Guru Purnima Satsang 2020 – Part 1

Question: What is the real purpose of a disciple to do worship of a guru on this auspicious day?

Mohanji: Where does the Guru sit? This is the first question we must ask ourselves. Look at our whole life. We are only looking at a life which has happened from our birth so far, until our death in this life. This is what we consider as life.

All the masters, all the great traditions have said time and again that you are the thing you are looking for. I have mentioned that in my Guru Purnima message also, that you are the very thing or the very subject you are looking for. That means you have got to find yourself inside you. That means you got to do manana (contemplation). When you contemplate more and more, you will start finding your dimensions first. Eventually, you will come to a level where you will see yourself as a beacon of light and the rays spreading as dimensions; that means you have become one with your source, the one that is inside you. When you start connecting to the source that is inside you, you will start feeling the various possibilities beyond birth, beyond death. It means the possibility of the atma tatwa or the soul factor, which has no birth or death.

Once you understand that, you will see all your lives of the past and all the lives that are going to be in one spectrum, in one canvas. What happens then? That means you can see the whole role-play; various lifetimes you have played certain roles, and there is a continuation in between, like a stage in the drama. You go out, you change your dress, and you come back. It’s almost like that, very simple. That means you are almost going out and coming back. There is no birth, no death; just changing over, transitioning. So, once you understand that, the principle of Guru and the principle called YOU become very clear to you.

So, where is this Guru sitting? Inside! Then why do we worship a guru outside? That Guru is a reminder of what is sitting inside: just a reminder, nothing else.

So, when you respect (not only the Guru), the Guru in everything, which is the soul factor of all things, of all beings of nature, you will keep seeing the Guru. This is the main factor, the unchangeable factor. One who has actually recognised that soul factor and decided to settle into the soul factor; one who has found that soul factor from the physical factor, an emotional factor, consciousness factor and still further the witness factor, ( once you have settled down in the witness factor), you will see everything in the form of witness hood. You see everything as a witness. In that state, there is no caste, country, culture, colour, religion, language, nothing, just witnessing the whole thing.

When you start witnessing the whole thing, then you realise what exactly is awakening. That awakening only simply means you are a total witness of everything. You see the whole tapestry, not just the scenes of the drama, not the emotions, not the situations, not even the people acting; you see the whole picture. This is the journey that can only be achieved through our inner journey; you got to go within. You got to go inside, within.

When you are worshipping a master or when you are coming in contact with a master, who has already settled down within and he is fully established, your worship, (forget about physical worship), even thinking, even remembering, even your meeting, connecting, all that amounts to one thing. What is it? This is the state I’m looking for. Give me that state of yours. The state makes a master. The state where the Master rests makes that person a master. If the person is resting on emotions of life, that’s not mastery. The mind is dragging us like a slave.

When our awareness rests in the body, we are in waking state. When our awareness rests in our mind matter, we are in dream state. When our awareness rests in deep sleep state, we are in a state like death; we are detached. We are only in consciousness. When our awareness merges with consciousness, we start witnessing the state of the soul. That’s the only time we really witness what the soul is experiencing. That is the journey.

So, if you worship a guru, do you think the Guru needs worship? Guru needs nothing. Why does the guru need worship? Guru is not dependent on things outside of him, because he’s fully established in the witness hood, peaceful, stable and happy. He or she doesn’t matter. When you go within, and you start connecting to your own soul as I explained just now, you don’t need any worship. You are happy; you are settled. You are not dependent on the world outside for your pleasures of senses. Instead, senses are existing, but the senses are not demanding. Senses are relaxed, the mind is relaxed; there is no thrust of desires, no push of desires; tranquillity, peace. This is the real state.

If somebody is resting in that state, what would he feel and what would he say? Just be. JUST BE. The highest is achieved through that state of being YOU, being YOURSELF. BEING; only being. That’s the beauty.

When somebody says you have to worship me, that person only displays insecurity. That person is insecure. Why is he insecure? It is because he’s still dependent on the world outside. For a person who is stable within, whether somebody respects, somebody worships or not, it doesn’t make a difference. But if you want to experience that feeling of connecting in your way, as you are, you can do that. You can do whatever and for the Master, it doesn’t matter.

Sai Baba displayed that all the time. As the disciple came, Baba allowed them to perform their chosen ritual. Baba just allowed it to happen. He never said, “I don’t like it”, because there’s no like or dislike; just being.

Question: I want to know, for somebody like me when I’ve not met you in person, how could I understand that you are helping me and uplifting in spirituality? How do I know that I am growing in spirituality?

Mohanji: Do we actually need any help? This is the fundamental question. What help do we need?

In fact, a true master always remains as a mirror, undistorted image. That’s what he gives us. So, he always remains like a mirror, stable and still, and when you look into the mirror, you see your own true reflection. You see yourself in your true form, as you are. And that itself is a big deal because, in the outside world, you are only getting opinions of people. Some opinions are good, some opinions are bad, some are criticism, and some are praises. But between this, there is a reality. You never get that reality from the world outside. When you come to a master, the mirror is so fresh, perfect and clean; you get the real picture. That’s the biggest thing a master gives us your true picture.

So how does a master help? It is by giving your true picture; you realise this is where I stand; this is what I am. The moment you understand what you are, correction is easy. Diagnosis is difficult; the cure is easier. Similarly, when you come in contact with a pure mirror, an undistorted image happens. You automatically know where you stand and where you should be. The Master becomes a road sign with his own life.

What is the main thing happening here? Amidst all the varied dimensions of existence, emotions, changes; HE remains unchangeable, still. So, when you look at that Master, and you see a zero change, unchangeable, steady, then you realise this is the state of happiness; not pleasures, which are changing every now and then. Pleasures keep changing. For some time they remain, then again, you need more. But here, happiness is a state where you are always happy, stable and happy. And that state is what you are looking for. That’s when you realise, this is the state. So a true master’s life itself is the lesson, message and path. And when you come in contact, how do you know that you are being helped? Are you attaining silence in the mind? Or are you continuing to be restless and affected by things around us around you?

If you are always affected by things around you; that means you are only expressing your inherent patterns. It means, patterns or habits have formed, and it’s like a cycle going on and on and on. But a master shows you, that there is a possibility of being still, being out of the patterns, overcoming them by accepting those patterns and not resisting them. By holding the hands of the Master, (as long as it takes, maybe it takes lifetimes we never know), you come out of your patterns of life, including habits, likes, dislikes, opinions, prejudices, etc. and you become free. When you become free; fewer thoughts, less desire, less wear and tear from life will be the result. If this is happening, that means this relationship is working.

Relationship with a master does not have boundaries when I say boundaries, not bound by time. It is a continuous process. What brings you to a master is eligibility, YOUR WILL to experience the higher aspects of existence such as happiness; this brings you to a master. (And again as I said, it is not pleasures of life. We have many pleasures in life. It keeps coming and going, and we are not happy. Because one time it comes and goes, you crave for more, desire for more, and this is a continuous process.)Then you are in a tranquil state, and you are happy by nature and contented. So the contentment factor is the connection factor; you can actually assess your connection with your level of contentment.

Question: If people take advantage of unconditional love, how do you handle such situations? Is there a boundary to draw when you give unconditional love?

Mohanji: We are unconditional love by nature. That is our nature. We are love by nature, and we expand with love. We contract with hatred, revenge, anger; it makes us shrink. But with love, we expand, and that’s our nature; our nature is to expand. So love is our natural process. Love is our nature. But the world outside, of seven billion-plus people, is of every dimension. They are of different dimensions. It is not easy to say or categorise them at all.

Everybody is a mixture of various types of people. So, in this whole mixture, how people respond is completely based on time, space, their moods or the fluctuations of mind as per that time, because of various reasons. So, we cannot predict. We can only generalise a person based on the most predominant attitude. We can never say, “This person is always like this”. Each day could be different, moods could be changing, and everything could be changing. So, we must never judge anybody and say that he/ she is always like this. So, we have to understand that the world operates in such a way where the gunas; the Sattva, Rajas, Tamas gunas are fluctuating, flowing.

That changes time and again based on various aspects of existence, and that causes swings in moods. Sometimes Sattva is very high; people are tranquil and peaceful, then Rajas becomes high, they become very active, very explicit, and when Tamas becomes high, they procrastinate. So, this keeps going up and down, and according to that, a person will respond. Sometimes when the person is filled with Tamas, they may respond illogically, procrastinate. Procrastination brings forth anger, hatred, various types of feelings: feeling of separation, feeling of lack of love, etc. When that happens, maybe a disconnection happens between the person who loves them fully and the person who takes advantage of them.

Sometimes people think that the people who take advantage are good people because they fail to see the truth. At the same time, a thought may come that the people who love them unconditionally, but pretty rigid in their attitude are bad guys. In such cases, they hate the people who are truthful, and they follow the people who are manipulative. We have seen that in life. Sometimes people go after people who are manipulative, and they realise it much later. By the time too much of water would have flown under the bridge. That means time would have changed, and it would have probably become irreversible. Then betrayals happen, revenge happens, so much of bad blood happens. At the same time, the estrangement takes root; it means separation takes root, so this might become a trauma. But a master you are connected to, the Master will remain unconditional.

In the story of Victor Hugo, the Bishop gave food and accommodation to an ex-convict. When nobody wanted him, the society rejected him and did not want anything to do with him; at that time, the Bishop invited him to the church, gave him warm food and accommodation. But the convict in him could not accept it. The convict in him accepted himself as a bad guy, and decided, “This is not possible. Nobody can love me”. Because the inherent feeling or the concept or the state that he was in, rejected the kindness which the Bishop showed unconditionally.

What did he do? He stole the silver candle holders and ran away in the night. The police caught him, brought him back to the church because he had those candle holders which had the mark of the church on it. The police asked the Bishop, “Did this man steal something from the church?” and showed him the candleholders and few other things. The Bishop said, “No, I gave it to him”. Thus, he saved him again. That transformed the man.

So I always believe CONSISTENT KINDNESS transforms minds. So all you have to do is, not to have any expectation if you are brimming with unconditional love. If you expect people to appreciate, people to accept you as unconditional etc., there could be disappointments. Whenever there is an expectation, there is a potential for disappointment. So, express unconditional love consistently and be kind again and again and again, and you raise yourself in stature, not status. Stature is your ability to be unconditional love all the time. Then what happens in society? Society cannot ignore you anymore. Society will come around you, respect you and glorify you and make you a legend or legend hood comes to you because you have been consistent.

Consistency is a big deal. Many people do not have it. It is because they pitch expectation into an activity, and suffer sorrows and disappointment. So, this is something which we must remember. Be unconditional, but have the maturity to have no expectations. So you keep giving. Examples are Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi; we can find so many examples. They did not do things for the sake of earning glory, and because of that, glory came to them. Nelson Mandela, for example, He was behind bars in one cell for about 30 + years, that is, for most of his life. But when he came out, he was not affected. He created the platform for a peaceful society.

