave him half. They were both sitting outside looking at the setting sun. So happiness depends on us. Some people will never be happy because they choose not to be happy. But for some people, one toffee makes them really happy 🙂 So happiness is a state of mind.
Q: During meditation I feel as if I felt asleep, I don’t hear some parts, and after the meditation I feel full heart and bliss.
A: Is it good or bad?
Q: Good, obviously.
A: If you want to sleep, sleep. The fundamental of spirituality is be natural. I’ll give you my example. Many years ago, I went to Himalayas. I was working in Dubai at that time. My job was in Europe, mainly Germany, Italy and France. After twenty-one days of work I decided to stay back another one week, I went straight to Himalayas. I’ve heard of one ashram, a hermitage. I decided to meditate all these seven days. I arrived at this place at 6am. I had some breakfast, sat for meditation and slept. I woke up at 1 o’ clock, sat again and slept. In the evening at 5 o’clock they have certain chanting and I participated, then we had dinner, so I told the saint in the ashram, ”I don’t think I will sleep tonight because I slept all day.” There was only one room where the main slept. There were only two beds. As there was no other space, I came without announcing, I slept with this man who was a saint. I took a book from a library thinking, ”I will not sleep anyway, so let’s read.” I don’t even remember reading one page. I slept. In the morning I saw the lights on and I was looking for the other one, I couldn’t see him on the bed. I thought maybe everybody went to some temple or other place and I missed it. Then I saw this man standing upside down doing yoga. So I didn’t want him to see me I’m awake and I turned to the other side and slept again, ha, ha. I did this for three days. Then I asked there the main saint of the ashram, ”Why am I not able to meditate?” He said, ”You should not meditate. Flow with the nature of the body first. Once you become completely in tune with your body, then the body will behave. Like when you train a horse, you get accustomed to it. But if you try to twist an arm of your body, it will not work.“
Q: When I was at the meditation for the first time, I was full of fear, and I couldn’t close my eyes. Then I you told me to close my eyes and I got courage and it was wonderful, I was so happy. Now I have the experience of energy, it was much stronger and deeper than happiness. I saw dark blue colour.
A: This is good.
Q: I felt the waves of energy, white or something all around me, at one moment I saw the whole planet Earth, when it was time to bless, I blessed the whole planet. Then a pyramid appeared and a golden circle, it was you? It was my perception of the universe, everything was open, dark but open.
A: I’ll explain the message. So many things… This is really, really beautiful. The experiences which you went through now were ready to express. It just needed silence to feel it. At certain points in time, past, present and future become one point. At those times people experience things which they do not normally experience. And the factor which always keeps us away from the reality is the mind. Mind gives a distorted vision of the whole universe. I’ll give you one example. Everybody will see a crow as black. But the crow attacks an eagle which is much larger in size than the crow. Have you ever thought why can’t the eagle attack the crow or destroy it? The point is the crow has its colour dazzling silver, blinding completely when it comes near. This is one sign that what we see is not always real. But at certain points in time we will stop using our eyes and we will start using much larger faculty which is present in us. Then it’s a completely different reality. It’s so beautiful. In English we always ask, “Do you see what I see?“ That is the question we should ask ourselves, “Do we see what we should see?“ Is it the picture that the mind gives you or are we seeing the reality. In your case you can be very proud because I don’t think you have done many practices to reach this stage so the seed of this reality is already within you. It takes a lot of practice to reach this situation. So now, how to maintain it? Go to your spine more, feel your spine more. I am not even asking you to meditate, I am asking you to feel. Because then you are not dependent on the eyes, nose, or mouth or ears. You are more dependent on the feeling. And truth is always delivered by the third eye. If you have to see the truth, you have to use the third eye. And when you are operating through your spine, it does not matter which part of your spine, anywhere. Your vision or your capacity to see will be from the third eye. Only one word of caution: your dependency on the Earth and the things around you will reduce. The more you depend on your spine, the more powerful you become inside, so whatever happens outside will not touch you.
The golden light which you saw where you saw me means aura. All the people who have psychic ability who have eyes to see, more or less like you, can see that when we deliver shaktipat, everybody’s aura becomes gold. I walk the path of liberation. Liberation means you can believe in any religion, you can believe in any master, you can believe in any god, but fundamentally, all are the same, all are one. So what we feel as different does not exist. Difference is a projection of our mind. You feel you are separate from me because you feel you have another body. Just think you are not the body, you are not you mind, you are not you intellect, and you think you are just energy, what is the difference between us? We are one consciousness, same energy. This is the fundamental of liberation. All is one and feel it all the time. This is the golden path of liberation. Either you are complete whole consciousness or you are not. It has nothing to do with how many hours you meditate or how many churches or temples you visit, or which religion you follow, these are all not important. You can go to any temple, any church, any god, anything you like, but internally we are all connected. We are living with this complete feeling. The advantage is that we are never separate from the whole universe and we feel it, we are complete that way. The golden aura is the aura of higher masters. It is beyond white. So keep growing.
