10 on 10 on 10 – An interview

bandana

Pareen (Host): Good morning! Good evening to you if you are joining us from across the world! Welcoming you all to 10 on 10 on 10, where we all come together on the 10th of every month at 10 O’clock to meditate for 10 minutes; to merge with our collective consciousness!

Today our guest, who is guiding us, is none other than the world-renowned humanitarian, Mohanji, who believes that Humanity is our religion and Ahimsa is the way to practice it. He has devoted his life to making people aware of the higher goals such as kindness, love, and compassion and continues to strive to do this, each day.

I am very grateful to him for agreeing to guide us through this meditation today. So without much ado, Mohanji, please take it away!

Mohanji: Thank you, Pareen. Good day to all you who are listening. Without much description, I will start with the meditation.

Mohanji starts the meditation process (3min-13.08)

Pareen: I can feel a wave of calm gushing through me. We have one or two questions which we would like to ask if it is allowed.

The first question is a lot of times; people are not in touch with the compassion that resides within them. Is there a way that we can assist people in looking within and finding that compassion within, especially when it comes to expressing it towards animals?

Mohanji: The best message you can give to the world is your life if you live it. Like we talk about Mahatma Gandhi, we talk about various great leaders or legends of the past, because they lived what they believed in. The preaching and talking about it to people may have very little effect. But when you live it, it has a great effect. The biggest lesson, we can give to the world is ourselves.

We have to invest in, what we believe in; that will become a message to the world.

Mohanji

So, if we really want the world to be compassionate, we should exercise it, and we should do it, and deliver it to the world, consistently. And also, sometimes when we express compassion and kindness, unconditionally, the society may not accept it. But society will remember it. Initially, people may ridicule; people may not appreciate it; people may not accept it. But eventually, people will honour it, saying that this man or this woman was consistent in his or her conviction.

Our biggest message, the greatest message is ourselves; how we live; what we believe in, and how much determination we have, in expressing our conviction.

Mohanji

Pareen: Yes. That’s indeed a powerful message! Be the change you want to see.

Mohanji: Yes

Pareen: This will be our final question. Today being the World mental health day, it’s really important that, as activists, we take care of our mental health. Our activism comes from a place of caring, a place of love. How can we give back to ourselves and keep reminding ourselves that we need to sometimes, maybe hit reset ourselves, as well?

Mohanji: Mental health has become a question in the world because we have become unnatural, most of the time. The society or the education system has created people who are conducive or compliant, to the social, religious or other structure we have. But we are not like that.

We are a flow; we are like a river. We are natural, like a child!

A small child, is always natural, always happy, being itself. The moment we started growing up, we decided that we are adults and hence have to behave in a certain way. We have to present ourselves in a certain way, maybe even in a hypocritical way; we can see the hypocrisy also. We are projecting what we are not in various situations. All this has made us unnatural. So, we have to get back to our natural state;  being ourselves, being totally ourselves

How do we measure that state? It’s very simple. When you are natural, you’re effortless. When you are unnatural, when you have to wear a mask, you have to make an effort for it. Like for example, anger is not natural. Anger is something that violates the inside, right? But love is natural; it doesn’t violate anything inside; Kindness is natural! Compassion is natural!

So, we have to go natural, and what expands you, what makes you happy, liberated, and free, that is exactly what we should perform.

And as I said earlier, not everybody may accept you as naturally as you are, because people bring expectations. This is their problem. We are not here to cater to the expectations of other people. We are here to demonstrate what we believe in; that is our expression. Our natural expression, or what we are, as we express it, that’s the most authentic thing. But if you try to be somebody else, if you try to pretend, if you try to adapt to some requirement of the society, which we are not; then it will all go crazy.

The basic reason for the mental or emotional fluctuations is because of these unnatural things; because of compulsions. We are compulsively doing things, or are compelled to follow certain principles or methods, which is not suitable for us. I always believe that mental health is a serious affair; we have to start from the school days.

When we put a lot of pressure on a child to study that which a child doesn’t have a taste for, a child is never natural. And we bring up a child to study for the sake of a job or career or money. The child has no time to be himself or herself. This is a fundamental issue. That is why we have to discuss mental health. Such a problem leads to depression and various complexes. It also leads to a feeling that life is not good; that life can never be justified, and so on. People commit suicide, right? All these extreme situations are happening because we have not identified the imbalances happening due to social pressure.

At the same time, in our old system, we had the balance. We know that children were taught what they are suitable for. They were not taught something as per the social needs. And such people lived well; a person likes to make clothes will make clothes; some person likes to do cobbler work, they will do that; someone will become a doctor. A person’s inclinations will take the person forward. So, this is important. We need to understand; everybody is unique. Nobody’s higher; nobody’s lower; nobody is equal. All of us are unique, and that uniqueness is exactly what makes our minds stable. Understanding that uniqueness, accepting that uniqueness, expressing that uniqueness, makes us stable. We deserve it; we have the right for it.

