Awareness Makes Your Life Complete

From Satsang during the retreat in Serbia, May 2015

Free yourself from yourself

Mohanji on Andrevlje 9 FBHave you ever wondered why certain patterns stay on and do not leave us? We are suffocated and tired of the baggage, but something within doesn’t allow us to leave it. That is the ego. Ego creates such fear – “If you lose it, what will happen to you?”
Freedom is actually freedom from yourself. Then you are free from the whole situation around you. Spiritual powers are spontaneous and automatic. They happen to you when you are empty. You don’t need to go searching. Similarly for inner peace and emptiness- your only effort is in letting go. Let go. Let go. Let go. Whatever binds you, you must let go. The ego aspect creates a fear that if you let go, you will have a deficiency or abnormality. This creates a kind of distrust. You do not trust yourself that you will be fine without all this baggage. It also creates a distrust against the person who is guiding you (“how does he know?”). These are all aspects of ego.
Have you ever thought of yourself as a very, very powerful being? This is the truth. And why are you not experiencing that power, that full potential? Because of the ignorance that we have created for ourselves. We have decided– “My name is Mohan and this is what I am.” I am a man, so I should behave like a man, or I am a woman, so I should behave like a woman. We have taken on all these concepts and are living them. Actually we are living FOR those concepts. As long as we live for concepts, we can never be ourselves. The yes and the no, the dos and the don’ts- all these things are binding us. Some people are afraid to be rich. Some people are always worried about being poor. Whatever you are doing, you are storing certain impressions which will become your reality at a certain point in time.
Success is an attitude. What is the attitude of success? What gives you that attitude? Flexibility. The more flexible you are, the more successful you are. When you are absolutely flexible, you are absolutely successful. So, if you look at yourself and you understand who you are and you try to get out of this understanding saying “I am well beyond all this” (not a concept, again I am not adding one more concept), you add reality into the system.

Be happy without a reason

You know, happiness is not a relative term. Happiness is a perpetual situation. Usually our happiness depends on another person, situation, or a particular material, state, such as having money or not having money… That is not happiness. We should be happy for no reason. If we are happy for no reason, we are always happy. Why do we keep shifting grounds searching for happiness, when we never find it? Have you wondered- we are always on a journey to somewhere but the destination never arrives. The journey is what interests us, not really the destination, because sometimes we don’t know where we are going.

Journey and the destination: coming home

The journey is a reality and this reality binds us. A small shift: we are in the journey, we are witnessing ourselves in the journey.
Then the journey is an experience, an experience of the moment, but the journey continues. The destination has no value; destination happens to you. Why do you have a confusion about destination? You are looking outside. But when you come home within you or when you feel that you have been seeking yourself all these years, destination and the journey become one. It’s peace. When you get inside yourself, when you come home, you’re at peace. Then what do you see around you? All the people who are at home. Everybody has a home. Some people do not understand, so they search, keep searching. Finally when they are tired of searching, they find the home. That is the point.

Awareness makes your life complete

Q: So when we are searching, we get a taste of that peace but then it also happens that everything becomes meaningless in a way.

M: No way. Everything shines in a different light. For example, if this room is dark, you have limited view and you are touching and feeling things. Suddenly, light enters, you can see everything clearly. Which is better- to experience something with full awareness or partial awareness?
We eat food every day from various places. Here, I saw many people actually experiencing the food much better than normal. Why? Because the environment and situation are different. How would life be if every moment was like this?
Awareness is rich food, not bland. Awareness makes your life complete. Partial awareness, like partial knowledge, is the problem. We have some idea about something and we talk about it. We are very sure what we talk because we have very partial knowledge. Those who really know, never talk. There is no need to express because they are already complete. But those with partial knowledge, you can see on Facebook, like diarrhea, all the time coming. Where is this urge coming from? It’s coming from the urge to prove.
But the moment you are peaceful, you are peaceful with yourself as well as the outside world. You will be purpose bound. So when you arrive at home, you will have no pressure to talk, think or act. You won’t even worry about how you look or behave, or if the society accepts or rejects you, if people are kind or cruel to you, if they consider you as completely sane or completely insane; nothing matters. Nothing can touch the peace inside. Whatever happens outside, it’s outside. Nobody can spoil your inner peace. You are peaceful irrespective of the availability of a thing, material, space, situation etc.

Q: Sometimes I feel that it doesn’t matter what is going on. Sometimes I am peaceful, I am emotionless, without emotions.

M: That impermanence “sometimes” should become “all times”. For that you need objectivity; that is the path. When you are objective, you watch yourself- “I am beyond emotions now. And at a certain time, I am vulnerable to emotions.” You should look at both these situations objectively.
Suppose you pass through such situations continuously and feel that you are 80% not affected. Suppose the question “why?” stops and you say “ok, that’s happening, no problem, I’ll go through it”. When this happens, understand you are on the right track.
Look around you, those who ask “why, why, why?” all the time; they are completely controlled by the mind, they always need answers and they are never satisfied. They stay only in the question-answer plane; they are not going beyond. “Ok, let the situation happen, let me move on” – that is not happening. It’s good to have inquisitiveness, like a child (why is the sun shining? why is the sun coming up in the morning?). All these questions are good, because they help the evolution. But after some time, when you are in a state of stagnation, and if “why” keeps you stagnant, it is not good for evolution.

Life is constant detours provided by the time

A lot of these things are happening because of time. Have you ever thought that most of your baggage is not yours? See, if we are allowed to carry 30kg in the flight, 33% is yours, 33% comes from the lineage (heredity), the rest 33% is given by the time. And it is situational. The situation is provided by the time and time changes the situations. This confuses the person. You know, something was like this yesterday, but it is different today. Yesterday you were going down this road, but today there is no road, there is another road.
Life is like that, constant detours with time. This is one of the spiritual challenges of our time. How to handle the changes (in body, mind, intellect, environment etc.) that time provides? This is an acid test of our spiritual coefficient.

Compassion is a very clarified kind of love. If your level of operation is compassion all the time, you are in a high level of spirituality already. This “me”, “mine” and all those selfish and personal words show that you are operating in the level of ignorance. But when you see yourself in everybody’s eyes, you are already spiritual.

Society gives you sympathy and concepts

Society sympathizes with us, which paralyzes us. Whenever we accept sympathy of other people, we are actually diminishing ourselves. It’s not a positive side of acceptance. Society gives you sympathy, so that you don’t have to think further (“Oh, poor you”). Secondly, it induces self-pity (“Poor me, I am so and so, I am vulnerable, experiencing these bad things”). That becomes a vicious circle.
It’s like in today’s marketing, they pump up all these things in the media, so that you get tempted to do it, buy it and experience it. There is no end to it- you want to buy or upgrade and at the end of the day, you’re exhausted. Likewise, if you’re constantly operate in the level of self-pity and sympathy, you get paralyzed in life. Secondly, the society freely gives concepts about everything- God, gurus, masters, the right practices, religions. Then your individuality is lost.
There is a big difference between showing you the way and making you see. Suppose I tell you- if you go this way, you will reach Novi Sad. Now, whether you go or not is your personal desire or option. But if I say “There is a bridge on river Danube, this is what you should see”, by the time you reach Danube, you are finished. You won’t see Novi Sad, because your mind is focused on one object. So, what would you normally feel? You’d think the river Danube is Novi Sad.
This is the problem with concepts. Concepts bind you to a particular state, material, place, person or an idea. This is how people have manipulated people. “This is the only thing, don’t look anywhere else.” So, what happened, all the options are lost- the option of being yourself, experiencing 100% of your potential and all the options which you possibly could have had are lost. For example, a lot of people have even confused the whole world with this word “kundalini experience”. Each person’s experience of kundalini has to be different, because you are unique. How do we say “This is how it is”? The more you read, the more concept-oriented you become. Ideally, you should read only what is necessary for the moment. That is why they say jnana yogis (those on a knowledge path) take longer to reach God than a bhakti yogi, who is on a devotion path.