There are two signs which you can actually depend on to know your progress.
One is silence, how silent you are peaceful within. Whatever happens outside, you are peaceful inside. It is NOT sensitiveness, like, ok, let somebody die and I don’t care. That is not the case. It’s that you feel but you are not affected. You will do whatever you can, but you are not affected by anything outside you.
Second is, fearlessness. You will become fearless. You will not know what the meaning of fear is because you are so complete within, it doesn’t matter. Do you know how fearless Jesus was? He knew very well who his enemies are and how powerful they are. But he never cared, because of the power of conviction. The power of oneness.
So silence and fearlessness, these are two things you can trust. These are signs of spiritual growth. You can be fearless in two ways. One is that the person is a total idiot, he is fearless. Because he doesn’t know what fear is. Otherwise you are highly spiritual. You are in total control of every vibration of your body, heartbeat, circulation, respiration, and you hear the talk of every cell and then you become fearless. This is real, it will never change. It’s wonderful.
Q: I had severe pains in my neck because I had an accident in 2008. Now it is much more tolerable but during the meditation the pain comes back. I would also add what we discussed, that in the morning the heaviest feelings come to us. It is the same with me, the moment I wake up I have the heaviest thoughts of the accident. When I get up, it disappears. How to get rid of that so that one can get up well and live a beautiful life?
A: We explained the parts of day… the subtlest sattwic 3-6am, rajas for action 6am-3am, and the most inert tamas 3pm-3am… We already discussed that. Since this is the situation of energy, now you try to put yourself in tune with this flow. That means your body should flow with this energy with awareness. What you should do is definitely sleep by 9pm. Set the clock that way. How is the energy lost while sleeping? The maximum energy is lost during dream state. Dream state uses a lot of energy. Just like waking state. As I said, mind uses energy just like eyes, maximum. If dream state is lesser in the night, the quality of sleep will be very high. Actually we need only three hours of deep sleep for recharging your batteries. If your dream state is less, deep sleep is more, you will definitely wake up by 3am. Don’t try waking up at 3am first, because it will not work that way. But instead start sleeping early. For a few weeks you may sleep more in the night, still it’s ok. But slowly, slowly, what happens is you can reduce that dream state by cutting off at 9pm saying, ”I’m not available after 9pm.” The heaviest of time is from 3pm to 3am. That’s the time when people go for alcohol and all indulgences, because time is favourable for such activity. You want to go into wild moods during that time. If that is understood well, and if you are able to sleep during that time, your confidence level and your overall constitution will be more powerful. Earlier people used to say, 3 hours after the sunset, sleep. And 3 hours before the sunrise, get up. Change the constitution by changing the rhythm of life. It works wonders.
Q: During the meditaiton I saw you, I didn’t know if my eyes were closed at all!?
A: It always happens. When I initiate, I do not initiate people into shaktipat, I create myself. It’s simple. The amount of energy which has to be handled by the people when they deliver shaktipat, it’s not often possible with the human body. So I have to take responsibility and I have to create myself , to deliver through them. This is also why none of them get affected when they deliver shaktipat. They do not fall sick because they are handling big problems of people. Nobody falls sick, I fall sick.
(to one initiate): Will you explain how detoxing works?
I: It happens with all great masters. They take on our problems on themselves, our fears, blockages, but they ‘burn’ or neutralise it in a very short time. Mohan took that during the retreat at the weekend and got sick. Overcoming these blockages which masters collect onto themselves sometimes happens in a moment. They have such an enormous power within themselves so what remains is either ash or nothing. So whatever is the reason of your suffering, go ahead, just surrender it to Him. They do not ask anything in return. They are really unconditional in their love. Open your heart and you’ll be benefited. What ‘churns’ means is neautralise, like what we did when we chanted ‘mmm’ as preparation for the meditation, ‘mmm’ with concentration on the solar plexus, as it is the fire element. We ‘burnt down’ or ‘churned’ our thoughts. Great masters do it on a global level, not only on the Earth, but in the whole universe. They are not present only here in front of our eyes. the way we are. They are in multiple dimensions at the same time. Our mind cannot comprehend that. We have to grow a lot in consciousness, so that we could understand only a bit of theirs. Therefore let’s open our hearts, now is the time to feel and use the erect spine, relax and let go of all that blocks us and the world is our oyster 🙂
A: There are many people initiated into shaktipat in various parts of the world. When they deliver shaktipat some people who have never met me also see me through them. When they deliver shaktipat, I take over. It is like transferring energy using another body to a different set of people. This is a very powerful, but very positive energy which cleanses a lot of stuff from each individual. It helps to remove the blockages from physical such as diseases, emotional, intellectual, spiritual level. In every level it cleanses. But what I do is I churn through my system, so that it relieves people from suffering. This is again part of the golden path. Because the operating level is compassion and unconditional love with zero expectation. Some of you will never see me again physically, but our connection will say. And if you are able to see beyond, you can see all the masters operating in one platform and this is the beauty of unity. When a thought happens in your mind, like ”I need help” it is immediately connected to the consciousness, and automatically it’s delivered. That is golden tradition. You don’t have to send an email, or an sms or a call by phone because these are all from the mind side. It’s not from the mind. It’s from the consciousness. And when the help is needed, the configuration happens, so that help is delivered. The only blocking factors are ego and mind. Because we see only the physical body, and think, ”Oh, that is him, I know him. This is only an expression. There is a much larger ocean behind. That is why i wrote ”Trying to understand god using our intellect is like trying to measure water in the ocean using an ounce glass.“ You can keep on trying, ha, ha.