It is our responsibility as adults to take care of children, and also the society as every child is the property of society. Society has the responsibility; society has to bring up children to be as unique as possible so that the world will be brilliant. Whenever there is inequality, whenever there is mental imbalance; there is violence. We can cut down on all the violence and also set aside the religions and look at Humanity as the most important thing in the world. You know, it’s not about religious dogmas, it’s about Humanity.

And what we can do as human beings in the world, how we can take care of the world, how can we deliver a better world to the next generation. This should be our only objective in this world.

Pareen: Yes. Indeed, being true to ourselves and following that path and letting everyone else be on their journey as well.

Mohanji: Lead by example.

Pareen: Thank you. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us today.

Mohanji: Thank you for inviting me. And thanks to all of you for being here with us.

We are the World

Mohan

Hello, my friends, welcome to another episode of Mohanji Speaks. I hope you have enjoyed the previous episodes and hope you have discussed them with your friends. Probably some clarity would have happened inside. That was the intention.

Now, here we talk about a new thought. This is the thought that many of us have asked ourselves. What is this world? Who are we? What am I? All these things. The point that we would like to discuss here today is, we are the world. The world is us. I’ll explain.

There are numerous expressions on Earth. All the human beings, all the species, Nature, the plants, the trees, the animals, the birds, the water, the air, the sun, the moon, and all the things that we see around are expressions. All these put together is the variety of life. We are also an integral part of that, we as human beings, as a species, and we as individuals. We are all an integral part of this whole existence. This is what we are talking about today. Who is the world? What is the world? We are the world.

role

We all have a role to play. This role that we play must be with full awareness, or this role must be understood with full awareness. If we don’t understand this role clearly, we are almost operating in an unconscious mode. I think many of us agree with that. We wake up in the morning and we don’t know what to do. We do so many things mostly in an unconscious way, we do so many things just because we like to do it, or we are habitually doing it. It’s habitual, not that we really wanted to do that thing. We are habituated to have coffee in the morning or tea in the morning. We are habituated to have breakfast. These are all habits. If you take our whole life, we are mostly run by habits; that means subconscious. How much is the conscious mind at work? Very little. Because we are often not even aware of our activity, we are doing it in an unconscious mode, because we are used to it. Habits mean unconsciously, more or less, almost mechanically doing it. Multitasking is almost like unconscious because when you’re thorough with something you don’t have to really focus on it, you can multitask. But when you really have to focus on each action, you can’t, you can only do one thing. That’s the real work, that’s a real thing. A cluster of these activities put together is what we call life.

When we look at the whole world, when we understand the world, when we feel the world, we must also remember; we are the world, and our contribution is very important. Many people live and die; we don’t even know them. There are 7.5 billion people, many, many faces, many countries, many people, many types of people, but they’re all the same. We don’t even see them. We don’t recognize most of the people, we don’t see them. We recognize very few people in the world. And these people whom we recognize, whom we can call successful people or people who are known – they have invested themselves or invested in cleansing themselves or cleaning themselves to remove the clutter, and they have focused on an activity, which is close to their heart. And they’ve invested in an activity.

world1

When you invest in an activity, you should believe in it, otherwise, it doesn’t work. When you’re sure about an activity, it can be a profession, it can be an idea, it can be a concept – whatever you believe in, invest yourself totally. In 2003 when the newspaper people asked me, what’s your investment in Ammucare, I said, “Myself.” There’s only one thing you can really invest, yourself. And if you invest yourself totally with conviction, there’s no way failure can happen because Nature helps you. Nature LOVES people who have conviction. Most of us do not have conviction in our actions. If we have no conviction in the action, actions become so weak that they do not get the required result. In order to be successful in life, in order to express yourself in the world, in order for you to become the world to people, you’ve got to invest yourself. There’s no other way. Investing yourself is the best investment. But then you should believe in what you do otherwise it will all be vague. You should believe in what you do and invest yourself totally, and then you can see that you are actually progressing. Otherwise, we are procrastinating. Most of us do not go forward or we have disappointments because we have not invested ourselves in it.

Have we put ourselves fully in our actions? Have we really put ourselves in our actions, in our thoughts, in our expressions? If yes, success is just around the corner, for sure. Don’t worry about planetary positions; don’t worry about the likes and dislikes of the people around you. People may call you crazy, people may call you mad. People may agree with you, disagree with you, it doesn’t matter if you are sure about the activity that you’re doing. If you have full conviction over your actions, then nobody can stop you, you become a powerhouse. So that’s the real expression that makes you the world for a lot of people.