Religions vs. interpretations

Religion is basically like a road map, it is not the end. Every religion is formed out of some great teachings of great realized masters who knew what they were talking about and only meant good. But the interpretations degenerated through time and each generation made their own interpretation. Masters have said, “I have seen the light, I have seen God, if you walk this way, you can also see God.” In that mode, it doesn’t matter if you are born into a religion, or if you follow a religion, a particular God or master; go till the end of the road. Go with your full conviction, consistency, discipline and you will achieve.

Your inner change reflects on future and past generations

Usually the whole lineage, including ancestors and the coming generations get the benefit of having a saint born in the family. Usually it’s like 3 generations go up, 3 generations become complacent and then 3 generations fall. Every family can be seen like a wave. When you become more elevated in consciousness, that energy gets transferred to the coming generations and to the past.

God is NEUTRAL – Just Like our own SOUL

The text was originally published in the Awakening Times magazine.

Mohanji Kailash

If there are 7 Billion people on earth, there are as many personalities, with concepts, ideas, fears, conditionings, and all other flavors of life that one could possibly think about. As I have always mentioned, constitution wise, we are “hand-made” and not a factory product that looks and feels alike and whenever man tried to create evenness among his subjects, serious tragedies took place; wars, death and displacements happened.

Each being on earth is unique, irrespective of the species. This also implies on one’s free will. We create our destiny. We ourselves, through our own thoughts, words, emotion and action created our own destiny. We are the creator or script writer of our own life. Soul is only the aiding factor or the fuel that fulfils the journey – the energy that made the script into action. Nobody else is responsible for your life, your experience, even though many a time, you need co-actors to bring forth effects in experience. So many actors sequentially join and leave the play and each actor has his or her relevance in the play. None is less or more important. Everyone added their flavor.

In your life story you are certainly the hero and the rest are the supporting actors. But for each supporting actor, they are the hero of their own script. Comedy, tragedy, drama, action, horror, satire and all its variations are usually part of every script. Each actor represent different flavors of life. They join hands and spice up the drama of your life. They make it worth it. Sometimes the show makes you cry, sometimes it makes you laugh, sometimes it creates fear, sometimes love. The story continues. Many characters happen in the play.
awakening soul

Concepts and questions such as why cannot God remove evil from earth makes no sense when we understand how the infinite power operates. God is neutral, just like our own soul. It is objective, non-interfering and in perfect detachment from the actor or the action. God allows all characters to come and perform on the stage or it never interferes at least. Since each player is also the script writer of his own drama, God allows the experience of the play, irrespective of its theme and reason. There is no good and bad in God’s realm. There is only truth and experience. Man goes through many relative truths before he understands and attains the absolute truth. This trial and error is part of every being’s life.

God shall not take away this experience of existing in duality until one finds his unity. Duality is indeed the state as well as experience that leads one to unity. This truth cannot be underestimated. Without duality, there is no creativity. When me and my father become one, there is nothing to experience anymore. Only when the object and the experiencer are separate from one another, there is an experience. When eyes become one with the sight, there is nothing to see. When tongue becomes taste, there is nothing to taste. When ego and all identities dissolve and man becomes one with God, there is no more search. There is only beingness.

This state can be achieved only at the end of the drama. The chosen script should be acted and completed before the merger can happen. The audience or the operator cannot interfere and change the script nor duration. Sometimes, some characters attain sudden death and disappear from the drama. Even this is part of the original script even though it may seem to the audience as quite dramatic. This is the chosen effect, by the script writer. If a Wow happens in the lips of the audience, the script writer attains fulfillment, even if it means a tragedy.

The Secret of Immortality

Open Satsang Iriski Venac, Fruska Gora, Serbia on 4th October 2015, compiled with snippets from other blogs

Q: Could you tell us about forgiveness? If you want to forgive somebody, how important is it to say it directly to that person?
M: Is the person very dangerous?
Q: No.
M: As I said, thought is the first level of creation. When the thought is happening in this specific context that you want to forgive somebody, you believe that that person hurt you. Your ego is hurt. And ego will tell you that you have the power to forgive. If there is no ego, there is no hurt, no need for forgiveness. When you go with that ego to forgive that person, he will beat you up.
A bachelor once saw a beautiful girl singing on TV and immediately fell in love with her. He was also dead drunk at that time. He decided he could not live without her. He immediately called the television company in the middle of the night, saying, “I want her address or phone number.’’ The receptionist understood this man was dead drunk. He replied with all sorts of excuses- “This is the wrong time and I don’t have the address, we have to check with general manager, it’s a process, you have to apply…’’ So this guy went into an argument with the receptionist. And argument became abuse, soon extending even to family members etc. The receptionist put the phone down. This guy later regretted, “I am a professional, and I should have ethics. I should not have talked to the receptionist in this language. I will ask for his forgiveness.’’ So he called again, “Do you remember, somebody called your father, mother ***? That was me.’’ (Laughter) The receptionist got really annoyed. He abused him back. “How dare you call me again?!’’ Then they both abused each other and this time the bachelor put the phone down. Then he said, ‘‘Now it’s a relief.’’
It’s from a comedy film. When we decide we can forgive somebody, this is from our ego. Who are we to forgive anybody?
How to get out of this kind of feeling? You had a relationship, you had an exchange of words, or energies or events. You did something together. It didn’t work out well and you feel hurt. So how do you get out of the karma? You have to let go of what was in the past and just be, “Ok, let me handle it. Ok, this is past, it’s history, done. Gone.’’ Don’t carry the weight. Do you know why so many pains happen in life? Because we carry the past. If you leave the past where it belongs, you are free. No incident or event can happen in life unless there is karma to it.
If you handle each situation like that without ego, whether it’s good or bad, it will operate by itself and dissipate. And the best way to reconnect is to assist, rather than telling the other person, “Ok, I’m forgiving you.’’ Most people won’t take it. They’ll say, ‘‘Who are you to forgive me? I refuse to forgive you.’’ Again friction happens. Instead, if you express kindness in return, forgiveness is automatic. Letting go is automatic. Never underestimate your power. Never think you are like a puppet in the hands of destiny. You are very, very powerful. Why we don’t feel that power is because we are bound by concepts. We are bound by “This is how it should be.’’ And you put yourself into a frame, “This is what is me.’’ If anybody else says, “No, that’s not you,’’ you may agree, but you will still keep the concept. This is sometimes why we do not experience life in its completion.
So always be practical. More than spiritual we should be practical. And how can you be practical? By being in the present. Past is dead, future has not happened yet; now is the time. Do something right now. And if history proves your action was not right, it’s ok. Whether we succeed or not, do it gracefully. Who said we need to succeed all the time? We can fail too. None of these people sitting here began walking from sitting, right away as babies. They have fallen many times. It’s ok to fall down some time. Then you will be stronger.
Q: You said if you stop being you, all your problems will be resolved. By saying ‘stop being you,’ what do you mean by ‘you’? Stop being part of my ego, stop being part of my past, or everything?
M: A good question. When I say ‘stop being you’ I mean stop owning, or doing. We always feel we are doing something. This ‘I’ is the ego, ‘I am doing’, ‘I am seeing,’ ‘I am watching,’ ‘I am experiencing.’ So when you remove this ‘I’, you are only left with action, words, thoughts and experiences. When you connect to any master (whether it is Jesus, mother Mary or anybody you like), you say, “All this is happening and everything is at your feet.” When you have surrendered everything, you stop ‘doing’. Words and activities are happening through you. But at the same time, you do not have its burden. When you say ‘I do’, you are responsible. You have ownership. When it happens through you, it’s happening. Everything is flowing through you. This is the difference I am talking about.
’Stop being you’ means your ego, your identification, I am XY, I do this, I do that. Then all the pressures and pains will come to you similarly. In Bhagawad Gita, Lord Krishna says, ‘‘If you surrender your actions and also results of your actions to me, I’ll remove you from karma or sins, whatever you want to call it.’’ That means if you are not ‘doing’, you are not ‘earning’ karma. Do your action with full surrender and say, ‘‘Ok, whatever I’m eating, is for you. Whatever I am doing, it is for you.’’
So every step you take should be a step towards liberation. You will never have a problem with any experiences in life. Because whatever comes to you (even a thought), is sent to you. E.g. you had an inclination to have an icecream. Where did this thought come from? There is a desire sitting inside. At every point in time, whatever comes your way, you will experience it 100%. Without guilt, you can have your icecream.
I would say nothing is absolutely right, nothing is absolutely wrong. No right or wrong except violence. If you express violence, it is harmful to somebody and most of all, to you. I always tell people, experience anything you like in life provided it isn’t part of violence. Violence creates heavy karma.
Q: But what if we feel a sense of ownership and control when we need to make some decision? How to make the right decision to be in the right path?
M: Look back into your life. We feel we made many decisions. This is a mental illusion. Who gave a place, a time, a situation and an environment for your decision? We experience millions of things in this world through our five senses which are connected to one mind. So, at one instant, you can experience only one thing completely. One thing 100%. No multitasking. (laughter)
In this constraint, how many decisions can we make? We perform some activity and satisfy our ego that we decided something. But karma has provided you with parents, place of birth, environment, time (duration) and awareness to experience all that you wanted. Within these constraints, how many decisions can you make? I’m just showing the mirror to you. We have to be very realistic in life. If you take this whole context, we understand how limited we are in our existence.
So what is the best way to live with all this understanding? If you understand the whole picture, the answer emerges by itself. Experience every moment 100%. Remember three words. BE. HERE. NOW. Be means be 100% you. Be you. Here means this position, this place. Now means this moment.
Never take anything for granted. If you take something for granted, this is ignorance. Whether you wake up or not, the sun will shine. We will all be gone in 100 years. So Earth is recycling very fast. In this, you have two choices. You can either own your ego or you can own consciousness. Both cannot go together. Prefer consciousness so that every moment will be 100%.
Q: Where is our responsibility in all this?
M: Responsibility is also a part of this karmic pattern. As a child, you are responsible to your parents. When you get married or have children, you are responsible to them. Just imagine, “Tomorrow I’ll do nothing.” The next day also decide the same. Do you think you can continue like this for five days? At least you have to pay the bills, electricity, food, clothes. You can try not to be responsible, but karma pushes you. I said so many times, “I am not going to travel.” Now I stopped saying this because all plans are fixed till September next year. Another sign how karma pushes you. “Ok, fine, no problem.”