How can that happen? There was no revenge in his mind. Likewise, various great masters whom we have respected over time, they have been kind consistently, been compassionate, and been selfless consistently, and expecting nothing and that made them legends. Being unconditional is a beautiful thing. But it should have one more ingredient added into it. That is, zero expectation, and that will give you glory.

Question: How can we be sure that we are doing Consciousness Kriya correctly? And how do we know we’re making progress?

Mohanji: Well, any practice for that matter, say a normal physical practice, how do you know whether you are making progress? In simple terms, your proficiency increases. But in spiritual practice, the idea of spiritual practice is to give you a certain level of stability. So one of the criteria if you are doing a thing right, with the full application, full commitment, with conviction, faith, and consistency; if you are doing it properly, the result would be stability. Automatically, you will be very stable, and you will not be affected by the things around you too much. Things will be happening around you as it would, but it will not affect you as much as it usually would. So that’s the real sign that you are actually in the right track; we can extend it to say with fewer thoughts, less desires, etc.

End of the day, when you are practising it right, when you are consistent about it, and you believe in it, (if you don’t believe in it, if you are testing it, it may not work that much.) then you will realise that there is a kind of stability happening inside you. You are not fluctuated by the fluctuations of the outside world. The outside world will remain outside; the inside world will strengthen. When the inside world strengthens, the outside world cannot affect you anymore.

This phenomenon, you can see if you are getting more and more stable inside that means the external world will not affect you as much as it normally would. So, this is a clear sign of knowing you are doing it right. Sometimes, you know the method very well, but the effect is not happening because you do not trust it. Secondly, when we go to a guru with expectations and the guru gives you certain guidelines, but then we neither trust the guru nor the guidelines, we fail in the whole thing. It is because of one reason; we have not connected, we have not accepted. So, it’s important to accept wholeheartedly, experiment it, keep trying it, and after a while, it will start working. Maybe initially it may not work, it starts working as you go further and further.

There should be some kind of consistency in your practice; this is very important. If that’s not happening, the results may not happen. We become busy with our thought processes, so we do not have consistency sometimes. Then, that affects us, and we feel dejected, depressed because we are not progressing. Progress means less thoughts. Less thoughts means less desires. Less desires mean more detachment and more freedom.

Less thought = Less desires =Less needs = More detachment = More freedom.

That’s a benchmark which you can actually look for. But for that, you need to connect to your inside world more than the outside world. When we are running behind the pleasures of existence, entertaining the senses, entertaining the mind, etc., it may not work easily. On one side we are chasing things outside, but on the other side, we are trying to come inside, this struggle will continue.

So you must spend enough time with yourself. And I have always done that between 3 am to 8 am, early morning. That is because that time, the world is relatively free from you or you are free from the world. After that, you got to give yourself to the world. Maybe you are working, you are doing things, and then you are probably busy with your life outside. And that will take its toll. It’s okay, that’s part of life. But we got to spend time with ourselves, a personal time. That’s the time you should practise consistently with faith, faith in yourself, faith in the activity and also be clear that you are not keeping expectations ahead of you.

What are you doing? – Just practising. Just doing what it takes. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s good or bad. Just by focusing on the activity with full surrender, the results will start happening because you are starting to connect with yourself. End of the day, whether you are a Bhakti Yogi, following the path of devotion, or Jnyana Yogi, following the path of knowledge, or Karma yogi, following the path of service, or Raja Yogi, following the path of consciousness, it doesn’t matter. Everything leads you to yourself. Eventually, you will have to come back to yourself, and that’s the whole path. That’s the whole tradition. So this will happen anyway. This has to happen. So it doesn’t matter whether this practice is right or wrong, etc. I would say wrong practice means you need to put pressure to do it. Right practice is a pleasure. You are happy to do it. This is very simple.

Question: What would strengthen and help the awakening of consciousness?

Mohanji: Consistency strengthens our purpose. When we are consistent, what is our priority? We must ask this question some point in time. Imagine you came in contact with a very powerful master. But you contacted him for some personal gain or personal benefits, such as a job or a marriage or a relationship or some money or a position in the world, something like that. That’s very shallow. It may happen anyway.

But why did you associate with a very powerful Master? What brought you to him? It is your eligibility. What kind of eligibility brought you to a master of that kind? It is the eligibility for liberating yourself from the mundane existence of likes and dislikes, happiness and sorrow; this kind of duality. It was time for you to come out of it. That is how you came in contact with the master. Now, imagine you are still expressing your patterns, expectations leading to disappointments, ownerships, anger, hatred, jealousy, etc. What happens? You stand still! Your patterns are more powerful than your association with something really powerful (the master). That means your patterns become a wall in front of you, which disconnects you from that master.

Then that connection is wasted. You cannot use it because there is a wall in front of you. Your own patterns, concepts, prejudices make a wall, and the wall grows, because your ego enters. Ego sometimes manipulates you. Ego tells you, “Hey, look here! This is not how it should be; he should come forward to you, not you go to him” etc., all those things and it takes you away from reality and detaches you from reality and what happens is that the whole connection is wasted. So, when you come in contact with a master, you should have the priorities set right. And you should have extreme flexibility, flow like a river, and flow like water. Extreme flexibility helps you to progress in drastic speed.

As I told in the beginning, imagine you have a lot of lifetimes, let’s say 200 lifetimes. As you come closer to your soul, you can see these 200 lifetimes in one frame, like in the zoom, we can see all the people on one frame, all the people who are connected to us are all in one frame, and they are all in these frames. Like that, we can see our various lifetimes in one frame and then we will know that we have been expressing almost similar patterns. Maybe, we have been a man or a woman or a child or anything in each life, that doesn’t matter. But in every life, we have been expressing similar patterns, insecurities, prejudices, all the things which you are experiencing now have been the same in all those lives and the coming lives as well.

So what you are really doing is that with each death, you are just going out, changing clothes and coming back into a new life. So it’s like a new scene in the drama. We are acting scene by scene by scene. If you take a drama, in that kind of boundary/frame, you are enacting a role. And you keep coming back in a new costume, and you play the role. In between, you are coming in contact with a master who says, “I will take you out of this. You had enough of roles in life, you have played a lot of roles, and I’ll take you out of it”. But then again, you have been used to certain patterns all these lifetimes, similar patterns. So what will you say? “Okay, I would like you to take me out of it. But you know what, I have something more to settle because I have left some things on another screen, another time so that I want to go back to complete that. That man cheated me. So I must go back and cheat him. He betrayed me. So I must betray him.” Like that, we have scores to settle.

We have things to complete, which provokes further lives. So in this whole bargain, in various lifetimes we have come in contact with people who have come out of this drama; they have finished their acting, they have already settled within themselves, they’ve understood there’s no need for this drama. They’ve experienced everything connected to this whole life, and they don’t want it anymore. They know it very well, and they have come out of it. These people still hang on to guide others to come out of it. But then our patterns are so strong, that we may even blame the people who are already detached from it, saying, “No, no, this guy doesn’t understand, I have to take care of this thing. This is more important for me.” ‘I’ am important. I factor. ‘I’ is the association with the role not with the actor. This is the problem. We associate ourselves with the role.

If Mohanji associates himself as a guru, then Mohanji has a problem. I’m not a guru all the time. When I play with Mila, I’m not a guru. I’m her father. Like that in every scene, I play a different role. And the sum total of it is what is called this incarnation. So, that acceptance should happen. With extreme flexibility, when you play the role, you play it well, good enough for an Oscar. You play it supremely well, and when you come out of it, you have nothing to do with it. That is the detachment we talk about. We have that experience every day.

Remember, when we go to bed, we shut off from this external world. We are completely detached. We shut the screen; there is nothing on the screen, no world outside. Then we connect to the internal world, and we see the drama of life as dreams. We get tired; we shut that also. Then we go into a deep sleep where you shut off everything, body, mind-matter, everything is shut off. You are totally sitting in consciousness with consciousness. You are sleeping with consciousness. Then you come back again to the waking state, where you and the world come alive. Again you wear the costume of this incarnation as per your projection, and the world recognises you as you are known in this incarnation. But is that you? Ask this question – Am I this? This role play is important in this act for sure, because you play that role, but is that you?

Why do you set boundaries? Why do we have boundaries? This question will happen, and that time we will start understanding the role play. So, everybody’s life is just acting, or role plays and patterns are guiding. The inclinations, tendencies push them to express what they are into this world. That means we are projecting what we are into this world. That means we are seeing or experiencing this world as WE are; we cannot experience the world as it is. We are not experiencing the world as the world is. Instead, we are experiencing the world as we are. What do you see around? What do you get from this world? – Opinions, concepts, prejudices, and so many factors of that kind. Think about it.

The world is full of opinions; it may not be the truth. Somebody says, “This person is not good.” That is his perspective. That person thinks that the other person is not as good as per his criterion. But another person may say, “This guy is very good.” So who’s telling the truth? Nobody is good. Nobody is bad. It’s our perspective; it is the way we see it. We see a person, and if our frequency is not matching with something, we call it not good – For whom? – For us. So, when we tell another person, “That person is not good, stay away”, are we missing heavily here? Definitely. We are missing a lot because we fail to see the truth. Our opportunity to see the truth or our opportunity to be neutral and have clarity is taken away because we see the world through our ears, not through our eyes. Eyes are given to see the world, to see the truth, but eyes cannot see the truth because ears work more.

We experience that in life. So this has to be clearly understood. The world is as it is, but we see the world as we are. And then if you see this whole 100, 200 lifetimes of our existence, you can see the same pattern at work. But because we are getting involved in the drama, we cannot really come out, because each person changes the costume and comes back and we must be there. We are addicted to this play, and we keep coming back: the same people, different costumes, and different order. They all come back, and they all provide similar emotions because they’re all coming with patterns; similar emotions. We enter into the drama, and we really suffer from that drama, sometimes happy sometimes sorrow, but do we see this drama? We must. The moment you start seeing the drama, and then you realise, “Oh, this is the story.”

Do you know why we have assassinated most of the people who spoke the truth? The people, whom we assassinated like Jesus and Socrates, were great masters who saw the truth and told the truth – undistorted truth, but we killed them. We character assassinated them. Why did we do that? Because we do not see, we can’t see. We are blind to reality. We only see what WE are, what is our pattern through the eyes of the pattern. We only see through the eyes of the pattern, through the eyes of our prejudices and concepts. Through the spectacles of what we have carried forward and what we have collected, we are watching this world. We are witnessing this world, and we don’t see the truth. We do not even accept the truth. All these people are like that. That is why racism, speciesism is all because we are eating concepts right from our breakfast till we sleep.

Somebody says, “It’s okay to kill an animal and eat” and we eat. We do not think that they have a life. They have a right to live as much as we have. The right is the same for every species which we don’t see. Likewise RACE. Each person is born in a certain community, and that’s about it. Nobody is higher or lower. Nobody can be higher or lower. Experience wise, everybody has the same right; the same kind of experience. If you touch fire, your hand will burn. The same happens with every race, everybody.