I’m leaving this thought on your plate. What is the world? We are the world! We decide how the world should be. Let us decide that the world should be harmonious. The world should have one religion, humanity. The best religion for the whole world of human beings is humanity. Humanity also means all-encompassing kindness, compassion, unconditional love, and selflessness towards all the beings of the Earth. All beings are the same on Earth. For Nature, for Mother Earth, there are no differences between beings; they are all using certain faculties of Mother Earth for their own gratifications as we do. So, we have no right to control, capture, manipulate, and destroy, anybody or any species, period. We must understand that all the species on Earth are interdependent and not for humans’ sake. That’s a very, very wrong thought – that this entire world is for us, one species; absolutely not. It’s for every species; we are all the same in the eyes of Nature.

We

So, harmony, humanity, nonviolence, these are the qualities which we would like to deliver into this world, as perfect human beings, as quality human beings, as powerful human beings. And that’s why we talk about getting up early in the morning as the Ayurveda says. Between 9 pm and 12 midnight, the body repairs itself. That means we must sleep at that time. The body needs sleep to repair itself. Between 9 pm to 12 is the right time to sleep for the sake of the body, the body repairs itself. Between 3 am to 6 am is the time when the mind repairs itself. So this is the time when you should get up. And you should feed the mind with good thoughts. When we do that, in that manner, we will see that the Earth is also better because we are healthy, we are balanced, and we give that balance to the Earth, to Mother Nature.

I leave you with these thoughts. Think it over, discuss it, share it with your friends. And let’s come out with something beautiful. Let’s nurture it, let’s perfect it.

I’m always with you and I love you. This is Mohanji.

Time to Unify Based on Love – part 2

Mohanji Speaks – Zoom satsang, part 2
on 10 November 2019

Question 1: How can I get out from self-sabotage, fear, conformity and the paradigm of the impossible?

Well, that’s very simple. As I explained in the beginning, it has to start with accepting yourself. There is some element in you which is not accepting yourself fully. And you probably are depending on other people’s opinion about you for your acceptance of yourself. But please understand, nobody can understand you, sometimes even you cannot understand yourself. Because you are a full and complete being, if you really accept and understand that aspect of you, where you are full and complete, then you will spontaneously feel no kind of expectations, judgments, or criticisms about yourself in you. Only we can raise ourselves or pull ourselves down.

It is all our story. This is a unique story and we are the author of this story. Because of our authorship we have this life. This person or this book of life is written by us. What we call destiny is our script. So, if you really accept yourself, you will not sabotage yourself. Sabotaging also happens with expectations, which you probably derived from the society, somebody told you that you should do like this. We also have a lack of acceptance in us.

If you look at everyday life, we will feel that. There are so many factors which we don’t like. “Oh if only I was like that… If only I was like this.” We have a certain benchmark; we have certain expectations. They are all unnecessary. We are what we are, whether we take it or leave it. There’s nothing you can do about it. Because this is the script you made for this life right from your birth till death. The script is well written. All the people coming into your life who are giving you experiences and flavours are all connected to the script. You allowed them, you allowed these people, you allowed these situations, and all these happenings are your choice. If you look at it as a drama, the whole drama from birth to death, you allowed all these people who are walking in your life, you allowed all the experiences. So, all you have to do now is just witness, watch this drama and be happy. Because there’s nothing you can do now. If you want to have another script, you have to take another life.

11

Question 2: Is reciprocating the bond between a dog or any animal and its human expression, a type of bhakthi?

In any kind of bonding or any kind of relationship, don’t look at them as animals, people, etc. Then you won’t understand. Understand that every being coming to you is a soul in action. They are all souls in action. So, when they are coming close to you, think about why they are coming closer to you, because there is a connection. So, the cause is a connection, which is a continuation, and the duration depends on the intensity of the connection. The flavours or emotions that we share with them as well are connected to this connection.

If you look at the whole picture, so many beings have come to you and given you experiences, not just human beings. But we have a special kind of feeling towards human beings because we are of that species, not because we have something else to do with human beings. All relationships have their unique flavour and their relevance. We must accept all relationships as the same. What caused it? It doesn’t matter. How long it will last? It doesn’t matter. Right now, you have it; experience it. That’s all. Life has to be looked at that way. Right now, we have it. This is our time; this is our experience, that’s it. What will it be tomorrow? We do not know. What about yesterday? It has finished. So, we look at life like this.

We don’t know who all will be with us tomorrow. Whether it will be an animal body, bird body or a human body, it doesn’t matter. Who will live with you or walk with you, be with you forever in the future? We don’t know. And how long will we be with them, walk with them, talk with them? We don’t know because, we don’t know when we will die. There are so many things which we do not know. What you know is the reality. Right now, you are listening to me and I’m talking to you. This is a truth. This is a reality and that’s about it. Next hour, we don’t know. Basically, past is finished; future we don’t know. So, don’t worry about these two. Right now, we are here. You make the best out of it. That’s it.