(in simple terms)

Q: What does pure consciousness say when technologies state boldly that they can program human consciousness to live eternally?
M: Who said so?
Q: New technologies of consciousness- one of them is a new technology in Russia by Grigorij Grabovoj, who claims that he has the technology of consciousness that you can live forever while in the body. What do you say about that?
M: What should I say, I don’t know.
First of all, how can you have longevity? Immortality is not a difficult thing. I was telling about eras- Golden age, Treta Yug, Dwapara Yug and Kali Yug. Each Yug has a character and constitution. In simple terms, immortality means longevity of life- life in the sense, existing where you are existing, with or without the body. Immortality depends on how much we operate from the energetic plane. This is also the theory behind teleportation. Existence and movement depends on what sort of energy plane we operate from.
In simple terms, we have a physical body, mind, intelligence, intellect, ego- we feel, experience and use them. All these faculties are gross. You have to dissolve these faculties into non-existence to connect to your essence i.e. the energy which we can call the soul.
And how do you reach that position? How do you transcend to that level?
From horizontal, we need to be vertical. The first and easiest way to connect to vertical is your spine. But spine is only a reference point to show you what is vertical. When you hug your spine and you start operating in the vertical plane; the past, present and future is in one line. This is also the secret of moving out of the body and coming back. If you have seen the presentation of , how fast I leave the body, or a video, this is the technique which I used. But I don’t like this kind of experimentation to prove myself because I feel like an idiot.
Once this vertical operation starts, we are perpetually connected to the center point. In other words, there are eighteen platforms visible/ experience-able above your sahasrara. We only talk about seven chakras and it’s silly- they are in everybody and it is so basic. Forget about the chakras and go beyond. When you go on top from the third eye, you travel through nirgunas i.e. gunaless, formless, flavourless zones. Only from below, there is flavour i.e. there is colour because they are connected to organs. The moment you reach here (the third eye) and travel between the two chakras- third eye and top of the head (sahasrara), there are seven centers. Each center is akin to a milestone. One this is accomplished, you are already in 360 degrees level, centered. Then you are travelling up. Each point depicts a dimensional change. Further, further… By the time you reach the eighteenth one, your consciousness is much wider than the Milky Way and the other zones. Even within the Milky Way, there are many microzones/ Lokas/ worlds with beings of various levels of subtlety. You start connecting to such worlds after a while. If you operate in this mode, you decide to keep the body or leave it whenever you like.
I’ve explained the whole secret of immortality now.
I don’t think you will find these details in any book. I have no idea about this man or his technique, but as far as I’m concerned, the technique is vertical technique.
Usually, all people are karmic beings, pushed by karma. Non-karmic beings are different, they are like avadhootas. They don’t care about local rules, they exist in their own world. They will not have any particular pattern, they will not be bound by anything. These are the liberated beings. These people are sometimes not born out of karma.
Everybody else is born out of karma. When you have a karmic body, before you leave it, you would have collected all the desires for the next life. So there is no point in going up or anywhere. Because there is nowhere to go. You can only go to the next womb. In this, there is no time for liberation.

Mohanji quote - be always aware of your spine

The major shift is in the pattern of the breath. From horizontal to vertical. We will try a small technique:
Close your eyes, keep your spine erect, I’ll guide you.
No movement for a few minutes. Go to the root of your spine. Breathe consciously in Ujay. When it reaches the top of the head, hold it. Then release it all the way down. Breathe in, hold, breathe out, hold. Breathe in, hold 10 seconds, breathe out, hold 10 seconds. Repeat three more times.