If we start seeing beyond all these seeming boundaries that we have created for ourselves and we fail to see the truth, then we realise, ”Oh, so there is a pattern”, but when do we get to see it? Even when somebody who has seen it tells you, we may not accept it. We may ask mundane questions. What will happen to me in the future? Does that mean you are asking what is the script? Or ask what will happen after my death? You will come back in the same way. It doesn’t matter. What you can do right now is your only reality. Try to connect yourself and try to see the truth now. That can change your future. Not that the future can change by sitting doing nothing, or entertaining the patterns now. Future will not change like that. Future will be future, patterns will continue, and patterns are ruling us. Our inclinations and tendencies are ruling us, which we don’t know. Even if it is told, we do not accept, nor do we understand. We do not allow changes because we are too bound by the patterns. We don’t even see. I have to sleep; I have to eat; I have to do this. I have to do that. You are completely preoccupied and bound by patterns, where your freedom is lost. As I have explained in today’s message, freedom is freedom from the senses and mind, not of the senses and mind. But unfortunately, what we have always been told and what we tell others is that I have freedom because I can go out and do whatever I like. That means being a slave is freedom. When you say, “I have the freedom to go out and do things that I like”, you are saying, “I can exercise my patterns and I call that my freedom”.

That is not freedom. Freedom is a state where you are free from your own senses and mind. Senses are pretty much sensors; they cannot operate on their own, the mind provokes them. So when you are free from your mind-matter such as intellect, ego and mind, then the senses are in control. If they are not bothering you, if the mind is not bothering you and if you are detached from your mind, and in the state of witness hood and mind is not really provoking the senses to go out, that’s the only time you experience freedom. Otherwise, you don’t. Whatever we say as freedom: freedom of choices, freedom of doing things; that is not freedom. That is just another word for living your own patterns.

Freedom is when you need nothing from Earth. Freedom is when you are free from your mind. If you understand that clearly, you have understood the whole tapestry. You have understood the whole thing. So when you are coming in contact, or when you are fully in contact with your own soul factor, then you see life in the whole picture, the whole frame, every life, and all the lifetimes together. That time you realise, if I miss the chance to get out of this drama, I’m stuck again. That’s the time when we realise this connection which you have received in the path of spirituality is worth millions, or it’s totally priceless. That’s the only real thing in Life.

Forget about the patterns and other things. You want to get married; you want to have children, a house, etc., all these are patterns. But look at the reality now. Look at the truth which you have come in contact with. The truth of being you, the truth to be you, connect to you, accept you, understand you, assimilate you, align you, be you and realise you. We call it self-realisation, and that is priceless. You cannot put a frame or a price to it. And the role of a master is to bring you to this awareness, not to force you into this awareness. No master will force you, why should they force you?

A true master will show you a mirror, “Look here, this is where you stand”. “Then where should I go?” – Into yourself. Which way? You connect to yourself through contemplation, understand yourself, and accept yourself. Acceptance is very important. You have to accept yourself with all your weaknesses and strengths. You have to feel yourself as you are and be yourself. This life is a golden chance. Do not chase the rainbows now because we have been chasing it always, in all the lifetimes. Now, we have got an opportunity to be aware that reality is at hands reach. We have come in contact with reality. And this is worth anything. That should be the first priority.

Destruction of patterns should be your first priority. But you can’t destroy something and stay empty. You got to catch something higher. How do you catch it? What will you catch? TRUTH. The Truth inside you; the truth is what you are catching. That truth is inside you. That’s the real you; the witness who needs nothing from Earth, nothing from anywhere. Beyond relationships, beyond time, space, beyond matters, materials, possessions, positions, this is you. You start connecting to that; you will see immense power happening inside you, overwhelming power.

Because you are free, you feel the power of freedom. It is great freedom to feel that power. That power is not to display to somebody, not to show off. The power is big, the power of beingness, the power of being you, you have nothing to prove on Earth. There’s nothing to prove; there is nothing to ask for or nothing to gain from Earth. Instead, you are giving the Earth all your brightness. Imagine, this is the truth of liberation. This is a liberated existence. If we understand that, we have understood everything. This is within you; it is not something which is kind of unreachable. It’s not a tall order. It’s within you. It’s you, connecting to you, assimilating you, aligning you and being you.

The connection with the master is to bring that spark, to light that fire. Then the fire catches, burns you and reduces you to yourself. All other things go away; all the patterns, concepts, everything burns into ashes. Then you become you. If this is really understood, you have understood everything. This opportunity is right at hand, and you have it. This Guru Poornima is the right day to think about it. Sage Vyasa, Vashishta, Saptarishis; everybody came to tell you this story, that human birth is extremely important. And in human birth, you have this opportunity to recognise, understand and assimilate your true self, the truth.

It’s not a linear existence. Life goes linear from birth till death, but that is only for the sake of experience. However, truth does not go linear. The truth remains vertical, always vertical. All the time, the truth remains the same. When you are a child, the truth is the same. When you are an adult, the truth is the same. In your old age, the truth is the same. Truth never changes. But in linear time, experiences changes, perception changes, body changes, mind changes, intellect changes, everything changes. And we confuse ourselves by thinking, “I am changing.” However, nothing is changing. You are the same, you cannot change, and truth cannot change.

So, if you’ve really understood this, you will start recognising the truth every moment. What you get out of it? – Immense stability, peace, tranquility, freedom. You will experience the real meaning of freedom only when you reach that state, where you are connected to the truth yesterday, today, tomorrow, and the day after. It doesn’t matter what your moods are, what your surroundings are, what your emotions are. Not a problem. Nothing matters. You could be anger, hatred, jealousy, lust, anything. Not a problem. It is a state of freedom. That’s exactly how great masters existed -consistent, stable, integrity, unchangeable because you are connecting to the unchangeable.

Q&A – Unconditional love Part 3

elegance

Welcome to Mohanji Speaks. These are answers to questions from listeners. Thank you for sending them. Keep sending them. I will try to answer them as best as I can.

Speaker: This is the final podcast in a three-part podcast series on the topic of unconditional love, based on questions from a listener. This one concludes following on from the question, how does the unconditional love of a master operate?

images

Mohanji:  The basic thing that chains us are our patterns, our inclinations, tendencies. That’s what we entertain. We fight to keep it. We don’t allow it to be broken. And that’s exactly what should go to connect to yourself. You are not your patterns. You are not your patterns; you are not your inclinations and tendencies. You’re not your desires, they all come and go. They don’t stay. So, once you understand that, just imagine your freedom.

When a master has understood this, that is what is mastery. He has understood life, he has understood the patterns, he has understood the likes and dislikes, inclinations, and all those things. When has he become freedom? When you become something, how do you look at the world? As you are, right? So, he has recognized what is real freedom. He sees the world as freedom, acceptance happens. So, he accepts everybody as they are, not as he wants them to be. That is their job. If a person wants to evolve beyond their mind, a Master is available as a benchmark. But Master never says, “Become me.” What will a Master say? “I’m available, like a mirror, you can look at me and find yourself.”

When you look at the mirror, you don’t see the mirror, you see yourself; the image in the mirror and the mirror stays neutral. A mirror never says, “You must look at me”, or “You must look at the mirror”, it’s your choice. You go and look at the mirror, you’ll find yourself; you see yourself as you are at that time. That’s exactly how the Master projects you back. Master gives you yourself as you are, at that time. You come to a Master with anger, the Master will reflect back anger. You come to a Master with love, the Master reflects back the love, as it is, as you are at that time, that’s what is getting reflected. Another time you come back with a lot of affection, love, care; a Master becomes that.

sunrise

So, the Master will be a true mirror always, because he has no expectations. He is total freedom. Just like a mirror, he’s totally free. If your face is not acceptable to you, a mirror has nothing to do with it. Just like that, if you’re not really acceptable to yourself, the mirror will only project that, and you blame the mirror for your face? That is stupidity. That’s non-understanding. A Master operates that way like a true mirror, reflects you as you are without expectations. And mostly we don’t like a Master, because we don’t like our own face, not because the Master is bad. Master gives you what you are. Master reflects you as you are. Same thing. Society judges a Master, “Oh, you should not reflect exactly what he is, or she is, you should give something different.” That is said because society manipulates thoughts. General mind manipulates thoughts, which means pretense; pretension happens, right? Pretension. You have a thought, an original thought, you think again. Can I actually express this? Then your mind will say, “No, it’s inappropriate.” So, what happens? Manipulation happens. Society has masks, face caps, they mask and provide to the society, only what is acceptable, which is manipulation basically. But it is like a small child. You’re able to express to the world, your likes and dislikes, like small children, toddlers – they have no worries about society, they will cry if they need food. They want to sleep, they will sleep, they wouldn’t care what the society thinks. That’s the true innocent existence and a Master becomes like that.

When you have crossed over your mind, your attachment to the world outside, your likes and dislikes are in control, you have no particular interest with the world. But at the same time, you are enjoying the world unconditionally. Then the Master becomes innocent. That is mastery. A sign of mastery is innocence, like Shiva, we say Bolenath – innocent. Because he’s mastered everything. And he is spontaneous, flexible, flowing; that’s mastery. So, they can only reflect what is in front of them. They cannot be different. So, if you ask a Master, “Why are you doing like this? Why are you not trying to change people coming in front of you?” That’s not their problem. You don’t have to change anybody. You don’t have to convert anybody. You don’t have to transform anybody. You are the transformation. And that’s the message you’re giving to the world. You are contentment. You are peace. This message is what you are living and portraying. Looking at it, connecting deeply, integrating into their consciousness, anybody can change to the same state. That option and provision are given, but they are not sitting to convert anybody.

mohanji-quote-love-yourself-and-others-equally

Conversion is a very, very ugly thing; you just change your shirt, inside you are the same. That is conversion. Here it is not that. Transformation.

Transformation is finding yourself. One who has found himself is a Master, and when connecting to that person, you found yourself, then you attained mastery. Who will connect to the Master completely, as he is? 1%. Rest are all coming with expectations, so they get only as per their capacities. That’s why conflict happens. Society accuses a Master because society expects things from the Master. It puts frames, saying that Master should be like this, talk like this, walk like this, behave like this, dress like this. But once you become freedom, you’re a flow, you are flexible. To maintain a frame, you need to have all those – mind, intellect, ego stuff. You have somehow crossed over.

So, how does the Master look at the world? Simple, as freedom; living, walking, talking freedom. Society may not understand that. Society is bound by social, moral, stuff. The society believes this is how it should be, somebody has read in some books etc. Individual uniqueness is never accepted or understood. Associated freedom is also not understood. I don’t mean that freedom means freedom to go and kill somebody. No, no violence. Ahimsa is ‘Paramo Dharma’, greatest Dharma is ahimsa, nonviolence, so that’s not the point here. Freedom is freedom from senses, freedom from the mind, freedom from intellect and ego, freedom from the world, outside world, detachment. This is freedom. A Master lives that, true Master. Not the people who have learned from books and teaching. Learning from books and teachings are different from experience. One drop of experience is better than a thousand books. So, when I say a Master, somebody who has experienced himself, found himself as a Master.

So, this is approximately the answer. Do discuss this with your friends. Contemplate on it and increase your awareness, step by step. Wish you great success in life.

Lots of love. This is Mohanji, for you.