Q: I have attended meditations for two months and I have less need for meat and for food in general. Is is possible that it is an effect of meditations?
A: Actually when you have more energy within, you don’t need external factors to deliver energy. The quantity will reduce, for sure, and also the quality will be of much importance to us. Some food we cannot even eat, we discard it. But some food, even if it is less in quantity, like dry fruit, this kind of food which releases a lot of energy over a period of time, we would want to eat more. This will activate our energy levels within and that will be sufficient for us to carry forward in the day. This is definitely the consequence, and not only of meditation. When you are evolving in spirituality, this is one sign which you can always depend on. When you grow in spirituality, you will sometimes lose friends, because the vibration doesn’t match, and sometimes you lose interest in certain food, whose vibration doesn’t match. So, as our vibratory level changes, you can see that happening in daily life. And also so many other factors of existence such as food, relationships, sexuality, there will be a lot of changes in different dimensions of our existence. It’s important to flow, it’s important to be flexible and accept the current reality at all times. Because if you feel, ”O, I miss my past”, then you cannot move forward.
Q: I have a sub-question, then religions will say, you must eat this, you mustn’t eat that. As for sexuality, you can do this, you mustn’t do that. Should we determine it ourselves spontaneously or obey religion, teacher?
A: Each teacher had a task to do. If you look at all the spiritual teachers, they all spoke to certain people of their time. Truth is one, god is one, expressions are many. And if somebody cannot speak your language, you will not understand him. So there have been many religions, teachers, paths, everything is ok, but you can only wear the shirt that suits you. Every path, every religion, every guru, their words, may not appeal to you because their message does not suit you. There are 7 billion people in the world, each person has a character, different constitution, thumb impression, so this being a situation, everybody cannot be given the same food nor the same medicine. This is why there ia a variety of masters, variety of teachings, choose what suits you, otherwise you will not be benefited, nor will you continue, but you will discard it halfway. And dos and donts are related to what we can handle and what we cannot handle. If I say only this food should be eaten by everybody, it may not suit everybody. You have to choose something which suits your body or your appetite. Be flexible, keep flowing. The whole idea is to be peaceful within, not to compromise with somebody.
Q: Then your teaching is different from other teachings, others impose dos and donts. It’s nice and liberating to hear that.
A: Also, spirituality is about being natural, what you are. If you understand yourself, you can understand others. Through time, our education system always tells us what to do think, they do not teach us how to think. We do not actually need that guidance, we are already complete within. Nobody needs to tell us what to think, we know.
Q: I would like to share what I have noticed during the last ten years, that is how I reached meditation, with the advice of a homeopath, I had a health problem with constant stomach bloating. I fought with it in various ways, nothing worked. Since the retreat in Vrdnik and since we started the morning routine together, I still do it, I don’t know how, I expected to have even heavier bloating because of huge amount of water, but my stomach is finally flat, I feel so beautiful, I also spontaneously gave up coffee. It is all so mysterious for me.
A: I told you I always do my job.
Q: I would like to share my impressions about meditation, I meditate on my own, this is my first group meditation. I felt during the meditation some yellowish light, and when somebody approached me for shaktipat, I was too hot. When they put finger on my third eye, I felt strong palpitations. You explained that it is probably because of the cleansing in the body, could you make it more clear to me?