12

Do not look at the body and underestimate the soul. The soul is the same and it has taken various bodies. In the story of Krishna, when the Avatar was happening; Krishna was taking birth and various beings decided to come as cows, calves etc. so that they could touch him, and they could be with him. Various beings decided to come even as grass where he walks so his feet would fall on them. Such things like that can happen. So, everything has its relevance. Do not underestimate the grass or even a falling leaf. Everything has its flavour. Everything touches you, if you look around, if you witness the light, witness the world. Everything will touch you from deep within, and it has its relevance.

Also understand, at the end of the day, life is equal to the experiences that you have. So, make your experiences beautiful. We must completely remove all the anger, hatred, jealousy etc. All those things are not needed. Just be plain and simple and accept the world as it comes. Accept the people as they come and accept the whole dimensions of life as they are, so that you have no conflict; you have no resistance; you are in total acceptance and then see how beautiful your life is.

Question 3: How do we know if we are in a purification mode or just suffering because of ignorance?

Suffering is always ignorance. There’s no other way. Suffering cannot be of something else. When you are fully aware, you won’t suffer. Ramana Maharishi had cancer. When somebody asked him if he has pain, he said, “I have pain, but I have no suffering.” Understand that suffering is a choice. Suffering is usually due to resistance. When total acceptance happens, there is no way you will be suffering. In total acceptance mode, there is zero suffering.  Whenever there is resistance, we tend to suffer.

13

Purification is very simple. It’s an every-moment thing. You can always be on purification mode. How? Make sure all your thoughts, words, and actions are selfless. You have no enemies. You have no anger, hatred, jealousy, revenge, etc., and you have no negative feelings about anybody on Earth. Everybody has done their part in your life. Some have given you good experiences. Some have given you bad experiences. They’re all experiences at the end of the day. You have lost nothing. Because you have abundance of experiences, you should be rich. The richness that you have, the scars on your face, should talk about your survival, not your pains and sufferings. It should be a life of strength, power and abundance. Abundance happens only through acceptance.

Generally, we resist so many things. We don’t even enter an experience because we are afraid. Then, that part is completely removed from life. Instead, we should focus on what is. This is what has been given to you; this is the time, this is the place, this is the situation, these are the people, these are the experiences. Use that hundred percent and enjoy that experience. Whatever the result is, it doesn’t matter. When you are in pain, go into the depth of the pain and come out victorious. When you have happiness, dive into the depth of happiness and come out victorious. When you have suffering, go deep into suffering and come out of it. Happiness or sorrow, you should dive deep into everything and come out of it. You will see that you are fully yourself. It will be a life well lived.

Whatever happens in life, always surrender at the feet of your Master if you have a Master (Guru), or at the feet of the Lord, if you have a Lord that you worship. Whatever religion you are, whatever method you follow, it doesn’t matter. If you do not believe in God, keep surrendering at the feet of the existence because, existence has provided all these. Whether your connection is with a Guru, a teacher, or a God that you imagine, or the supreme consciousness, pure brightness, whatever it is, keep surrendering everything and say, “Thank you, I’m feeling grateful.” Live every moment with gratefulness. Then you are rich. A life well lived.

Mohanji’s Message on Corona Virus Pandemic – 19th March 2020

Today, I would like to talk about two aspects of human existence. This is also in the wake of Corona virus, where there are reportedly 200,000 infected people in the world, about 90,000 people have recovered and about thousand people are dead. As I understand, the death is not because of the corona virus itself, but because of the immunity which is taken away by the corona virus that has killed the people. This means there were other illnesses which became predominant and which took over the person and that killed them. This is my understanding. In any case, I would like to say that there is no room for fear. There is room for precaution. There is room for prevention, but there is no room for fear. I do not believe in fears. We cannot live a life just with fear.

In this context, I would like to address two aspects of our very existence in the modern day. One is the walls.

Walls

We have created consciously or unconsciously, many walls.  Walls means W, A, L, L, S; just walls – barriers or boundaries. If you look at your own existence, you will know how many walls you have, which is mostly acquired from this life. Some have been inherited from the family, from the society, from the education; some you have created yourself. So, we have various walls.