Residue of past lives exists in every being. That is the basis of our unique constitution. This is more or less unchangeable unless, a conscious effort is taken to understand oneself and shed it from the root. Fears created out of this residue produce such reality in life, which re-confirms the inherent fear. It will bring situations and reasons to enjoy the state of fear. Hatred and enmity brings forth such realities. Sometimes people become possessive and cruel too, because of their inherent insecurities. These are the external expressions or gross manifestations of the inherent residue. When residue leaves, you experience lightness, clarity, flexibility and finally, enlightenment. Those who lead a confused existence accumulate more residue than the ones who have clarity in action. Those who are emotional by nature, who crave for sympathy or applause, who constantly blame situations or other people for their seeming failures in carrying out responsibilities, who constantly blame injustice in society without doing anything about it, are filling themselves up with deep residue at each moment.
Where does the residue stay? Mostly in the lower region of our body. The lower part of the “shiv ling”. Shivling means our body minus legs, hands, neck and head. When energy moves through the body, vertically and horizontally, in alternate waves, the residue of thoughts, words and actions combined with emotions are dropped to the bottom. It gets accumulated or stuck at various locations of our system, of which the tangible gross is our body and intangible are the subtle meridians. It accumulates mostly around the root and the swadhishtana chakras and it in turn gets clogged over a period of time. This prevents the kundalini from moving anywhere. This is also why it is said that pushing Kundalini forcefully through mantras and practices could lead to lifetimes of agony. Removal of residue will automatically clear the path and will allow kundalini to rise to where it belongs, effortlessly and without any artificial stimulus.
The clogging at the lower part of our system stays when conscious unhooking does not take place. Forgiveness, repentance, feeding the poor, sharing the wealth with the needy and under-privileged, spontaneous acts of kindness and every aspect of truth and compassion reduce the residue. This is why such acts of kindness are well recommended in most paths of the world. Bhakti Yoga and Karma Yoga are powerful tools that reduce the residue.

What happens when residue leaves through sadhana or by the grace of the Master? Usually, all the hidden fears, anxieties and traumas will surface first. Sleeplessness, confusion and many such emotions can surface. Only a person who is strong enough to handle unknown fears and hidden traumas, can actually make use of this sadhana or practice. Some tend to suppress the residue back into themselves when faced with overwhelming fear and confusion. Some prefer to change the guru! It takes an expert guide to take you through this time. This is quite a vulnerable time and the practitioner should be extremely objective, patient and kind.
When we embrace silence through practicing witnesshood, the same happens. Negative emotions such as fears and anxieties are the first to emerge. We have to allow them to surface and sincerely let go. Many cannot. Some cannot even release their own illnesses. They hold on to everything and the whole exercise becomes futile.
In some paths, there are practices such as talking nonsense to themselves, or shouting at the wall for minutes. This is to expel the hidden residue. But, understand that the nature also has the same power to hold. There are scientific proofs that if you scold or show anger to the water, it forms a different pattern within than when you speak words of love to it. Nature holds residue of events. This is why accidents happen almost at the same place always. Accident prone areas or death prone areas tell this story. Just like we always attract similar realities. We are indeed a part of the nature and nature is integrated into us.
Watch yourself, watch through emotions, use intellect more, try to bring up all the lower emotions through breath to the higher parts of the body. Remember yourself as a Shiv ling. Breathe from the back to the front and breathe from the front to the back, alternatively, in a gap of five minutes. This could bring forth the hidden residue from lower to higher and release it from the system. When this movement becomes fine and smooth, perfect distribution of energy takes place. Equanimity and balance happens in life. I could go on and on. But, the fundamental truth of accumulation and release always remains. What you earn should be spent. What stagnates, decays. And residue slows us down and prevents us from being fluid in life. It makes us stiff. The earth and water element of our system such as root and swadhishtana suffer the most. Instability happens if earth is not stable. Contamination happens, if water is unstable or stagnant. Do not worry too much about the fire, which is the stomach center. If the lower ones are contaminated, “black smoke” of unburnt residue would contaminate the air and space, the higher chakras and obscure the heavens which are Ajna and Sahasrara. You are the world. You are the universe. So, a conscious practice in cleansing yourself is the most important thing in everyday spiritual practice. Likewise, if the guide is not confident, do not experiment. Leave kundalini alone. Instead, concentrate on the removal of residue. This is important. Make a conscious choice. Understand yourself and the reasons of your actions. Are you after spiritual elevation or sensation? Any practice can give you some sensation. Only shedding or emptying will give you spiritual elevation. You are like a balloon tied to a stone. When the stone is removed, the balloon will float up in the air. When we are heavy and caged, limitations are experienced. Unlimitedness means freedom. This is the aim of true spirituality. Rituals of unconscious nature or running after sensations cannot deliver that.
Do Gurus take on residue of their disciples? It depends on the receptivity and surrender of the disciple. Yes. Some do. Not all. Many do not even allow people to touch their feet because of this reason. True Gurus often take much blockage onto themselves. They relieve the devotee from pain by taking it on to their own body. Some even shed their body due to this. Remember, Shirdi Baba shed his body in lieu of the son of Baija maa. A true guru always protects, ignoring himself, unconditionally. Jesus only asked for faith from the people who needed his help. Babaji exists in multiple realms as a personification of unconditionality.

Talking Thoughts

MohanjiOne may ask if a man is accountable for the thoughts he thinks, especially if there are violent or reactionary ones, or is he accountable only for the thoughts that he puts into action. It is true that it is difficult to control our thoughts. This is because thoughts are produced by inclination, and inclination is produced by karma. If there is no karma to smoke cigarettes, one will not have an inclination for cigarettes. If one does not have an inclination for cigarettes, one will not even have the thought to smoke. If one does not have a thought, one will not have a word about it. One will not even say to another, ”I want to have a cigarette.”
Thus if one does not have a word, there is no further action. Word in the sense of a particular activity, or transaction, not just speaking. Word which leads to actual activity, to actual smoking. So, what is in the beginning karma, in the end is fulfillment. Karma takes a course and it gets fulfilled. If it is not fulfilled, it becomes another desire. For example, ”I have smoked this particular brand and I want to smoke another brand.” That is desire which is pending. The next movement is towards that desire. Like this, we are going in circles continuously.
Thoughts which invade our mind come uninvited. The reason for this is that thoughts are created by inclination or vasanas. They happen only as per linear time. Our life goes from the first birthday till the last birthday. We travel through time and all our experiences are according to time. Thus a particular thought can happen only at a particular time, like an experience for example. One cannot experience what it is like to be a mother at the age of five. One has to attain a particular age to be a mother. So, each thought will happen or each activity will happen only as per the right timing.
Thoughts are happening without our knowledge because that is the right thought at that time. If a 90-year-old man decides, “I want to go to college and get educated, or play football,” all the things which a twenty-year-old would do, it is impossible. This is because time has already passed. Likewise, everything is linear to time. A particular thought is happening at a particular time because the time induces the thought, and the vasana will become a thought only at that time. It cannot happen before or after. However, these thoughts are uninvited because they come as per one’s destiny, the path of destiny called prarabda karma.
Thought is the first level of creation. Energy is released with thoughts. So, the more positive thoughts one has, the more positive results and realities one will have. A man’s karma is accountable for his thoughts. The base of thoughts is karma, then it becomes an inclination, or vasana, and next it becomes a thought. Definitely the base is karma. Karma is accountable, and thoughts are the first level of creation. Thought has potential. When we bless people, it reaches them. It has potential. It’s a positive thing. Thought plus emotion is equal to karma. Thought minus emotion has no value. Thought has a particular value if there is emotion attached to it.