Be Committed to One Master and Path

Mohanji is a Spiritual Master whose awakening was graced by Sai Baba of Shirdi. He guides many on the path and works tirelessly to spread His teachings. Mohanji speaks about the necessity of being committed to one Master on the spiritual path.

This whole concept about many Masters is one of the highest illusions. We need to look into ourselves. We need to connect with ourselves. We need to concentrate on the reduction of thoughts. That is only possible through acceptance – self-acceptance. When we constantly work on connecting with ourselves, we raise our frequency. We increase our frequency, or automatically the frequency increases. Then we get in contact with such Masters.

The whole idea of this Guru, that Guru, my Guru, another Guru etc. are all external factors. They are all illusions. In fact, there is only ONE GURU, which is the Supreme Consciousness. And THAT does not need Forms. Anything that has a Form has come for a purpose and for a duration. That is something we must understand. None of the Masters is dependent on you. The real Masters will be the most unassuming of the whole lot. They would not even care if someone follows them, respects them, or criticises them. As in Shirdi Sai Baba’s case – when somebody threw a stone at Him, it hit His head and blood started coming out. When people asked Him, “Is it hurting?” He replied, “The injury is here, but the pain is there.” (The pain is with the Tradition.) It is as simple as that. That means Masters live in a very unassuming way, fully surrendered, and with zero ownership.

sai

If you wish to connect to such Masters, you must develop that kind of eligibility. Eligibility is simply a lesser number of thoughts and more emptiness inside. For more emptiness to happen, there must be fewer desires. So one definitely needs a lot of:

– Self-acceptance

– Contentment (being happy with what you are given; with what is available)

– Doing your utmost in any given circumstances and;

– Acting with surrender – without ownership and without expectations.

These will help inner purification and emptiness. Inner purification is selfless action and emptiness is connected to acceptance – which means no resistance. No resistance means no postponement; no residual memories. Everything is accepted. As they come, they go. Everything that is born will die. Then, you are connecting to a Master only as a complementing frequency.

The Master delivers what He is, or as per your eligibility, the Master’s energy liberates you. Also, do not look at various Masters; it is only one Master in various Forms. You connect to the Master who has appeared in front of you. There could be a better Master, bigger Master, higher Master and a more reputed Master elsewhere. But he is not near you. You do not have to worry about that.

Always remember: the one who has come to you is the one for you. The one whom you are connecting to is the one for you. It is not about the Master, it is all about you.

How deeply will you connect?

How consistent will you remain?

How much conviction do you have?

These are the benchmarks. Then, the Master’s presence is complementary.

The Masters at the level of Sai Baba (who is a perfect Avadhoota), are not worried about anything. The great Masters will never try to prove something to the world. That is not important for them. This whole idea of having to prove something is from the mind level and they have crossed the mind. They are not worried about whether people accept or reject them, whether people appreciate or criticise them.

We are the same society that took Jesus to the Cross and took Baba to the Court. The society is the same and is full of variety. People look at others in different ways. When Baba was alive and living in Shirdi, many tried to harm Him, ridicule Him, criticise Him, or gossip about Him. This is how life is. You cannot change it. People are of various types.

selflessness

However, what we need to do is, maintain purity through selflessness – CONSISTENT selflessness. We need to connect to ourselves and increase our emptiness within. Also, ensure you do not have expectations and do not have too many desires. The usual things like food, clothing, and shelter are fine. But apart from that, the greed factor (that I must have many houses, many relationships, and many other things, Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada, Matsarya, kind of things), anger, hatred, possessiveness, positions, possessions, jealousy etc. are all binding factors.  Have nothing to do with any of them. Accept everybody as they are, and understand that nothing happens in life without a purpose.

If there is an incident that occurs in life, there is a reason for it. For every EFFECT, there is a CAUSE. For every CAUSE, there WILL be an EFFECT. Therefore, it is collective, and there is no point in blaming anybody.

People go to a Master with various expectations. It is a very nonsensical thing. It is foolish to go to a Master thinking that you will never die. You will die. There have been various people connected to various Masters. If you look at history, you can see that they have all died. When something is born, it will die. Everything that is born will die at some point in time. Even the Master cannot stay in the body forever. We should understand these fundamentals.

eligibility 1

“Oh, I am connected to a Master, but then I am not well.” That is because you have collected all these residual things over a period of time and it is affecting your health. What has the Master got to do with it? When you are deeply connected to the Master; when you are not resisting too much; when you increase your acceptance with the energy of the Master; most of the diseases and blockages drop off. That helps to heal. Otherwise, you need to be consistently serving the society selflessly and increasing your eligibility/ frequency, so that Masters can connect to you, and transfer whatever is possible to you. And, that should come without asking. I have always maintained this. This is one of the benchmarks that I had when I was practising.

Firstly, I never thought that I would come out and speak in public. I always thought that I would work in an organisation; I would work for a living so that I would never be dependent on anybody and I would do my Sadhana (practices) without telling anybody and without anybody knowing about it. This was my idea. I was happy and contented. But later on, it so happened – Yoga, the appointed Duty; I started talking to people, people started coming to me, I started operating in public, and my public life began. But one of the benchmarks I have always kept is :

My PRESENCE should be more powerful than my teachings.

Therefore, the intensity that I was looking for, or I was trying to collect and assimilate, was THAT FREQUENCY, which will be TRANSFORMATIVE.

silence

Transformation is equal to inner silence – more silence, more stability, more stillness, more peace. That was the idea. Likewise, I never went to any Guru or asked something from them. I have visited various Masters, but I have never asked them for anything. I never asked them for a title. I never asked them for any Siddhis (spiritual powers). I never asked them for any favours. All of them helped and supported me, to the extent I was eligible. I was very much contented with it. So, when you are approaching a Master, go there just for the sake of blessing, just to connect to that energy and that is all; just as you go for a pilgrimage, or to a place of power.

A place of power is of a particular frequency. Therefore, when you go to a place of power, it helps your alignment. It helps you to align yourself. Align yourself means the Mind, Body, Intellect, Ego and Spirit come together. Thus, when you go to a Master who is already aligned, it helps your alignment.

When you sit in the smoker’s room for five minutes, everybody will think that you smoked because your entire body will smell of smoke.

Like that, when you are connected to a great Master, you will automatically start assimilating yourself and start integrating yourself more. That way it’s fine, but otherwise do not look at various Masters and keep wandering, believing that you will get more from everybody. It is quite the opposite. Nobody will take responsibility for you. Always understand that it is our insecurity or the display of insecurity that is visible when you wander. Our insecurity takes us to various Masters, thinking that everybody will bless us and life will be better. In fact, you will be more insecure, because you will have a lot more insecurities by visiting Masters with expectations and that will affect you more.

Please understand that the great Masters were the most unassuming Masters. The greatest of them all looked like nothing. “The glitter and the show are all for the sake of the stomach”, as Adi Shankara said. However, the great Avadhootas wander like madmen, sometimes in rags, sometimes in clothes that people don’t really appreciate, or sometimes not wearing any clothes. This is exactly how a true Master looks. They all look like ordinary people, one of the crowd, or probably not even connected. Because they only have the inner world, they do not have the outside world. That is why when you give them food, they may not even touch it. Because what will they do with the food? Now if you put it in their mouth, they may eat it.

neem karoli baba
Neem Karoli Baba

Like the famous story of Neem Karoli Baba. Many times when Neem Karoli Baba was wandering, he was hardly aware of his body. When he was wandering, somebody asked him, “Babaji would you like to have some food?” He asked his companion, “Did I have food?” The companion replied, “No, you didn’t eat food.” He then said, “Yes, I am hungry, I want food,” and then he ate food. Five or ten minutes later, he was in another place, where another person asked him, “Would you like to have food?” He again asked his companion, “Did I eat food?” Then the companion got curious and thought, “If I say ‘No’, then what he will do?” So he said, “No, Babaji, you didn’t eat food.”

Actually, he had eaten, but this companion was testing him. So, Babaji again ate food. It happened seven times in one or two hours. Then the companion understood that Babaji does not have body consciousness and he is actually reflecting other people and just following.

Many of the Masters do not have body consciousness, because they are already in a state of bliss and their external world is just a drama going on, the play of the Divine. They are fully occupied with themselves, in a state of deep Samadhi.

With a person in this kind of state, people may not even connect, because people connect with those who can predict the future or materialise something, miracles, or similar things. But that’s just the shallow part of this whole thing.

True spirituality is not about show; it is about TRANSFORMATION. Transformation means you connect to yourself more and more so that, because of your present incarnation, you do not take more incarnations. That is true spirituality.

spirituality

True spirituality is that you integrate into yourself all the way, fully, so that you do not have to take any more lives. That means you come in compromise with all your patterns, emotions, feelings, notions, prejudices, etc. Then, everything dissolves and finally, there is nothing. Then the whole desire factor itself dissolves, so the mind-matter dissolves. Then you only exist in Consciousness. In that mode, when you die, you only expand. You do not die. You do not leave. The body is there, and in the body, you are already a unit. Not scattered, because the mind-matter has dissolved. Then when you finally leave the body (your Mahasamadhi), you are not leaving the body, you are expanding from the body. That is why the place where the body of such a Master is kept becomes a shrine. Because they have not left, they have just expanded, their unit is still remaining. And it will live for thousands of years. It depends on the intensity of the Master.

As we see in Sai Baba’s case, a hundred years after His Mahasamadhi, we are discussing Him; we are experiencing Him; we are seeing various temples in His name, coming up in various places. All this is connected to the intensity of the Master, at the time of His existence. Do not connect only to the behaviour of the Master; such as what He was doing, how He was, etc. Baba used to smoke chillum. Probably He was smoking just to feel His body. He may not even be aware that He has a body. At the same time, He had to interact/ talk to so many people who came to Him. For that, he had the need to probably bring Himself to Himself, bring awareness to His body unit and talk to people.

There are so many such occasions, where you need something else to feel your presence, your body; because you do not feel the body.

When your practice becomes deeper, when you start assimilating, you will all experience that state; a state where you are not aware that you have a body. It is not an unconscious state; it is with full awareness.

You have a full awareness state, but you are not bound by the body. Your boundaries are different; your boundaries are beyond your body. That state happens. The point I am emphasizing is, we do not know how the Master operates. We should never judge, we should never criticise, because when you judge or criticise using your limited awareness, the Guru principle in us dies, or its frequency reduces. Then the ability to connect to subtlety also reduces.

Instead, you should develop greater acceptance.

acceptance

“Okay, if there is a cause, there is an effect. If there is an effect, there is a cause. There will be some reason. Maybe we do not understand the reason. No problem! But because there is an effect, there would be a cause”.

Also, you should leave all those things to Karma. If something wrong is happening, Karma will equalise it. If something right is happening, Karma will reward it. So allow Karma to have its course. We are nobody to interfere. In case it is society, the law and order will take care of things. You don’t have to worry about it. We have a man-made law and order system to maintain discipline in society. We trust it and we leave it at that. Then we have the elected members of the Board, an elected Parliament, etc. We trust them; we give them the full authority to look after us. We should not interfere in any of these things. Also, we should not judge, criticise, gossip, talk ill, etc. because it immediately reduces our frequency. To gain frequency, it takes time. It takes a lot of effort, consistency, and conviction. To reduce in frequency it takes no time, it happens just like that; you will drop like you do when on a slide. Then it takes a lot of effort to climb up.