Education sometimes is a wall; education of certain nature, like education for the sake of a job, profession, social status, etc. There are boundaries to it. It is not a free flowing education. I’m talking about this in context of how education used to be in India during the pre-British rule. A student approaches the teacher. The teacher understands the taste, the inclination of the student, and he guides him towards the right education, where he needs to hone his skills, where he needs to increase or strengthen his strengths, already existing strengths. We are all a bundle of strengths and weaknesses, all of us, everybody, and nobody is only striving. We are strengths and weaknesses. The right education is to reinforce the inherent strength because human beings are driven by inclinations, tendencies. That’s the driving force. We are all moving, walking, talking tendencies, we are tendencies, and we are inclinations. That’s exactly what we are. There’s no way we can have an education, which is contrary to our inclination. That’s why some people gravitate towards medicine; some people go to arts and science, music and dance. Some people go to engineering, some people like military, they’re all connected to inclinations but sometimes not to inclinations. Sometimes the motive is profit and their life is not successful. When you really follow your own strength, you are a powerful personality. When you strengthen your strengths, in a very determined way, ignoring your weaknesses, while they exist side by side with your strengths; if you ignore them and don’t pay much attention, they will exist but they wouldn’t bother you. Usually, we try to hide our weaknesses and try to portray an image of invincibility in this world and that affects us, which really affect us. That affects us adversely. We try to tell the world that you look here; I’m all strengths, only strength. I’m all strengths. It doesn’t work that way. We are all strengths and weaknesses. We are all black and white; we are everything – all human beings. We are all everything that the world has.

Humans in the cage, animals free - covid19 - Mohanji quote

We must accept it. There is no other way. And we enhance that acceptance. In the old times, the education was in tune with the inclinations and strengths and that was making successful people. When I say success, it is contentment; every moment – contentment, every moment – satisfaction, every moment – peace. This is what success in life is. It’s not that you made a lot of money and you created more walls, more protection, highly insecure, and always worried whether this money will go away. That’s not a good life. That is not success. Material success is often not success. If you’re too attached to money, if you’re too attached to anything outside of you, it is against you. You are being a watchman of something which you have collected. That’s not a good idea, you can’t sleep.

What is success? Success is contentment, every moment – happiness. When you complete what you came for, you will be successful. When you are happy with your life, you’re successful. When every moment brings you happiness and peace, you are successful. It is not about money. It is not about position. It is not about relations. This is all different.

Now, coming back to the walls, why do we create walls? Basically, to create a smaller atmosphere for ourselves to feel successful. This is because we do not have complete satisfaction with our own life. So we create the wall of education, certificates, various certificates, we create the wall of experience, another level of another wall, another level of defined walking space.

Then we have social positions, materials. We have concepts. We have considerations, we have likes and dislikes. We have prejudices. We have a lot of different walls around us. And all these walls have bound us without doubt. They have been binding us and then we settle for temporary, imaginary satisfaction, imaginary contentment, saying, “I am very contented with my family. I’m happy with my children. I’m happy with my car. I’m happy with my possessions. I’m happy with my social position.” These are all happiness which you peg with something outside of you. If something changes, suddenly there is a fall. You wouldn’t know what to do. This is what is happening in the society under the threat of corona virus. You can see that happening. For so many people, their movements are restricted, their activities are restricted, and their purchasing power is restricted. Opportunities are restricted. Travel is restricted. Expressions are restricted. People fall into traps of the mind. Insecurities, anger, hatred, anxieties, and a whole lot of different emotions pulls you down. And the sum total of most of this is a heavy level of depression.

People stop feeling good about themselves. They feel like failures. It is caused by situation. But at that point in time that clarity will not be there. You will feel you’re a failure as you have not allowed room for failures. You have not allowed room to fall. You have always believed that you should walk, you should run, you should always be successful. What is the price of success, it doesn’t matter. There, insensitivity takes root. So these walls are very detrimental in our life, in our happiness quotient, in our levels of success. This should be clearly understood. That’s why I took up the subject, the subject of walls, our limitations.

Mohanji quote - Practicing Positivity 42

What are our limitations? It could be a prejudice. It could be a complex. What will others think? What will four people think? Will they accept me? Will the society accept me? If I say I am connected to Mohanji, will they accept me? All these are your fears. If you’re not accepting your own reality, you’re compromising your existence. Then you stop being real to yourself. This is one thing which I would like you to contemplate because you have time now. You do have time.

Choices

Another aspect is choices. This is also connected to this reality. We mask our existence with our choices. We say, “It’s my choice. It’s my choice to drink alcohol. It’s my choice to smoke. It’s my choice to eat meat. It’s my choice to do what I want to do because I have the purchasing power. I have money. I have position or I have reason.” But choices are a broader subject. If your choices harm another being, disturbs another being, creates bad ripples in the society, they are not good choices. They are selfish choices. Taking this time, I think you should consider your choices deeply. Have you been harming lives because of your choices? Have you been insensitive because of your choices? Have you been indifferent in life, because of your choices? If you have been, time to rethink, time to make a difference, and this is a good time to introspect, to correct, and to put it right in the right track.