The question is then, if the thought stays as a thought, is the person accountable? It depends on whether there is emotion in it. If there is an emotion, it can become a reality, sooner or later. If one is watching television and becomes very angry or upset, that can happen in one’s life. One may attract that emotion. It need not be what one is doing in life, but what one sees, hears, and gathers from other people. These are all inputs in one’s system. All the things people talk about, one may think this is innocent gossip, but it is not so. One is gathering the essence of it, and one is keeping it inside. Someday it will become a reality, and one will probably suffer because of that. That it is why it is very important to shed bad company before one goes to good company. Bad means somebody who pulls one down, only talks gossip or says “this will not work, that will not work…” They only add oil to the fire of insecurity. There are many people like that. It is important to segregate into the positive. If one can help them and bring them it’s ok, good. However, one should not jump and be drowned while rescuing somebody who is drowning in the water. This should not happen in life.
To those who have worked with me, I always say, ”Don’t tell me things which you cannot do. Tell me things which you can do. Let’s start working from there.” People always come back and say, ”I cannot do this, I cannot do that…”. When one observes society, there are more NOs than YESes. Where is this coming from? Insecurity. Inertia. Lack of energy. Lack of fire. So, this becomes their destiny. Who can help them? Nobody can. Because if one chooses to bring the fire back, definitely a lot of people will help. However if one chooses to be in that inertia mode, it’s very difficult for anybody to help. How many deep, dense and negative people does one handle every day? Remember, one can stay uncontaminated. One can stay pure. This is one’s choice. The right choice helps.
If there are violent and reactionary thoughts, is the person responsible for them? Yes. Because violent and reactionary thoughts are expressions of emotion. If the person is peaceful, there will be no violence inside. They will never hurt anybody. They will only love. All the violence inside is an expression of emotions from the past. One has kept the violence inside. At some point in time it is coming as anger, coming as insecurity, coming as hatred. All these things are happening because there is a seed already in the system.

An excerpt from a satsang in Europe in 2013

Q: I have learned that it is possible as a yogi to obtain special psychic abilities or siddhis. Since I work as a therapist, I am wondering about using these powers to help my clients in my practice, even though using these powers may obstruct my progress on the spiritual path…

In Swami Rama’s book on Himalayan Masters, he mentions a man who performed a particular practice to obtain a siddhi, or the power to spit fire. When the man told his Guru about this, the Guru asked him how many years it had taken him to attain this siddhi. The man replied that he had practiced for ten years. The Guru then retorted that he himself would simply have purchased a matchbox to achieve the same! (laughter)

I would like to speak about my own experience in this regard, which I have already written about in the Babaji blog. This goes back to 2003-2004, when I was doing spiritual practice on my own, in seclusion and detached from the work-world (I have always worked for a living). Understand that during the course of the spiritual journey, siddhis will just happen, whether you like them or not. Over time I came to realize that every time I met a person, I could “see” through them completely, through all of their past and future lives. If I perceived that they were going to meet with some kind of mishap in the future, I used to feel an inclination or sense of responsibility to inform them about it. Of course this was done without any expectation of personal gain, as always. I could have possibly consulted a guru regarding this, but I never had one, not even during my time in the Himalayas.

A siddhi-related experience I recall happened during a visit to a friend’s house where I was going to be staying as a guest. The maid, a young lady in her twenties, opened the door. The moment I looked at her, I foresaw a terrible incident involving her — a man of age 55-60 would take her away to some place and sell her into prostitution. So I spoke to my host friend,
giving him a description of this person and his nature, and asked him to pass on this information to the young lady, so she could be wary of him and avoid any interaction. My friend then communicated this to the maid in her language. Hearing that she burst into floods of tears. She had in fact, already met that person. And it so transpired that in a month’s time she did in fact leave the house and ran away with that man. No one knows what happened after, but I am afraid that what I warned her about may unfortunately have come to pass.

Also during that time, I had a communion where I was told that my job was just to convey the message, and not concern myself with the consequences. In 2007, during my second communion with Babaji, I was told that this could be a possible trap for me in this lifetime (please refer to this story in the blog “Babaji beyond definitions”. I was told that because of my siddhis or powers, people might come to me not because of who I am, or because of any interest in my consciousness, but only out of interest in knowing their futures. This might keep the real seekers away, leaving only the fake or pseudo-seekers looking for predictions.

One person in India recently asked me why I didn’t use this siddhi to gauge the nature of people even before I met them. I replied saying that I did not want to be caught in any kind of binding. I would like to stay liberated and help liberate others. With the gain of siddhis, there is a possibility of addiction similar to how some people get dependent on marijuana. If the usage of siddhis happens spontaneously and without premeditation, it is all right. The mind naturally desires these siddhis or powers, but they can be detrimental if not handled with maturity. It’s just like when you reach the position of CEO, you automatically get the attached perks and privileges. Similarly, in the spiritual journey you will also easily obtain siddhis upon attainment of subtle levels or elevation.

So, whenever I meet someone, I prefer to learn about them in the usual way – from what they themselves tell me, rather than employing my powers to divine the details. Operating at the lowest available point keeps ego in check and prevents misuse of siddhis.

Let Your Love Expand to the Whole World

Satsang with Mohanji in Canada on 21st August, 2015, part 2

10610495_953560228035048_8921720266955929222_nQ: If something is happening in my life, whether good or bad, but let me consider a not good thing, how do I know whether I am getting result of previous karmas or I am creating new karma? Is karma creating kriya or is kriya creating karma?
A: If you have surrendered completely to Baba or anybody, none of these things matter. If you are in a worship or surrender mode, whether it is your karma or acquired karma, that doesn’t matter. Why? Because you manifest whatever you are supposed to experience. Look at both scenarios.
One is a scenario when you are in a surrender mode, “Ok, this is happening through me, I don’t own it. I’m just a tool or medium of manifestation.” Good enough. It goes through you and finish – there is no residue.
Now imagine that you have not surrendered. You are actually experiencing it 100% with all its impact, anger, hatred. In that mode, that is exactly what you are supposed to experience. Otherwise that would not have manifested. You chose that experience, whether it is your karma or acquired karma.

What is kriya? Kriya is a technique which mixes an activity and visualisation in a particular mode, to attain a particular result- basically liberation. You are doing everything to liberate yourself. So even if you experience anger or fear, you can use these to liberate yourself from them. You use a diamond to cut another diamond. The same principle can also be used for liberation if you choose to. E.g. If you are having an argument. You look at it, ‘Ok, I argued and I had a fight. Now, what is this whole thing about? What did I experience?’ The next time you realise this is an illusion, it loses its value. Then it doesn’t even manifest. Then how will it happen? There is no deep value of any of the situations in life. If you want to express anger, e.g. you want to educate children and they are all playing around not listening to you. You want to make them sit down and be disciplined. At that point in time you would say, “If you don’t do that, I will be violent” or “I will be angry.” Then what is happening? You are not angry, but you are using a tool for a particular reason. That is your strength. Any weakness can be changed into a strength through awareness. I am giving you the awareness in your doership mode or in your surrendered mode. Instead if we become a victim, it means mind occupies you and enslaves you. In that mode, there is no redemption. If your mind enslaves you and you are constantly abusing in an angry mode, you need a fundamental shift- a change in the interior. Kriyas are tools to cut across the web of karma and take you to liberation. There are various types of kriya, but how you use one is based on what you are, on your capacity.

11947617_947318628659208_3483058106058405042_nQ: When we face situations anxiously, e.g. when I see the suffering of my child, or any loved one, how do we get the strength to withstand that it is his karma and should I just close my eyes?
A: There are a few aspects of it.
The first aspect is dharma and karma. You have the dharma of a mother to take care of the child, but you don’t have control over the child’s karma- since the child chose you, not the other way around. You never knew that this man is going to take birth as your child. That particular soul chose you to manifest in this world through your family. The reason doesn’t matter, but the reality is that your mother dharma is in full flow, until the child is of ego age– when he can take his own decisions. Until then, you are totally responsible. After that also, there is responsibility, but again, when a man is on an ego plane (ego plane does not mean egocentric, it means manifesting his own identities and he is independent), you are only his friend. He may take your advice or he may not take your advice.
The second aspect is ‘my child’ means there is an ownership. Ownership is equal to pain. It is not ‘my’ child. The child happened through you. In the right time you have provided food, the right bed, medicine etc. so that he can be a man. You nurture a child to become an able person. That is what you should have done and you have done it. Until certain age, you definitely need to look after the child as pitru dharma or mother dharma. After that stage, children should look after their parents. That is the putra dharma. There are stories of the son carrying the father and the mother on the shoulder… these are definitely recommended because they liberate you. When you are totally performing the duty of a mother and a father and a child, it liberates you. That means you are paying the debt for using the womb or experiencing the motherhood.
After some time the motherhood should expand to the whole world and say, “All are my children.” When you nurture the motherhood in you, pain and ownership are less because you shifted from singular motherhood to universal motherhood. Everything is you. This is exactly what Baba says – serve all. Human beings, birds, animals, trees, plants- all are your children. You can be mother so someone older than you too. That leads to detachment (vanaprastha). ‘Ok, my children and these children are the same. For the world, I am a mother.’ So your motherhood manifests 100% in full capacity, and in that mode everybody is your child. Your equanimity raises and your anxiety goes down.
All women are mothers. Womanhood is equal to motherhood. No man can ever satisfy any woman. A child can.