A: Shaktipat as I explained, cleanses from the seed level. It is aimed to reduce your burden of existence. Wherever there is a blockage, it could be physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, it burns whatever is available to be burnt at that time. Naturally fire is what you saw, fire gave you the heat, the nature of fire is heat. This is the stomach is the seat of fire in the body. This is why we are humming – to heat up the central area. Most of our emotions e.g. when we get angry, our stomach is upset. When we have fear, it affects stomach. When we have jealousy, again stomach. So, all these are impacting stomach region. When it affects the stomach region, it affects the whole body. Residue of it lies all over the body. The more the residue, the more signs of fatigue or lack of circulation of energy levels in that area. When the shaktipat was delivered, it cleansed all over. It wiped away a lot of things which were lying in your system. You will feel the freshness in the days ahead. Right now you may not understand the full thing that happened. You will normally understand certain experiences. But when life or outlook or vision changes, then you know oh, something fundamentally changed.
Q: Thank you. One more question, you mentioned that a thought is the reason for suffering. And as I understood, that the moment will come when the awareness, our essence will overcome. Could you know or tell us when this moment will come or will it happen for all at the same time or individually?
A: Dependency on senses reduces when you shift to your spine. Or another way of detaching from the mind is make sure with every thought, every word, every action, mind is present. When you are constantly in the present all the time, dependency on the mind will reduce, you will be controlling the mind. Once this level of activity happens, you can easily move into your breathing, you will be aware of your breathing, heartbeat, to the level where you can travel to any part of the body using the mind as the vehicle. because once you are in control of the mind, the mind works for you. Once you are in tune with your heartbeat, circulation, breath, digestion, all activities, that means nothing will escape your conscious awareness.
There are various methods, one method is just observe your thoughts five minutes a day. You can increase time later, but start with five, then prolong to ten next week etc, you don’t need to tell anybody, it is work with yourself. When you observe your thoughts, you don’t know what you will think next. That is why it is very important to accept all your thoughts. Don’t try to criticise them, judge them or control them, this way it will not work. Don’t try to watch your thoughts using your conditioning saying this is good, this is bad. We have to only watch them, everything’s fine. Some thoughts are not good for our moral standards, it’s ok, we just watch them without any interference, any judgement, any censorship. Then what happens is thoughts will reduce. This is a meditation. Then thoughts reduce and the gap between thoughts increases. Then when there will be a gap between thoughts. When there is a gap between thoughts, there is a gap of silence between those gaps. And you will start falling in love with that small gap of silence. Once you start falling in love with that silence, that silence increases. Whatever you energise, it grows. When the silence grows, the whole body, the whole systems will be in that silence. Then a thought will happen only for a purpose. There won’t be thoughts just by default, nor will thoughts rush into your mind. Then you ill be in a meditative mode 24 hours a day. You won’t be pushed for thinking, pushed for talking, or forced into action. None of these will happen.
Another method is watch the tip of your nostril, with eyes half-closed. When you watch the tip of your nose for some time, the eyes start to pain, close them. Automatically what happens is the attention shifts to the third eye, without your effort. When you observe the tip of the nostril for a period of time, e.g. five minutes, do not force, it should be pleasure not pressure. If you cannot enjoy what you are doing, it is not worth it. So just do it in a happy and easy way. Then your sense of smell becomes very cute. Usually we know what is cooking in the kitchen. But you will reach a stage where you will know what is cooking in every kitchen 🙂 But it will not touch your appetite, ha, ha. It is a joke, but it is true that your sense of smell becomes acute.
Third is watch your breath. There is no breath without your watching. Every sixty minutes the nostrils change. From the left one to the right one, it keeps shifting. This is to energise left and right side of the brain. Watch it and flow with that energy up and down. After some time you will be with that energy in the whole body. You can feel the flow through the body and you can move through the body.
All this takes time, don’t think, ok next week I’ll master it. It’s not like that. Since you meditate I gave you some tips which work. If you like some of them use it, if not, don’t. You must be very clear about two things in spirituality, ability to say no, if you don’t like something say no, be very clear. This also includes an exercise or practice which does not suit you, drop it, don’t think twice. It is not discarding because of laziness, this is different, that is very easy, it is exactly opposite to spirituality. I never recommend that. And the second thing is whatever you do, enjoy it. If you cannot enjoy, don’t do it.
Q: When we have emotions along with our thoughts, should we detach from them or to experience them again?
A: Detach from them. But watch them come and go. Whatever you energise happens. If you energise sorrows, they happen. It’s like the seeds are existing, if you add water every day, they grow. Be sure what you energise. Even in relationships, we fall into relationships because we are bored. This is an utterly wrong idea or wrong reason for falling into a relationship. When there are intentions in our daily life, think again, is this really the way to go? Once you start watching your thoughts, words, actions, you will discard many of them because they are not needed, you will start reducing. One thing is that if you energise them, or if you start watching them closely, you energise them, they don’t go, they stay. But whatever drops off, you don’t need it.