I have explained before what is the right track. What is the right way to live? Selflessness is the right track. Selflessness is the right way to live, because you brought nothing from anywhere when you came here. You were born with nothing in hand. And when you die, you take nothing from here. You die with your hands free, empty. If you understand this, you understand that we are here on a tourist visa just for some time. We can own nothing from here. Earth does not belong to us. We can take nothing from here. All our positions, possessions, relations are all temporary. Nothing is permanent.

Mohanji quote - Choices of life

Then, what is reality? Reality is right now, what’s happening right now. In that context, what is the purpose of life? Your experiences of yesterday, today, tomorrow and day after are the purpose of life. Your experiences are the purpose of life. One diversion to it is expressions. Your expressions are also your own unique expressions, the way you are. If you are borrowing expressions, if you are comparing with others, if you’re competing with others, it all goes in a negative mode. Otherwise, your original expressions as you have been, as you are; that’s also your original reason for coming here, for walking this earth.

With this body, you have time duration definitely. In that mode, when you say it’s my choice to kill somebody, it’s my choice to harm the economy or ecology, it’s my choice to do what I like, think again. Think once more. Is your choice harming you? Is your choice harming the world? Is your choice making a bad difference in this world? Take a U turn. Start corrections now. Correct all that you have done so far. Forget about the past because you can do nothing about it. That’s over. Now, the future is at hand. Today is the right day for that. Take a turn for the right. Be selfless now. Forget about selfishness, all your greed, anger, hatred, jealousy, revenge, character assassination, whatever, gossips, everything that you have been doing, forget it. It’s over. Finished. Look at reality as of now. What is the reality? You are alive! That’s the primary reality. You are walking, talking, thinking. This is your reality. Your existence is your reality.

Remove all the walls, education, time, religion, and people, all the walls which you have created around yourself and stay as naked as you are, as you came, not physically but mentally – fresh, totally fresh. Then look at life. Life is also fresh. Life is as how you are. Your life is as you are. Your life is always as you are. You create it, you un-create it. You make it, you break it. There is no reason for blaming anybody for your life. You created it. You brought this reality. You brought these relations, you brought these positions and possessions not from anywhere, but because you earned it due to your merits, due to whatever reasons. So have gratitude for what you have. You should be grateful for what you have. You should also think, now that I’m walking this world, how will the next generation accept this world from me? How will you deliver this world to the next generation? It should be better than what you have got.

Mohanji quote - Practicing Positivity 36

If you take that decision, that’s the right decision. That’s the very right decision. That means you are delivering a world much better than what you received. You have something to do there. You have reason to make a big difference within yourself and outside yourself. Each of us, 7.5 billion people have the same power, same energy, same opportunity in our sphere, in our own way, in whichever way, but we can actually make a broad, positive difference. Don’t say that you don’t have the capacity. You do have the capacity. Don’t say you have no reason or material. Everybody has some strength. As I said in the beginning, we all have our strengths. We do not need all the different strengths, we don’t have it. We do not have all the weaknesses, either. We have some weaknesses, we have some strength. Ignore the weaknesses, nurture the strength. Conglomerate with like-minded people. Wake up early. Have more time. Make a difference in the world. And because you’re walking this earth, leave the earth better for the next generation. You’ve done your part. That’s all you have to do as a human being, as a human being living your humanity. That’s all you have to do.

So, remove your walls, break the walls away, be open, be clear, and let nothing bind you. Unlearn all your concepts, prejudices. Unlearn all your theories and fears or unbind yourself, totally be free. No fear. There is no room for fear. Fear actually prevents experiences which you came for. Because of fear of society, because of fear of people or failure, we have denied experiences. Not anymore. Keep going. People may not like certain things that you do, but if your intention is pure, you are on the right track. Purity of intention – that’s all you need to think. Selflessness – that’s all you need to understand. That’s it. That’s your expression.

I wish you success. We will talk again.

And in this time of Corona virus, forced isolation, seclusion, we should use this time well to introspect, contemplate and make positive differences in our life and the life of everybody, every being in the world. Nobody should be sad because of us. Nobody should be unhappy. Make such choices. That’s the right choice.

Love you.

Mohanji

Mohanji’s Message on Corona Virus Pandemic – 18th March 2020

Hello friends,

We have been witnessing the developments in the world. We have seen the economic meltdown taking root, taking its shape. We have seen how countries react. We have seen how people react and how depressing it is to be uncertain about anything. We are seeing all this. Are you witnessing this drama unfolding? Witness! It’s interesting to watch. It is also interesting to see what happens inside us.