Mohanji quote - No man can fulfill the woman ..

Now, there are some people who do not have children. What do they do? The moment you become a mother to the world, you are fulfilled. You are complete. There starts the liberation. Then it grows and grows and reaches a level where you are completely merged with the universe. So it is an easier path for enlightenment. Ownership reduces, satisfaction increases, you are valuable to the world. Ownership and “I am responsible until he dies or until I die” is not true because you can’t interfere in another person’s karma. They chose the karma. They came through you and as a kind person, you suggest or offer whatever is the best for them all the time. You can say, ‘Look here this is good for you. Try it.’ But you can’t insist on it. The moment you insist, you interfere in the karma. But you can suggest. Like that we go on.
There are too many old-age homes, various capacities. That is because parents bother the children too much. Children after a certain time, need freedom and expression. If the parents control them at that time, they put them in the old age home as soon as they can.

Q: If one commits assisted suicide, is it cutting your karma?
A: It is the same as suicide, it doesn’t matter if you asked other person to do it for you.
Q: Does it mean that you didn’t finish your karma?
A: Yes. It is an unnatural thing and hence not good. Murder or suicide has the same effect.
Q: So you need to come back and finish it?
A: Yes. The same and even worse traumas. You have to accept life and move on as it is. Because you manifested it. Then continue with it.
Q: And if you are ill and dependent on people?
A: That’s what you chose. That’s what I said- the impressions you are storing have value. Hence all religions talk about service. People carry many traumas, see the world. When you are constantly aware of things beyond you, life becomes purified. If you do something about it, you become completely pure. It liberates you. You must see around and help the way you can.

11903824_947314028659668_2608969920592484727_nQ: If the people around you are having a hard time looking after you, you lost your mind and don’t know what is going on. Is it part of their karma?
A: It’s all collective karma. If there is rain in Canada, everybody will get drenched irrespective of your personal karma.
Q: So if my brother is in hospital on life support in total coma, and the doctor asks you to make a decision whether to cut it off?
A: Pumping up a person and keeping him alive is not a good idea. It’s our selfish interest – he is ready to leave and you are artificially keeping him alive. It is completely silly. Allow him to have a decent death. It goes without saying you must allow the person to have a natural death. Why do we keep pumping up somebody for somebody’s sake? For medical science, death is a tragedy. But for most of these patients, the death is liberation from pains. This isn’t the same for suicide or murder. That is violence. Violence of any kind is not good – whether in thought, word or action.

Q: Once I understand that I have already interfered in someone’s karma through ownership, how do I get out of them? I have interfered, I realised, ‘Oh my god that was not my duty.’ How to get out of it?
A: First, bury the past. The past is finished. You can never go back and correct the past. You can only correct it in the present. We have not seen the future. We do not know if future exists at all. Take your mind from the past and bring your mind to the present saying, “Is there anything I can do?” If the answer is ‘yes’, do it. If the answer is ‘no’, ignore it. That’s it. Very simple. Just be very practical. Spirituality is 80% practicality. Being practical is being spiritual. It is not about performing many rituals, hoping they will help. Rituals are just for your satisfaction. God has nothing to do with it.
There are more flowers in the graveyards than in people’s houses. Why? In life, we could not honour them. After death, we try to clear our regrets. Why do we do that? Be here, now. Do what you can now and don’t think about it again. Every moment if you clear like that, life is smooth. See, you have been given a time, a situation an environment, and an awareness. Use it well. That means be here and do what you can. Forget about what you could not do in the past. You can never change it. What you could have done at the age of 25, it’s finished. Now if you want another 25, you have to take birth again. Why do we worry about 25? It’s gone. Let’s talk about the current life, current time, current age. What you can do now is reality – do it!
Don’t bring the flavour of the past to corrupt it – just let it be pure milk. If you try to bring the memories of the past and mix it in the present, “Oh, I experienced this from this man at that time. Now I don’t like him.” So what happens? The opportunity for good reconciliation or a better life is destroyed because of that memory. Is that necessary at all? That has happened – it’s over. It’s done. This is the present. Let us do something today. If you handle your life every moment, you are free, right? This is the beauty of life. And the right messages, the right ideas will come because the mind is clear. and we are not prejudiced by judgement. Your biases, prejudices and judgements definitely limit you. If you want 100% of life, you must get out of limitations. This is what the life brings – experience it.
We went to a few places yesterday and when we came back I said, ‘It already seems like past.’ That’s the way the time flows. So fast, two-three days finished! Now if you look back and try to recall how many things we did, does it matter? This is another day. We are sitting and talking. This is the speed at which we are living. So is it worth spending time for the past? What we could in that trip, we did. That awareness is sufficient. It doesn’t matter what we could have done, because we could not do it. Do we have to do a post mortem and think, “We could have done that, we should have done that…” That is the wasted time. It is a wasted exercise.
Life is a continuous travel. At every moment, you have certain availability and limitations, act in that mode at that moment. We may not get what we want due to various reasons. Why do we want to know why it never happened? It’s headache if you think like that. And also this is exactly what breeds regrets, “Oh I could have done that at that time.” You did not do, it’s ok, move on. No regret. No guilt. Because regret makes you heavy, guilt makes you heavy. And it blocks the freedom. It blocks life. The more guilt you have, the more regret you have, the less complete is your life. Many people live just on guilt and regrets and they keep telling the same thing. (Laughter) You tell other people also, “Look here, I could not do this at that time, and because of that I am like this.” I would always say, ‘Congratulations!’ (Laughter) What else to say? Why are you carrying the dead body? Bury it. Be happy you are here today, living, breathing. How can you change something in the past? There is no other option because we live in the linear time. From our first heartbeat till our last heartbeat, it’s chosen. Fixed.

A Story of Maha Kali and Avadhoota

Maha Kali
Maha Kali

(Read the full story in the blog In Search of the Precious 3)
Like Maha Kali told this avadhoota. Maha Kali was dancing in the fire with her spirits and things, so everybody gets frightened. But Avadhoota was laughing and clapping. She said, “I’ve never seen one human being who is not afraid of me. I want to give you a blessing.” He said, “I don’t want a blessing. You entertain me, I am happy.” She said, “No, no, no it’s our duty to bless.” He said, “Ok. Give me one more year of life.” She said I cannot do it because you have chosen your death. He said, “Ok, then give me one year less,” because he didn’t want anything. She said, “No, I can’t give you.” He said, “One month more?” “No.” “One month less?” “No.” “One day more?” “No. One hour more is also not possible.” Then he said, “Then you cannot give me anything.” She said, “But ask me something which I can give you.” He had his problem in his leg. His leg was swollen and emitting puss. He said, “Shift this problem from the one leg to the other.” So she did that.
The point is that you have chosen your breaths. Breath is money. If you have chosen your breaths and the number of breaths is limited, why don’t you enjoy it today? We will die anyway. Should we die with a lot of gloominess? Be happy. Whatever happened in the past is finished, whatever is in the future, we don’t know today. That’s it. This is liberation, freedom, sainthood, everything. Everything is being in now. You are not anxious about the future, nor are you carrying the weight of the past. BE HERE, NOW.