While practising, such instances will happen. First of all, your connection with the Master (is important). Then you may start judging. There are various Masters who are/ were very aggressive in their behaviour. Even Shirdi Sai Baba used to shout and scream at people sometimes. He would even beat up people. There are many such stories. As for Bhagwan Nithyananda of Ganeshpuri, people used to be frightened to go near him. They used to be afraid because sometimes He was very aggressive. However, that was to remove, to ward off many things sitting in us.

nityananda
Bhagwan Nityananda

We have collected many things over time. We have no idea what have we collected. Just like the viruses and the germs in the air, we do not know what enters our system through our nose, mouth, ears etc. Like this, many things are coming into our system. The Masters will see what is in you, and they may try to completely flush these out. If you are afraid or if you are scared, and if you hold on to what they are trying to remove, you lose. They do not lose.

I always believe a reliable benchmark for spiritual awakening is, “What have we lost by connecting to a Master?”

Have we lost our Anger Quotient – the amount of anger in us?

Have we lost our jealousies, pride and ego?

Have we lost whatever we were clinging on to, as part of our personality?

Has it all been diluted?

Then the connection with the Master has worked. It is not how much he taught you, or what you gained.

The gain in spirituality is in losing. The gain is in the loss.

In spirituality, what you give up is your gain. In spiritual terms, whatever your share and whatever you give to the world, that’s your gain, because you have earned grace with that, an abundance of grace. A great amount of grace happens when you share what you have.

Share skills, share love, share time, share money – whatever you have, you can share. That will bring more and more grace. This grace will not only help you in this life, but it will also help the ancestors, the lineage karma.

I have explained about lineage karma, it is called the ‘Dhananjaya Prana’, which enters the system when the sperm meets the egg. That means before everything else, when even the body is not formed, before that, the lineage karma enters. And it leaves only after every other Prana has left. So, the Dhananjaya Prana leaves much later, after all the other Pranas have gone. That is why during cremation, when the body is put on fire, this Prana leaves immediately. Therefore, when you burn the body, at that time this prana immediately leaves, because the body is burnt to ashes.

In case of a burial, this Prana is the last to leave. When there is a body, this Prana stays. Until the body completely disintegrates, it stays. This is something we must understand. Lineage Karma is very vital. So when you share what you have, when you do plenty of it, such as feeding birds, feeding animals etc., it has a great effect. I always like Annadaan – giving food, serving food. When I say fishes and birds, I am talking about all animals in nature; feeding birds, feeding animals, feeding fishes, which are in nature. That will give a tremendous amount of grace to you, and in turn, it helps the lineage karma. Thus, the weight is reduced by serving (Annadaan). Similarly, taking care of the sick and the old, abandoned children, abandoned women, etc. also helps. All these acts will help in the reduction of lineage karma.

That is why I always say that if you want to do something for me, take care of these people. I always call all the species as ‘people’, because every being has a personality, every creation has a personality, so every creation is a person. Therefore, I call them ‘people’ – people of various species. They all have their distinction. They all have their personality. They all have their purpose. Coming back to the point, taking care of the people is one way we can probably reduce the whole impact.

The interest of the Masters is always to elevate you to the highest point and not just to give you some gift or some entertainment. Also, whenever we keep on asking, indirectly we are demonstrating our “Poverty Consciousness”. When you keep on saying, “Please give me this, please give me that”, it means we are telling the world, or the substratum, that we don’t have it, we lack something. When we constantly say we lack something, it means we are expressing a state of ‘not having something’, that means Poverty Consciousness. Such an expression will bring more of that state. This has to be very clearly understood.

poverty

Abundance cannot happen when you are expressing poverty consciousness. For abundance to happen, the best prayer is the prayer of gratitude. Say “Thank you!

Thank you for whatever you have given me. Thank you for my life. Thank you for my breath. Thank you for oxygen. Thank you for the system (bodily system) that is function well like circulation, respiration, digestion, functions of the brain, the senses that are working well”. Be grateful and express gratitude, and keep thanking, so that, that richness will remain all the time. By sharing what you have, your inner richness will be maintained. That ensures more abundance. Also, nurture positivity by talking good – only talking good, even if somebody betrayed you or somebody did not behave well with you, etc. You leave it to Karma to take care of them and you concentrate on positivity.

We should not gossip, talk bad, or convey things, which are negative, like character assassination, shaming, defaming etc. All these things are very bad and will come back to you. Whatever arrows you shoot, it will leave a backward residue. Whatever you produce from your desk, will come back to you. Therefore, we should not have anything to do with any of these things. We should only look at the positive side, and only think about what we can do for others (to add value to people around us). Even if there are enemies, you bless them. They are enemies because of their ignorance. If somebody is really aware, they will have no enmity towards anything. Because we are talking only about karmic beings on earth, how can you be an enemy with another karmic being? It is impossible.

If you really are a spiritual person, if you have clear awareness, you can’t have enemies. You will accept everybody.

Each person is expressing his character. People are of all types: good, bad, ugly, etc. All people have their mixture and nobody is perfect, nobody needs to be perfect. God and the Guru are well aware of it. Everybody is aware of it. All beings are aware of it. They are not looking at your perfection. They are looking at your disposition, your attitude. Your attitude should be that of Purity. The pure message, pure expressions. If you are really spiritual, you can never have an enemy. You will never defame anybody. You will never talk ill about anybody. Forget about Masters, even about your neighbours, your friends, your family, you will not discuss, gossip or talk ill about anybody, because they are all leaving more and more dirty, negative residue in your system. We don’t want them because you must cleanse everything you have before you leave.

On one side, you should be fully focused on purification like acts of kindness, acts of compassion, acts of love, etc. and on the other side, you are always thinking, “Ok, I am alive, I am here, what can I do for this earth? What can we do here? And so on. “That is why I have always believed in being practical. I do not consider myself as a Bhakti Yogi. I would rather be more of a Karma Yogi, somebody who is practical and out there in the world. Instead of sitting and chanting, I usually like to serve. I like to give people some kind of transformation in their own way, in their own capacity. I tell my people – the people who love me or like to connect to me – if your heart is beating, let it be for the world, we live for the world. And the best you can give to this world is yourself – as pure expression.

yourself

In old times, in Bharat (ancient India), before all these locomotives, before the invasions of foreign people in Bharat; in every village, it was a kind of an unwritten rule, that if you are born in the Sanathana tradition, every individual must go to Kashi (Varanasi / Benares) once in their lifetime.

Sanathana tradition/ Sanathana Dharma is the dharmic tradition based on the actual ground rules of existence, based on dharma, righteousness.

The usual practice was that people in their Brahmacharya stage (youth time), learn skills. They learn various skills as per their disposition, as per their orientation. They learn their relevant skills from the mouth of a Master who is experienced. Then the next stage, the Grihastha (householder) stage, is where they execute their skills. They do their job, they earn their income, they make a family, they probably will have children, houses etc.

Then comes the next stage (Vanaprastha or retired life), after everything is done and the children are settled, they are also probably married and have their own children. In such stage, they decide, “Ok, now we should go and visit Benares” because once in a lifetime, one must go there; that is an unwritten rule. When they leave, sometimes a few of them from the village will also go together because you have to walk a lot or use bullock carts at times. I am talking of a time, many centuries ago, when the land was covered with jungles and there was no conveyance. In those days, there was no public transport system. For many miles, there would be nothing available to eat. There would be no shelter, no food.

Sometimes the kings used to build some highway inns, like a shelter where such travellers would take rest and sleep. The wandering people also used such places. The people in the village would give them some rice, wheat, flour, sometimes a bullock cart, a bull, sometimes a cow with a calf etc. These people would take all of them and continue on their journey. It would take months for them to reach Benares. Finally, they would have darshan of Lord Shiva in Benares – Kashi Vishwanath. By this time, they have already detached from their family. It is almost as if they will not come back, because it takes a long time to reach there, especially from the Southern part of India. Then, they stay there in Kashi and often leave their body in Kashi too.

Look at this whole journey. First, they had a childhood, a meaningful childhood where they were taught the skills for an existence. These skills are usually useful for the village, for the society, such as cobblers, carpenters, doctors, physicians, etc. Whatever the society needs for a healthy lifestyle, those were the skills that were taught. After a while, they had their families. Because of their skills, they had their money/ income. The money sometimes would not just be physical cash; it would be materials to survive, so they got food to eat and other necessary things as well. The people in the village share all these things, so there was a big harmonious existence.

In those days, the temple of the village was the main meeting point. Everybody surrendered everything to the Deity and the distribution to everybody also happened from the temple. So the temple and the temple system made sure that nobody slept hungrily. Even the wandering monks staying in the temple would get food and shelter. It was not just a place of worship; it was a place of distribution. Temples used to have lots of land and local villagers farmed these lands. All the produce came to the temple and they (the people who manage the temple) would take what was necessary and distributed rest to the people. That was a beautiful system. Temples were involved in training people, in distribution and plus of course, religious/ spiritual ceremonies. The temple was of great significance then.

The Deity of the village played a big role, like the Mayor of a town. It was all justified because no one would want to cheat the Deity, for they all loved and respected the Deity. We never had the concept of ‘fearing God’. God-fearing is not our path. Our path is about loving God, being one with God, being connected to the frequency and energy (of god). That was our path. That has always been our path. So, we never feared God. We respected God, loved God, and hence we never did anything against God. This was the structure.

So, when they left after their healthy existence as a Grihastha (family person), or a state where they executed their skills and earned their money, they walked away. Each step they took amounts to detachment. Each step was a detachment from all of what they had earned – their families, their relations, their possessions – they were going away from it. Each step they took, they realised inside, “Now this is over”. It’s learning in detachment. Whatever you have earned and collected – all the possessions and positions – you are leaving behind and you are not sad about it because any way you have to leave it behind. You must go and meet Kashi Vishwanath, once in your lifetime.

They were like the Muslim brothers who go to Mecca today. Like that, they used to go to Benares. It takes time to reach there. By the time they reach Benares, they are already detached from the whole past. Finally, they settle down and only connect to God – Kashi Vishwanath. They chant, pray and stay there. Then, they leave the body there and their body was burnt on the Ghats. It was a very powerful system then. Even now, the first Abhishek or the offering, to Kashi Vishwanath, is the ash from the funeral pyre.

They were totally objective in this whole thing. When they learnt the skills, they knew that the skills had to be executed in a justifiable manner. Not for competing or cheating somebody or trying to make more money. Everybody has had a good existence. In addition, they had a deep connection with Deity of the temple, the presiding Deity of the village and that Deity is like the Lord of the village, the Mayor or the President of the village. They had that level of connection and simplicity, judicious behaviour, good behaviour, a balanced life. Once it was all done, they were going to the next space, where they were detaching from all that they had earned. Everything was distributed and given back. Whatever they had picked up from the village was given back. Every villager supported them, so all these people were participating in the journey. Then they went to Kashi, and by the time they reached there, it might be over two months. By this time, they learnt detachment & were very detached. This is called Vanaprastha (going into the jungle). Actually, you are not going into any jungle, you are actually detaching. Then, the last stage is Sanyasa.