Human greed or human selfishness has divided the world so much in the name of religion, in the name of language, in the name of so many other factors. But many of these divisions did not give any value to human existence, this is what I feel. I strongly feel that. Humanity has not improved over the years, in the last 50 years, hundred years, 150 years, or 200 years. We have over emphasized on religions, religious divisions and finally, we ended up looking at people in terms of religions, not humans, not a species. Essentially, we need to look at everything as one. Every species has its own value. Every human being is from one species – human species. So, what should be the right operating method? What should be the religion? Humanity!  What is the right sign of refinement? Kindness, compassion, selflessness. So, if selfishness has divided the world, it takes selflessness to unite the world. This is a great time and opportunity to unite the world through selflessness, through goodness, through kindness, through unconditional love, through compassion. It is a very good opportunity.

Today, I heard that all the shopping malls are closed, all the film, movie theatres are closed, all the swimming pools and gyms are closed, and airports are almost closed with very few flights. When all these things are happening, it means most of our public, social gathering, locations and occasions are taken away.

How do we feel?

Mohanji - satsang - India-March 2020

We feel bottled up. We feel suffocated. This feeling of suffocation should be used in a positive way.

Number one is Introspection. What in us is reacting to what? What is bothering us, what is affecting us?

Secondly, even if you have money, you do not know, you do not have avenues for spending it. This is suffocation. You may have many things to do but you can’t do it because transportation is affected, offices are closed. Communication systems are still working, but we do not know whether there will be a shutdown in communication systems also. I heard in some countries, there has been overwhelming communication and the systems got shut down, just crashed temporarily but that is suffocation. That is also suffocation.

Today fortunately, we can talk. I’m talking and you can listen, we are discussing. We are lucky to have that. But we do not know for how long. 100 years ago or 200 years ago, it was not possible to talk and feel each other so freely. Today we have it. But at the same time, we have all been gadget-oriented since the last 50 years. We have been depending on gadgets or gadgets have been ruling us, which accented our insensitivity, which accented our ability to be humans because we don’t have to meet people. We don’t need eye contacts. We don’t need to feel people’s emotions, how they feel. Instead, we are only focused on opinions and concepts – concepts of people, opinions of people. So,  we eclipsed the truth with all these opinions and concepts; or opinions and concepts eclipsed the real reality – the truth, but we bought it. We bought what the social media is talking; we bought what the mainstream media is talking. We bought or we consumed, what the politicians are speaking, or the religious leaders are speaking. Most of these talks had a profit motive. There is a reason for those talks. That’s not probably benevolent for humanity, in the sense, that if divisions are happening with these conversations, they’re not benevolent for humanity. Selfishness causes divisions. It takes selflessness to cause unification and this is the time for unification.

One virus has actually put a question mark in front of our eyes. What are you? What is life? Every animal on this earth has been asking humans this question all the time, non-verbally because they can’t talk. If any of the animals can talk, the stories they would say would literally shake us. We haven’t thought about that. The torture and the suffering of all the beings, even human beings for that matter, has been a cause for concern. Definitely.

And with this new economic meltdown, people are scrambling or the governments are scrambling to amass whatever they can hold on and help stabilize the economies. I believe that they will think twice before waging wars, otherwise, wars were rampant. There have been too many wars, too many complications. Too many things which were not good for humanity has been happening all the time. We have been quite insensitive about it. We’ve been quite unconcerned about it. We never cared about it.

88965240_2890464847677900_5381980328426471424_o

So, this is indeed the time when you need to think. Introspect. Connect to yourself, feel yourself, ask questions to yourself, as to you versus this world that we use for our experiences. We are using this platform called world for our own experiences. We are using this unconsciously, almost taken it for granted. We never really cared how the earth feels because we are walking on it. It is time. It’s really time to think. It’s time to think beyond caste, country, culture, colour, community and religion. It is time. It is time to reconsider non-violence – Ahimsa – in thoughts, words, and actions. It’s time. That lifestyle of love, compassion, kindness is essential today. This is needed for the future of earth and the future of man on earth, future of human beings on earth because we never cared about forests. We never cared about ecology. We never actually built anything positive from this whole lifestyle. Instead, we have been demanding more and more. We have been screaming for rights, while we never talked about responsibilities.

It is our responsibility to take care of the nature. It is our responsibility to care about the human species. It’s our responsibility to care about all the species because we are supposedly a refined species. How do we know we are refined? If our attitude is that of unconscious insensitivity, we are not refined. Refinement should be visible through kindness, compassion and we should unite the world through love. Love is a very powerful tool. You can never underestimate it. Today, we cannot even hug a person or shake hands with a person. We can’t express humanity in this condition of virus. Look at what we have seen and what we are experiencing, right now. These are all warning bells. These are warning signs, signs of times. These are signs of times.