Love all, serve all.
Love all, serve all.

Increase Your Capacity, Clean the Space

Satsang with Mohanji in Canada on 21st August, 2015, part 1

Satsang with Mohanji in Canada
“Consciousness is.” Nothing else. You cannot give any attribute to consciousness.

I’ll start with this short introduction, then I’ll take your questions.

I was discussing a beautiful question, “Can you explain in simple terms what God is?” I liked it because the question emerged from a pure heart. Some people ask questions because they have nothing else to do. But a question that actually happens within you, with a pure heart, requires an answer. I said, “God is consciousness.” One-word answer is- consciousness. If you want to explain consciousness, all you can say is “Consciousness is.” Nothing else. You cannot give any attribute to consciousness.
This is all God- everything, everywhere, whatever is manifested, whatever is not manifested, whatever cannot be manifested. But we consider an object or a particular form as God because we need a medium to connect to the unmanifested. If I say God has no form, it’s a theory. Until and unless you experience God as formless, you wouldn’t know; I could be lying. So when you connect to a person who represents the consciousness beyond human limitation, then you understand, “God can be this.”
But that is just one aspect of God. All the incarnations till now have been various aspects of one God. All manifestations are representations of one consciousness; the consciousness that is everything- which can’t be contaminated, modified, lessened or magnified. This is God. So how do you understand God in simple terms? You need to understand yourself, there is no shortcut. You need to check, “How am I operating?” We always go into ‘doing’ mode, “I do so many things so I can connect to God.” There’s no surety in using rituals to connect to God. Rituals are external and driven by insecurity. The more insecure you are, the more mind-oriented you are. Mind creates need, insecurity and fear. Can you reach the consciousness while operating from the mind? That is akin to using a spoon to measure the ocean. Will you be able to measure the ocean in this lifetime or many lifetimes? These, “Am I something? Is this that?” are all from the mind.
When you entertain your mind more and more, you further detach from the God. Remember this clearly. You are not able to catch God in this life because you are using your mind to catch God. Mind is too small an equipment to connect to God. God is omnipresent, all-powerful, immeasurable and real. Everything else is fake, i.e., temporary. Whatever is permanent is real. You have only one permanent aspect in you- your soul. Everything else- body, mind, intellect, desires- is temporary. When you are constantly handling temporary matters, how do you get to the real one? The same relativity that created existence, is also creating the illusion. You get to believe, “This is it, I found it.” Then what happens? We get stuck with it.

When you are constantly connecting to an entity, to a person who revels and swims in God consciousness, you become that as well. You are going in the right direction.
When you are constantly connecting to an entity, to a person who revels and swims in God consciousness, you become that as well. You are going in the right direction.

If the operating level is of a master like Baba, Bhagawan Nithyananda, or Lord Krishna, this is absolutely fine. Because they are established in God. They are revelling in the God consciousness. When you are constantly connecting to an entity, to a person who revels and swims in God consciousness, you become that as well. You are going in the right direction. Otherwise we are in the insecure mode, begging for something and unable to connect to God.
Why aren’t you manifesting God in the insecure mode? Because primarily you are begging for something. You are constantly telling God you lack something. Nature is like a mirror: reflecting back what you give. You are looking at the world and say, “I do not have it.” So the world will tell you, “You do not have it.” You are manifesting and remanifesting the same poverty- the absence of something. We take many births, but again we request more. That means you are not happy in your own skin. If you are not comfortable in your own skin, there cannot be any progress. Do you get me?
Please understand this because this is very vital. When I visit places, I gather what are the answers to be given based on the interactions I have. Here in Canada and also the world, this particular principle is important to understand. If you constantly tell the world that you do not have something, the world will give you the same state of not having.
So what is the best way? Accept yourself as you are. There is no other way. You created this body, form, character, constitution, destiny, lifestyle. You can’t change it. You had a choice before you went to buy a car. Because you carried some money in your pocket, you decided, “This is the model I want to buy.” Good enough. Once you purchase it, can you change the model? Usually not, because they registered the car in your name. Just like that once you take the body, it’s impossible to change the constitution. Then you can change only interiors. Change the interiors, which you can – now. How do you change it? Stop the begging mode. Stop the requesting mode saying, “God I am happy. I accept myself the way I am and also whether it is good, bad or ugly; this is what I chose.’’ You chose the society you live in and the people around you as well. Accept that too. I am not saying to be a doormat but be aware. When you accept everything with equanimity, clear understanding and awareness, progress starts and you start connecting to the supreme consciousness. How? Because you start understanding the texture of creation- spontaneity and non-interference.
“Am I right? Am I doing this right? Am I ready?” This is all resistance. When we resist things, we interfere in the karma. Resistance is pain. Whatever you resist, persists. Use something to remove the obstacle and then it’s gone; otherwise we are constantly in resistance mode.
If you understood this clearly – accept and share what you have. Nobody is telling you to share only money. Sharing money may not make you rich inside. What you have, you share. If you have love, share love. If you have kindness, share kindness. If you have money, share money. If you have food, share food. It doesn’t matter what you share, but share. The more you share, the richer you will become inside. That stays with you. There’s zero guarantee that outer richness can stay with you. It keeps changing hands. The nature of money is to flow. Stagnated money, is useless money.
Likewise, nature of love is movement. You love everybody, but if you do not express, what’s the use? You have a lot of kindness inside, but if you do not express it, is it useful? What you have, share. That makes you rich inside. That removes the blockages. That is when the God starts living in you. You purify the space. When the richness grows inside, you become eligible for God to operate through you, for masters to work through you. Otherwise we are just asking for more and more and contributing nothing to the world.
So I have explained the thought “What is God? and “What are you?” If you understood this, practise it. What is God? God and soul are the same: completely neutral and always in the witness mode. If you respect your soul, you respect God. All the external Gurus are guiding you to your internal true Guru- your soul. When you find your Guru within, you found everything. The soul guides your life, establishes your experiences, or takes you through the experiences, to the highest level of awareness. Without the soul, we are a dead body. And soul has 100% free will. You don’t have 100% free will. Because you chose a life. Once you chose a life, as I said, you can’t change your constitution. To some extent, you can modify it but basics remain the same.
I’ll take questions now.

Satsang with Mohanji in Canada 1
When there is no residue of an event inside you, there is no incarnation. Impression is the root cause of a desire. Without an impression, it’s an empty canvas and there can’t be a creation further unless you (your constitution) want it.