Sanyasa means to be occupied only with God, connecting only to God.

kashi vishwanath
Kashi Vishwanath

Varanasi is the place where they arrive, and connect to Kashi Vishwanath, and only thinking about Kashi Vishwanath, they leave the body. By the time they leave the body, they are totally purified of desires, of everything. There is no junk inside. They are completely empty and purified. That ash of the funeral pyre is sacred enough for doing the Abhishek to Lord Shiva. That level of purification was achieved. Look at our system; it was so grand and so profound. We had a great system in our country and most of us still do not know this. I would suggest that we revive that kind of system. Today, we have access to go to Kailash. In those days, Kailash was very, very far away and one in a million could go there; because it was very tough to go to Kailash, in Tibet. Therefore, Kashi was the place where people went. However, very few actually ventured into Kailash and those people were almost treated like Shiva. If you reached the abode of Shiva, if you had the vision, the Darshan of Kailash, that was a huge purification. This was the structure.

This is exactly what Gurus say about the structure of our existence – the dharmic existence, the dharmic structure – there was depth in it. That is why I say, “Don’t search for Gurus, Gurus will come to you”. However, if you search for Gurus, it is just for your mental satisfaction. If you keep wandering from one Guru to the other, it only shows your insecurity.

Shraddha saburi
PC: Google images

If you are deeply connected with yourself, you will not have to wander. The right connections will come, the right energy will come, the right transformation will happen. Have patience. Baba says, “SABURI”. You need to be stable and steady, and that needs patience.

Always be stable. Always be steady. When you are chasing something all the time, there is a big chance that you are always distracted and never satisfied. Satisfaction happens when you are fully occupied with yourself and fully contented. Be happy with what you have. Appreciate everything. Do not criticise, judge, throw stones or do such things. Because when you throw stones, more stones are coming your way. Always remember, Karma retaliates. Karma gives back the same thing. When you say something is bad, somebody is bad etc., you are actually creating that thing in you. You are actually nurturing that pattern in you. Unless you are supposed to experience something, it will not come to you.

There is a cause for anything and everything that has happened in your life. Maybe there is a pattern, which you have maintained. Even with betrayal, jealousy, hatred etc., you have kept the pattern. Revenge is a very dangerous thing. Because when you take revenge on somebody, you almost die. A part of you dies. When you are attacking somebody, a part of you is dying. The goodness factor is seriously messed up. We need to maintain the goodness factor; allow Karma to take care of all the things that we don’t agree with. We should only focus on purity. That is why I insist that our group of followers practise positivity.

sai1

Let that be your benchmark – practice positivity at all times, and forget about negativity. Whenever there is positivity, there is negativity. Whenever there is light, there is a shadow. You cannot do anything about it, and you should not worry about it. When you are consistently focusing on positivity, you are automatically being purified. That is all you need and that will bring all the right frequencies into you. Remain PURE. Remain LOVE.

Consciousness Shift and the Covid 19 Pandemic

Mohanji1

I have been telling that from 2012, the shift has started. And I have told in various forums, various satsangs, various meetings; I’ve written as well, that from 2012 a shift is happening and a shift also means a shift in consciousness. A shift in consciousness needs time. People should have time with themselves, to meet themselves, to talk to themselves, to understand themselves; to connect to themselves, and align themselves. That time is given now. People are given time to be with themselves.

Life will not be the same on Earth. This has been told many centuries ago by people. I had reiterated that. But what causes a situation of this size? This also, we must understand. Collective consciousness creates situations. It is the collective human consciousness of seven point five billion people. How did it happen? It happened through fear, competition, insensitivity, divisions, distractions, displacements, wars. Religion has killed many more people than this Corona virus. Religion is still killing. Religions are still fighting and killing people.

I’m not even talking about other species. So many species are getting killed every day just because we like to eat them. We like to eat their bodies. That’s on one side about which various people have spoken at various times, including me. If you ask our people who have listened to me, I have said that it is time to be human; a time for understanding, assimilating, compassion. Why did people not listen to all this? People listen to Masters or people listen to good advice at their convenience.

78366260_2825292620834284_8407401054605410304_n

Most people do not even follow it. They listen and they forget. How many people follow it? Imagine a master; I’m not talking about myself, great masters; they have all talked eternal truths all the time. But how many of us are ready to follow it? If we don’t follow something; you can’t blame as well. Imagine a doctor treated you, diagnosed your ailment and prescribed a medicine for you. You threw the prescription away and you walked home. Then, if you complain that the doctor did not do the right thing, is the doctor to be blamed or the patient?

It’s like that. Masters have time and again spoken to people and said, “Please do not resort to violence, no wars, no bloodshed. Please live in peace. You should have peace within. You should accept other people as yourself. You should love every species as yourself. The same right that you have, they have; everybody has the same right on earth. The whole earth belongs to everybody. You do not have any priority. You are just one species on Earth.” Masters have spoken this over a period of time and even the mantras are for the whole nature to be peaceful. Let the beings who live in this nature be peaceful and then we say ‘Loka Samastha Sukino Bhavantu’ – let the whole beings of the world be peaceful, happy and blissful. So this has been told over and over again. But what are we doing? We are dividing all the time. Dividing between people, dividing between languages, dividing between religions based on all this and we do not see eye to eye with each other.

example

We look at another as not from us, not part of us, even though we are one species. So what created this situation? It’s not the gurus or the people who have connected to consciousness. I have never told anybody that I am connected to supreme consciousness for that matter. I have never told anybody that I am a guru. I have never, ever claimed that I am somebody’s guru. I have never claimed to be enlightened. So that is one thing, I would like to point out now.

This is people’s notions that Mohanji could be enlightened, whatever, that is up to the people. I’m not responsible for that. But having said that, there have been many masters speaking over a period of time and warning people, big destruction can happen if you do not change your ways. Why we did not pay attention? Instead, we killed the people who spoke. We crucified Jesus. We gave poison to Socrates. We harmed Jnaneshwar.

We did everything possible to disturb and destroy the truth; speakers of truth. We did that. We do that still. Anybody who sticks to the truth or speaks the truth, they are annihilated, assassinated, at least character assassinated. We see that every day, we see that even now. But at the same time, the people who sugar coat and try to play politics and try to be a surf rider in this existence, they are accepted. They are regarded. Those who speak well are more respected. Those who speak the truth are disrespected. But those who speak well, even if it is not the truth, they are respected. They are appreciated. They are given awards, acknowledgements; this is life. This is the reality. Why I’m insisting and saying this point is because anybody is walking the path of spirituality, (path of spirituality is the path of yourself, connecting to yourself deeply, unconditionally and perfect alignment is spirituality); you are connecting to yourself and aligning yourself. That is spirituality. If you’re walking the path of alignment or walking the path of material, both are the same when it comes to responsibility. We are all responsible for every being on Earth, not only our own species but every species. We have no right to kill. We have no right to spill blood; not only human blood, any blood for that matter. Nobody is born to satiate the appetite of human beings.

This is the truth which we must really understand, and which we must be very careful about. Nobody is born to satisfy our palate. We know very well that 2012 December the shift started; 2022 December – 1 segment, 10 years segment happens. Then again, it will continue. A shift is happening and shift also means shift over; shift in consciousness. A shift in consciousness means you’ve got to be extremely flexible, extremely compassionate, kind, selfless and unconditional in existence and love unconditionally.

degeneration

If love is your method of communication you are in a good mode of operation. You’re doing the right thing. So this is my answer. Please understand that it is not a problem with the masters. If you really follow a master, follow 100% even if the master is wrong. If you really trust him, trust him with your life. Trust him totally. If you don’t trust him, don’t go to him. No master asks you, “Please come to me”, or no master promises you, “Oh, please come. I’ll give you something.” True Masters will never, ever promise like that. If you are there, if you are available, maybe there’ll be a transformation. No guarantee, zero guarantees. This is your life; your walk, your connection, your conviction, and your destiny. So, you should be very clear. So I would like to say that do not go to any master expecting a miracle or a shift in the collective consciousness and creating a change in life. It will not happen.

Collective consciousness is much larger; let’s say six billion people; crazy, angry, running after, chasing things, comparing, criticizing in that unconscious mode. And let’s say one billion people are living in only peace and no competition, no comparison, only love. Which is more? Six billion is always more. The consciousness of the remaining one billion cannot supersede the six billion. Understand collective consciousness has a big role to play. World wars were created by collective consciousness. Ideological warfare was created by collective consciousness. Religions, religious movements, wars, bloodshed, displacements were created by collective consciousness. All these are connected to a collective consciousness. We must be clear and aware of this!

Mohanji on Bhagavan Nityananda

Satsang in Sarajevo, Bosnia – 16th May 2017

Transcribed from this video by Biljana Vozarevic

bhagwan-nityananda

Q: Everybody’s talking about Sai Baba, but there isn’t much information about Nityananda.

M: Just like we are born, at a particular time, at a particular place, for some reason, all masters are born the same way. They have a perfect reason for taking birth in a particular frequency, for a particular duration. Everybody – all of us are the same, so masters are not different from us that way. When you become enlightened, and then after enlightenment, there is a consistent effort to dissolve our unit structure and become the ocean. Then there is usually no reason to come back and take another birth. You don’t have to come back.

Nityananda was found on a small street as a baby. Nobody knows about his parents. There was a snake protecting the baby. We are talking about Bhagavan Nityananda who left his body in 1961. (There is another Nithyananda – Paramahansa Nithyananda – who is in the body)

He was taken care of by a family and was displaying many miracles right from his childhood. I can talk about a few of his miracles.

… I The Ganga should flow here!

nity-003

He traveled towards the north until he came to Bombay. On the way, he was settled in a place called Kanhangad. He was meditating there. As there was no water in that area, he said, “Why should the Ganga only flow in the north? The Ganga should flow here!“ Immediately water started flowing. That water is still there even today.

… II Catching up with the bus

a383ef2a7568195863466b20c3b6518f

One day, he was standing at the bus stop. He was trying to go somewhere. He never used to wear any clothes. He only wore underwear, that’s all. A bus was coming, and he waved at the bus to stop. The bus driver looked at him and thought, “This man is not wearing any clothes,“ and decided against stopping the bus. When the bus reached the next stop, the driver found Nityananda was standing there as well. Then the bus reached the third stop and again the driver found Nityananda was standing there the same way. Finally, the driver stopped and Nityananda got on it.

… III Miraculous touch

nityaseshayana

Another story, he was again standing at the bus stop. He saw one woman walking. He went ahead and caught her dress. People were angry. They were chasing him. He was shouting, “She’s healed! She’s healed!“ Nobody understood what he was saying. Then they asked this lady, “What was wrong?“ She said she had had breast cancer on both breasts. When Nityananda caught her dress, she was healed.