So, we all should reach out to all whom we can and spread the positivity. Bring the unity, bring humanity to life. Human beings should bring humanity. The right religion for human beings is humanity. You can worship any way you like, based on your gunas. How is your disposition? How is your orientation? How is your inclination? You can worship any God, any religion, doesn’t matter; but humanity first, beyond religions. Religions cannot save you in these kinds of times, humanity can. Humanity should be expressed through no wars, no discord, no division; this is important.

Now again, we are experiencing a few days of isolation. We are experiencing restrictions. We are experiencing so many things which should give us a good amount of realization. It should lead to transformation.

In my life, I have never told anybody that I’m enlightened. I have never told anybody I am their guru or I am the master or I am a great personality or I have any greatness. All of us have greatness. All of us have realizations sitting in us but it needs an environment, a kind of silence, a kind of stability, to awaken it. And this is the time when you’re getting it.

First and foremost, you as a human being versus the world is the first level of realization. How much of dependency we have on materials, people, relations, locations, time, spaces, and activities. Look at the levels of dependency! That’s reflected in the levels of suffocation, when it’s not accessible. This is the first point.

Second point – look within and see what’s getting affected within you, because of non-availability of many of these things.

The third point is – are you affected the same way when you are sleeping, when you are dreaming, etc. So, this is only during the waking state when your identifications are strong.

Human beings have three predominant energy disposition or energy expressions. It’s called Iccha Shakti, Jnana Shakti, and Kriya Shakti. Iccha Shakti is willpower. Jnana Shakti is the power of knowledge and Kriya Shakti is the power of action. If these are balanced, your life is effective. When I say effective life, it is the life where you live as a human being, an epitome of kindness and compassion, unconditional love, selflessness, living for the world. That is what I say effective life. It is not living for oneself – eating, drinking, sleeping, procrastinating, asking more and more from Earth, talking or shouting rights and having no responsibilities. That is not human existence. I do not call that a refined existence.

So, Iccha Shakti is the power of will. Its source is vision. Kriya Shakti is the power of action. Its source is faith, belief. If you do not have faith and belief in your action, it is weak action. Likewise, if you do not have power of will – will power combined with the will for action, the actions are not effective. We have power of knowledge that has to come from truth, the source is truth. So, source is truth for the knowledge, while source is belief, faith for action.

Root yourself in some faith – one faith – one particular thing which you really trust to have faith, whichever, it doesn’t matter. You are comfortable; you should be feeling good with it. Root yourself there. When you root yourself on one particular belief system – belief, faith – that will strengthen your will for action. Whenever we say, “Oh, I’m not feeling like doing it, I have inertia, I can’t do it,” it’s a sign that there is no belief, proper root belief, well rooted belief, that is a sign. So, it is time you rooted yourself on proper, effective belief system. You can have a belief in one man whom you want to trust as a person who’s stable, or a system, or yourself. You should have faith in something. That’s your choice. You can choose. Nobody is higher, nobody is lower. Nobody is equal. Everybody is unique. Please remember, we are master material. We have Iccha Shakti, Jnana Shakti and Kriya Shakti; power of knowledge, power of will and power of action. This is in us. If there is imbalance, we are ineffective in this world. So, truth is the root or the cause or the source for the power of knowledge. Vision is the source for the power of will. You should have a proper vision, higher vision, larger vision and that vision will help you in your journey further because you have clarity. If vision is perfect, clarity is sure. This will happen. And then Kriya Shakti, believe in your vision, trust it and act on it. Just think because your heart is beating, you will make many hearts happy without expectation, without prejudice. You have no enemies. Enmity is an aberration. It is a perversion. We always look at enemies. That’s a perversion. That’s not true. Just because we disagree, are they enemies? If somebody hates you, is that your problem? That’s something sitting in them. We should not be worried about enemies. We should not be worried about obstacles. We should always look at purpose. What is the purpose, the highest good for the world, the goodness factor that you can give into this world? That’s your purpose. That should be the purpose of humankind. That is humanity.

If you have that vision, if you believe in that vision, if you source from the truth of selflessness, truth which is selflessness, compassion, kindness, unconditional love, that’s the reflection of the truth. God, whichever form you are worshiping, doesn’t matter; God is truth. God is omnipresent. God needs nothing from you. God does not punish. We should never fear God. We should love God and express godliness through kindness, compassion, unconditional love, forgiveness; letting go of the past, letting go of bad emotions, letting go of everything negative. Focus on positive. Focus on truth. Act, act right now. Tomorrow, we do not know. All you have is today; this time, this space, this opportunity. We have never seen tomorrow. Nobody has seen tomorrow. Tomorrow will happen, that time you realize it is happening.

So come on, get on, and rejuvenate people.  As Vivekananda said, awake. Arise. Get on with your right action. I love you. I’m with you.

Lots of love.

Mohanji