Q: I understand your point that when you beg, you remain in poverty, and when you accept, you begin to receive. But there is also another aspect of recognising that you need to grow. How do you equate the need for growth and progress with acceptance?
A: “I need to grow.” Where does this ‘need’ come from?
Q: Sense of poverty.
A: Where does the sense of poverty come from?
Q: Not being connected to God… from your mind.
A: From the mind. So you are not the mind. The mind compares with other people and situations. You have your concept about being rich or being affluent in the society. You have your concept about your being something which you are not, that is exactly where the problem lies. But you chose a life, environment, constitution or experience and it will not be denied to you. The time, the space, the people, the environment, the knowledge and the set of experiences were chosen before you took the birth. It flows through time and at each age, we reach a different level of awareness. Fifteen years ago, you did not have the same awareness. Maybe ten years down the lane, you will have a different awareness. This is happening as per time. So life is giving you lessons. It is taking you through experiences. The more experiences you have, the more evolution you have. If there is resistance at any point in time, there is stagnation. That is registered back in your subconscious. What is registered in your subconscious becomes a pending agenda, which means a thing to do. When you have a to-do which is beyond this life, it provokes another life. So you are ensuring another life when you say, “I need this. I wanted that. This is not what I wanted.” So you constantly lack something which ensures you will have another incarnation. Or you can have clarity, “This is exactly what I chose. Let me handle it,” whether it is good, bad or ugly. With that awareness, you take each step and overcome, so that nothing stays in the mind. When there is no residue of an event inside you, there is no incarnation. Impression is the root cause of a desire. Without an impression, it’s an empty canvas and there can’t be a creation further unless you (your constitution) want it.
Q: How does karma and the need to do your karma associate with the full concept of being and letting things happen?
A: That is exactly what’s happening now. You are actually experiencing your karma, nothing else. If you are sitting here today, that is karma. Karma brought you here in this space. Karma is taking you from situation to situation, from awareness to awareness. All the masters who walked any path have told the same thing. Be aware that you are that. Whatever you are seeking is you. Whatever you are experiencing is exactly what you sought. In that moment if you experience a thing 100%, there is no need for another manifestation. If you partially experienced something, you always have a feeling I didn’t really enjoy it. E.g. if you eat a great meal while watching a match, you don’t even know what you ate. Then you may feel, ‘‘I need more. I should have the same thing.” Because the mind was absent. If the mind is present in the absolute sense, you experience life as it comes. Then everything is beautiful because it heads for completion. This is how we should live. Children live like that. They are absolutely in the moment, they experience a thing 100%, and they go on. That’s why they sometimes have a toy, they look at it, they feel it, they experience it and soon, they have no interest in it. Because whatever they do, they do 100%.
We don’t do that. We have a lot of cravings. One is laughter. We do not laugh wholeheartedly. Why? Ego controls it. Have you seen any adult laughing fully? They don’t. You see heaviness in people. Especially migrants! (laughter) Because you miss something back home but you think you could have a better life. Absolutely not, it’s not possible. This is what you chose. Laugh at life. It’s all a joke actually, it’s all a roleplay. You play various roles in life. If you keep laughing, your life will become very simple. You’ll only see the comedy part of life. You can’t see any seriousness. I’ve written a blog about it A Strange Revenge, have you seen it? Read the blog.
I have one request. All of you should read something which I have written (laughter). Because most of these questions I have answered before. I’d like you to challenge me with something new… If you spend ten minutes a day with a blog or video, not for my sake, not for me, but so that you are aware and so that you can make use of my time in a much better way. You will understand and ask beyond it. Otherwise, like Shirdi Baba said, people come to me not for the Highest, but for small things. What can I give them? They are coming with small cups. I fill them up. It’s easy. Bring a bucket to me! That’s what I like to see. Bring me something large. That means you increase your capacity, not that you bring a few of your insecurities. I’ll solve it for you, there is no problem. But that is not the end of your insecurities, understand. When you leave a vacuum where insecurities had existed, that space will be occupied by further insecurities. It is not going to be occupied by God unless you clean the space.
Q: If we have chosen everything, then we have chosen how we would die, haven’t we? Why would somebody choose a painful death?
A: It’s not a choice of that level. I’ll tell you a story.

11781707_947314115326326_8745038297842083706_nA STORY OF KARMA
One woman married a guy she liked, but of a different religion. According to his religion, contraception was prohibited. So she was delivering a baby almost every year. After a dozen babies, she would ask God for only one thing, “Please stop this!” But it was too late in that life. When she was born in the next life, she faced a situation of no children. She started praying to God, “Please give me a child!” Do you see what happened? A manifestation which cannot happen in one life, becomes real in another life.
I’ll tell you another scenario.

Some people have a fear of flying because of some past karma. They fear a catastrophe. Eventually, the trapped fear becomes a manifestation. When you have a constant fear about something, it persists, you are energising it. If it can’t happen in this life, you will have a manifestation of it in another life. It’s not a conscious choice. Replace that fear with faith. ‘I have this fear, I do not like it, but I surrender it at your feet.’ You detach from it and overcome it. Instead, you are nurturing a fear- fear of failure, fear of not having a job, fear of having no money. Everything will manifest at some point in time because that has been a thought in your mind. Thought is the first level of creation. But nobody consciously chooses an accident. The wrong thought and the wrong nurturing becomes a reality of a catastrophic mode.
You can see that happening in everyday life. We scare children that if they don’t eat the food, police will come. So they become scared of police. When they meet a policeman, they are not cordial with him because they have a fear. Likewise when children fall down, some people slap the ground and say, ‘Oh, because of this the child fell down.’ What did the child learn? To blame something else. We are making the child insecure. Instead, you could tell the child, ‘Oh, you fell down, it’s ok, everyone falls down. Failure is ok, after failure is success. Get up. Walk.” If you cultivate positivity, the child will learn to handle life as it comes. Otherwise they will only have insecurity.
Understand creation is complex. It’s not just action or reaction. What you think, what you represent, what you nurture, you manifest.
Q: On a day-to-day basis, we come across many situations, sometimes the job goes away, or we are anxious whether our child will get admission… Is there a quick tool so that realisation comes down so that you can easily detach from these thoughts?
A: It’s a lifestyle, not just one incident. In the morning, pray to Maha Vishnu saying take care of the day, because he is the sustainer. “Whatever I do during the day I offer at the feet of Narayana, the Lord of the survival, the maintenance.” In the night, we decide to ‘die’ which means we go to bed. We surrender to Lord Shiva and say, “Whatever I’ve done, whether it is good or bad, I surrender it at your feet.” Shiva is the lord of dissolution. At no point, do we take ownership. When we do not take ownership, there is no stress. This should be a lifestyle. That is why our elderly people who practiced it, went through life effortlessly with lesser complications.
When you take ownership, you bear the impact too. ‘I am doing it, I am the doer.’ You can see there is no humility in most children today. Humility is a culture. Arrogance is not going to give them any benefit in the future. Instead if you nurture them to say, ‘Can I help you,’ it will fetch them a lot of mileage in the future. That is why I say the hospitality industry is very good because children need to serve. If you look at Sathya Sai Baba group etc., there is a lot of emphasis on service – serve all love all. This culture can help tide through the troubles of life. Instead we look at the world in an antagonistic way: you versus the world. What you are, you get. It is important that we cultivate in children, ‘Can I help you? Is there anything I can do for you?’
Today’s children are gadget oriented. They do not care about people. They consider everybody as nuisance. What happens? They can’t face anything in life. They are not used to failure. Meanwhile education tells them, ‘Kick or kill but don’t be a loser.’ Hence the suicide rate is climbing. Actual losership is if you do not use this life to tame your mind. Then it’s basically a wasted life. You have to come back and do it again. You cannot carry anything when you die. That is why Alexander the Great spread out his empty hands in the coffin just to show that despite conquering the world, he carried nothing. He came empty-handed and he left empty-handed. These are all fundamentals of existence. Today if we need a better world, we need to be sensitive. ‘It doesn’t matter what you do but you make profit.’ We are teaching this insensitivity to children! Where will it take the world? In the last hundred years, the world has suffered more in the last century than in all history of mankind combined. We are all creators of victims of the same changes. Yet we continue to be insensitive, demanding, ‘Things are not right’. How can things be right? We have already destroyed the whole tapestry. Basic truths.