… IV Train tickets

nityananda-sitting-up

Once he was traveling by train and he did not buy the ticket. So the ticket checker came and asked him,“Where is your ticket?“

Nityananda said, “What ticket?“

The ticket checker said “If you want to travel by this train, you must have a ticket. Can you show me a ticket?“

The ticket checker showed Nityananda a ticket and said, “It should look like this.“

Then he took one ticket from his underwear and gave it to the ticket checker.

The ticket checker asked him, “So you’re going from this particular stop to that particular stop?“

“No, I want to go further”, he said and took another one.

Finally, he gave the ticket checker all the tickets – about fifty tickets in all – right from where the train was starting to it’s final destination. The ticket checker was really surprised, “How can this man produce all these tickets and he’s only wearing underwear? There’s no way he can hide these tickets. And the tickets were all for that day, not a collection of the old tickets from the past!”

… V A pot of gold

5b16a04abc8f480ff9542af8cf88995d

There is always a group of people who talks bad about any master. The same thing was happening with Nityananda, too. Some people went and told the income tax authorities, the people who collect tax, saying, “This man is financing schools and so many institutions and he doesn’t have any income. How does he get this money!?“ So they said, “He is probably doing something illegal. Maybe he is printing money or maybe he is an agent laundering people’s black money.” So the income tax people came to Nityananda and asked him, “What’s your source of income? Show us where you got this money.“

Nityananda asked, “Who are you?“

They said, “We’re from the government. We’re income tax people. We want to know where you are getting the money.“

Then he said, “I pick it up from that pond,“ pointing to a water basin, “Whenever I need money, I pick it up from there.“

“Are you playing with us? Are you joking? We can arrest you. We’re powerful.“

Nityananda said, “I’m not joking. I’ll show you. Come with me.“

He took them to the pond. He jumped into the water and brought out a pot of gold. He said, “Whenever I need money, I go down, I pick one piece of gold and that is what I use.“

They could not do anything.

… VI A true master makes more masters

25-1493123959-5

A true master makes more masters. He was a true master and most of his disciples became very powerful masters. This is a sign of a true master. It’s not one who teaches well. Anybody can teach well. But if you can create more masters, you’re a true master.

He was wandering and, finally, he reached Ganeshpuri. He used to sit there and ended up staying there for the rest of his life. A lot of people used to come and see him and they were very afraid to be near him because he sometimes slapped them or scolded them. He mostly scolded people. When he scolded people, big karmic blockages were removed. He would always be talking something to himself. So many people thought that he was probably mad.

Towards the end of his life, he wanted to go to the south where he came from. Then the people of Ganeshpuri said, “Guruji, you have lived here all your life. We would like you to leave your body here so that we can take care of it.” So he left his body there. Ganeshpuri is an amazing and a very powerful place.

VII How he was operating was difficult to understand or record

a66b0f96f217d0701c64c1b2744f7bb0

There are many, many stories of Nityananda, but the thing is it’s difficult to even understand how he was operating. He was such a powerful master. When a master is very powerful and his operating levels are multi-dimensional, it’s difficult to record it. If there is a pattern, we can record it. For example, if he was in one place and was doing certain things in a certain order and miracles were happening, these can be documented. However, if a master is working on a much larger platform, through lots of people, improving standards of lives, it’s difficult to document.

And many people do not tell the truth. They only talk something bad. How many people say there was an amazing transformation happening in their life? Very few people. Most people say, “Oh, I went to him. He didn’t give it to me. So he isn’t good.” This is what you hear a lot. Even now, if you look at how people talk, they like to talk negative. How many people talk positive? This was also the case with Nityananda. A lot of people did not even understand him and therefore documentation was not perfect. That is why we don’t know many stories of him. These are the stories which were told by people to people. They did not write it down themselves and it was finally recorded after a few generations.

I can talk about my experience if you are not bored already 🙂

My experiences with Nityananda

My first experience with Nityananda – Guided by an invisible hand

ganeshpuri-temple

I did not know anything about Nityananda, like most people. One day, I was writing a blog and his image came to my mind, for no reason. Of course, there is a reason, but at that time there was no apparent reason. His image came to my mind and I just put his picture and wrote, “Earth became better because he walked on it.“ I did not know why I wrote that. I had no particular idea or a plan, but within a couple of months, I reached Ganeshpuri. My original plan was to go to the samadhi of Baba Muktananda (his disciple who succeeded him) first, then to go to Nityananda’s samadhi. However the car took me directly to Nityananda’s samadhi because the driver did not know the way. The car stopped exactly at the place where Nityananda’s body was kept. They allowed me to come inside where only the priest can go even though it was not allowed for anyone to go inside. Furthermore, those people did not know me. However, they said, “You can come in,“ and I did. I touched the idol where his body is kept. That was an amazing experience for me.

My second experience with Nityananda –

Meeting Vimalananda, Nityananda’s disciple

Sri-Adi-Shankara

There is a temple in the south called Mookambika. A bit high on the mountain where Adi Shankara did tapas (penance) and the Goddess appeared. She said, “What can I do for you?“

Adi Shankara said, “I would like you to come with me to my place so I can make a temple for you.”

The Goddess said, “Ok, you walk. I’ll come with you. But if you have one doubt in your mind, I will stop at that point and not go any further from there.” It means you should have so much faith in your mind that you should not doubt. If you doubt once, finished. Grace is gone.

Adi Shankara was walking and the Goddess was walking behind him. She was wearing anklets. The sound was coming, so Adi Shankara knew she was coming. After a while, the sound stopped. The Goddess was testing him. She held on to the anklets. Sound was not coming.

Adi Shankara walked for some more time, then a doubt entered, “Is she actually coming behind me?“ He turned and looked.

The Goddess said, “Doubt entered your mind. Grace is gone. Finished. I’m staying right here.“

1280px-kollur_mookambika_temple_20080123

That place is Mookambika Temple. That temple has been a heaven for many, many masters. Most masters including Sathya Sai Baba, have stayed there at that place. Sathya Sai Baba, Bhagavan Nityananda, Avadhoota Nadananda, etc. All these masters spent some time there, or they got something from there. Also, up the hill there is the spear of the goddess. Apparently the Goddess killed a demon there and there is a big spear sticking out into the sky. They tested the metal in the scientific labs. They could not find which metal it was made of. It is not from earth. That spear is still there. There are a few temples there as well.

So I was visiting these places and then I heard there is one disciple of Nityananda staying there. His name was Swami Vimalananda. He has also left his body. Do you know how I reached this person? It happened like this. I was visiting the Mookambika temple. When I came out, there were a few people standing, begging for food and money. I saw one guy who was wearing a good shirt. He looked clean like he had taken a bath. But he was also begging. I asked him, “Are you hungry?“ He said, “Yes.“ I said, “Come with me.“ I was going for breakfast. I took him for breakfast. I told him, “Eat whatever you want, I’ll pay the bill.“ He sat at a table, he ordered only one dish, ate it, then he came to me and said, “I’m fine.“ Then I said, “Go. I’ll pay.“ I asked him one question, “What about lunch? Do you want to take some food now for lunch? I can give you.“ He said, “No. Somebody will give me lunch.“ That means he is a true saint. He isn’t worried about the future. He’s only existing at that time. He is happy that he got food. If he did not get food, he would fast. That means he had actually become a saint. Not worried about the future at all. He did not want anything for lunch, the next meal. I was very intrigued to have seen him and he went soon after that.

Next day, the same thing happened. I was coming out of the temple, this man was standing there, I asked the same question, before he asked me, I asked him, “Are you hungry?“ He said, “Yes.“ I said, “Come with me.“ The same thing repeated.

That day I was planning to go to the river to take a bath. You have to go further down about a kilometer to where the river that flows. I wanted to take a bath there, so I was going towards that direction. Suddenly, I saw the board of a temple. I don’t know why but I just felt like turning there. There were a couple of people with me. One of them was taking pictures. We went in and when we reached the temple, there was a small platform. This man who had had breakfast with me was lying down there. He looked at me, he was very excited to see me and he said, “Oh, you have come here, go into the temple.” Then he said, “Swami Vimalananda who is a follower of Bhagavan Nityananda is there now, but he doesn’t see people. He is the same like Nityananda. His face is angry. You don’t know whether he likes you coming in or not.“

One person was taking pictures and later on when we checked, this person (who came for breakfast) was not in any of the pictures. There was no picture of this person. Who he was, nobody knew. His job was to bring me there. After that, even though I stayed two more days there, I never saw him. Only those two days during breakfast and third time here. Then he disappeared. He was nowhere, not even in the picture. Then we went into the temple, which was full of pictures of Nityananda. We worshipped there and I asked the priest, “Can we meet Vimalananda?“ He said,“Please wait, let me check.“ I said, “Just tell him Mohanji has come.“ If he can see through, then he will invite. Otherwise, if I am not eligible, I should not meet him. He called the three of us. By that time, he was very old and unwell. His leg was swollen and he was having tremendous pain. He asked me, “What do you want from me?“ I said, “Nothing, just your blessings.“

bhagawanblessing

Then he said a few things about Nityananda. Nityananda told him, “I stayed three years in Mookambika, you stay thirty years.“ Before Nityananda left the body, Nityananda sent Vimalananda to this place where Vimalananda was presently staying. Vimalananda has stayed here for the last thirty years. When Nityananda said, “Go to Mookambika,“ He did not go. He did not want to leave his guru. He wanted to be around the guru.

Nityananda asked, “Why are you standing here?“

Vimalananda said, “I don’t want to go.“

Nityananda said, “Get out of this place!“

Vimalananda said, “How can I go without you?“

Nityananda was covered with a blanket. He gave the blanket to him. He said, “This is me, take it. Go!“

Until now, he has been meditating on that blanket. When we went there, he was sitting on that blanket.

This is my second experience of Nityananda.

So I believe that NItyananda brought me to that temple to meet this Vimalananda.

My third experience with Nityananda

nityananda-smiling-agnya-glowing

My third experience with Nityananda was more interesting. Nityananda had created many masters during his time. Whomever he touched became a master. I believe that he has a role to play in whatever I am today. Nityananda had one disciple called Rakhadi Baba. Rakhadi means he only used to wear ashes on his body. Rakhadi Baba had a very, very powerful disciple called Poornananda who succeeded him. I had never heard of Rakhadi Baba nor Poornananda. In 2014, some people and I were visiting one powerful place of Lord Dattatreya. One saint wanted to see me. The saint didn’t speak English. For me, it was very difficult to communicate with him because I couldn’t speak his language, but he said,“I want to meet Mohanji.“ He came to this place where we went. His lineage is Bhagawan Nitynanda, Rakhadi Baba, Poornananda, Sadananda, then this man whom I met, Thyagananda. Poornananda left his body on April 6th, 2000. Before he left his body, he took out the mala that he was wearing, gave it to Thyagananda, and said, “One day Mohanji will come. Give it to him.“

mohanji-meeting-swamy-thyagananda

Fourteen years later, I got it. He left the body on 6th April 2000, and on 24th December 2014, I met Thyagananda and he gave me the mala. Tyagananda asked Poornananda, “How will I recognise Mohanji?“ He said, “Look into his third eye. You can see a blazing sun.“ When I entered the room where he was sitting, he looked at me and he choked. Tears came into his eyes, he could not speak for some time. While I was sitting there, Poornananda told him,“Transfer all your powers to Mohanji. He has big work to do in the world.“ He asked me, “Can I transfer it to you?“ So I kneeled down. He transferred his powers, gave me the mala, gave me the garment and then we left. Poornananda was wearing this mala for a long time, it was like an atomic bomb, it was so powerful.

swamy-thyagananda-honouring-mohanji-love-of-the-masters

That is one part of the story. There are more miracles associated with it, but I am talking about the lineage. Bhagawan Nityananda’s lineage came through Thyagananda to me.

My fourth experience with Nityananda

Then, in 2015 I met Avadhoota Nadananda. I think some of you have read the book, “Autobiography of an Avadhoota”. I was in Benares (aka Varanasi). One family who knew me invited me for breakfast. When I went for breakfast, they gave me a book written by Nadananda. That is how I came to know about him. When I looked at the picture, I saw a lot of energy on the face, very powerful. I asked them, “Who is this person?“ Then the person who gifted me the book said, “He is a very powerful master who is still in the body.“ I said, “I want to meet him.“ He said,“I don’t know where he is, but you can meet him“ and he gave me a contact number.

avadhoota-nadananda-mohanji-blog

Nadananda never takes calls. So I was trying the number for a long time but couldn’t reach him. Then I thought, “Ok, I can’t meet him.” Then I travelled overseas conducting programmes in various parts of the world. When I came back, I found this book was sitting on my bed! Normally it would be on some shelf. But this was on my bed. Then I thought, “This book is sitting on my bed, that means I have to do something.” I called the number again. But he was not picking again. So I said, “Ok, leave it.” and I put the book on the shelf.

In December, I was filming in Shirdi for a film in which I was acting. Nadananda was staying about eight hours from Shirdi. I decided to meet him. We went to meet him, myself, Devi, Mila and a few other people. We already informed him that we were coming and he arranged a room for us. The room was next to where they store the grains and that place was full of rats. The bed was on the floor. You had to ask the rats, “Can I sleep a little bit?” 🙂 But we never felt anything. We were coming to meet a great master and we were all happy to sleep with the rats. I was hoping there were no snakes because when the rats come, the snakes get tempted to see what they were doing. 🙂

When I met Nadananda for the first time, he asked me, “Why have you come? What do you need from me?” I never go to any master for getting something. I just go empty and whatever happens, happens. If we go with expectation, we come with disappointment. So I never ever visit any master for something or expecting something. I just go, whatever happens, happens. Later on Nadananda said, “Your job was to come, our job is to fill in.“ The tradition operates that way. If a person comes, they never go empty-handed. Whatever possible, masters fill in. When I said I needed nothing, he said, “Mother will tell me why you are here. Nobody comes to see me without a reason.“

Next day we were all there and suddenly he came and said, “I want to honour Mohanji.” Then he gave me a shawl and a Sri Yantra (a sacred geometry depicting the Divine Mother), etc. I call him Guruji. I said, “Guruji, I don’t need any honour. I’m fine. I’m not expecting anybody to honour me. I’m ok.“ He said, “No, no. It’s an instruction.“ Later he wrote about it. He wrote when Mohanji came he liked me because I was empty and I never asked anything. Secondly, while he was sitting alone, Babaji told him, “We sent Mohanji to you. Take care of him.“ Then I came to know about the lineage, Bhagawan Nityananda, his disciple Maa Taramayee, then Avadhoota Nadananda. So again the lineage came back.

img_6025

More or less a similar thing happened. Nadananda transferred his spiritual bank balance to me like Thyagananda did. You see, again the river started from NItyananda.

My fifth experience with Nityananda

One more channel came. This is a master who is not in the body. Nadananda is in his body. This Swami was living in a temple close to where Nityananda was living in Ganeshpuri. Apparently, this is the place where Nityananda came first before he went to the place where he stayed later in Ganeshpuri. This man was bent. Some of you may have seen his picture. His name was Vasudevan Swamy. He was worshipping the padukas (footwear) of Nityananda.

One night, people threw stones at him. No stone hit him. The next time I went to him, I asked, “Swami, did you see who threw the stones? Did you complain to the police?“ He said, “No, no no, we should not look at who threw the stones because we will have anger towards them and our mind will get contaminated. We should not get contaminated. We should not see who is throwing stones. And we don’t have to tell the police, because their karma will take care of them. Why should we worry?“

Since then, he has also left the body.

The last time I met him he said two things. One,“ Mohanji, I always remember you. Every day, I think about you.“ Second, “Bhagawan NItyananda lives with you.“ He said these two things. These were more or less his last words to me.

In Conclusion

So this lineage came to me through various means, through various masters. And why don’t we know much about Bhagawan Nityananda? Especially when he created diamonds out of stones, i.e. out of normal people, he created masters. This is very difficult to see, very difficult to understand and very difficult to explain.

Sai Baba had done the same. He had created various masters. Every true master has created more masters. I think that’s about it, about Nityananda.

What Can I Do?

Dear All,

Before the meditation on last Thursday 7 April 2011, Mohanji looked completely different when he entered the meditation hall. He looked slim, young and fully charged. Usually, as he enters, he will do his prayers and will be in communion all the time. Then in a sharp glance, he will connect with all those who are present. On this Thursday, he did all that, but there was a different intensity and seriousness throughout these happenings. As Mohanji sat there, he did not give anyone a chance  to talk and delivered the following message in one go, with tremendous, exceptional energy, intensity, and deep concern.  While he was talking, I felt as if my Manipur and Swadhisthan chakras were going topsy-turvy. Every word was hitting hard. There was pin drop silence. The truth had a tremendous effect on us. He talked non-stop for thirty-five minutes. It only felt like five minutes had elapsed. When he finished talking, he asked for bananas to be brought to him, blessed them and asked for them to be distributed for all of us to eat. This was the first time I had seen him doing a Prasad distribution before the arathi and meditation. We were all quite surprised. A few commented that they felt as if the banana was settling things inside of them. He calmly said, “Yes, I gave it to let the message sink into you, to let it settle in you”.

The arati and meditation that followed were intense too. A strange thing happened. The food that was prepared on this particular Thursday, tasted different after meditation. The pineapple raita turned bitter, the rice and curry tasted spicier and the apples and sweets also did not taste fresh. It was as if along with we people, even the food had become gross! Everything, except the banana that had Mohanji blessed and given us, tasted gross!!!

Dear family members, I sincerely request you all to please read on, to absorb this message with the same intensity with which Mohanji delivered it, and to ponder over it.

Love,

Deepali

Mohanji begins to speak. “There is another plane being developed to accommodate denser energies. Here on the earth however, the consciousness is falling more and more. Good people are getting sucked in. We should be extremely vigilant to stay in the white path (Path of Dharma). It is like a desperate attempt of dark to dominate. Very heavy. They will do all that is possible to keep us away from the source. All Masters are working hard to keep and maintain the good, to contain the bad. But usually what the mind fancies is the dark. What is not too palatable is the white. To stay in the path which is for elevation, we need to be extraordinarily careful. Mind will put forth all sorts of blockages. All sorts of different ideas and thoughts will be generated by mind. Oh! Why do we not just try this way or that way? No problem, experimentation is part of spirituality. Why do I not just experiment? But if experimentation is taking one step further deeper into the whirlpool, what is its use? You lose your soul.

Identifying  the path of great Masters is difficult. It is very easy to get out of the path. Do not consider this message as a threat. Consider this as a message to be vigilant. We should sharpen our faculties of discrimination. We should sharpen our senses. All sorts of objects, confusions and lures will be kept in front of you to suck you in. It will create conflict within people. It will also create conflict within you. It will create a lot of discomfort within you.  It will create inner conflict. It will say – Why are you bothered? Here is your comforter and pillow. Just relax. And then, you think that this is your path. But once you are sucked in, you cannot escape. This is a binding. It is just the opposite of our plan of liberation. Comfort zones are created to bind. Comfort zones are created to lure wandering souls into the path of captivity.

There are entities that thrive only on the consciousness of people. Consciousness is their food! Please be aware of that. All Masters are doing extraordinary, extra hours of tedious work to safeguard people. But Masters never impose, just as your soul never imposes anything on you. You choose it. Any true Master, or any path, is just like your soul, guiding you to your own soul. The negative path has an enormous variety of lures and attractions. It is a treacherous path. At one point, we may say and feel that we are fine and we will divert and choose the way which we feel is comfortable. Many of the new generation spiritual teachers who are using the white symbols are not from the path of liberation. They are using the symbols of the positive path to lure, attract and bind unsuspecting seekers into the ritualistic dark path.

It depends how long you will prolong and keep patience and entertain tenacity to be in the positive path. You are sitting on a tree and the tree is being shaken constantly. If you have the tenacity to cling on to the tree you will survive. If not, at some point in time, you will get frustrated and you will drop your hands and leave the tree. You will fall. Then to climb up again will take time! Not just time or this life. It may take several lifetimes to reach where you were, or to climb again!

You may ask then, what is the role of the True Masters? Why are they not protecting us? They are protecting. But if you choose another path, they will not object because it is your free will. Just like your soul never objected to whatever you wanted to do. It only helped you.  If you wanted to sit here today; soul aided you. Your mind decided to come here today. Soul never asked you to come here, but your mind decided to come.

I would like you to take these words seriously. This is because times are moving faster. This is the time to hold on.  IF you hold on, you save yourself. Then you do not have to worry. You are firmly established in the path of liberation. You will not take many more bodies. You will be fine. If you fall, how many more lifetimes will you have to take? Difficult to say! It could be quite many!

I want you to chew on this message. How much our mind is making us crazy?  How many sensory or sensual lures are put forth every day? And we shift from one Master to another and the body and mind keeps moving achieving nothing!

Another important thing is TAMAS. Tamas is the sword of the dark. Tamas is the nectar or lure of the dark. Being Sattvic or even rajasic to some extent can lead to liberation. Tamas can only lead to  binding. Tamas is given to you and you enjoy it. Oh, I am fine today or I am lazy today. I may try tomorrow! Like that, Tamas works at every point. Laziness, inertia, greed, anxiety, fears, anger…. all of these vices are given by Tamas. Let me make money today, I will try to help somebody tomorrow. We will never think, let me share what I have today. We think, let me make one million. Once I have one million, then I will start charity. One million can never be enough however, because your lifestyle has changed. You need more to stay with the same lifestyle or improve on it. You will never be satisfied. If we have one million, we look forward to two million to be happy. This is how it goes all the time. Our mind will never be satisfied with any material. It will ask for more.

The most important message that I want you to be aware of is this –“The present time has two edges. It is like a sword which has two edges. If you hold on to the path of White (path of Dharma), then nothing can stop you. You are automatically lifted up. At the same time, if you fall from this path, you will take lifetimes to reach here. This shift in awareness and understanding is important. The awareness is provided to you in such a way that this awareness itself automatically takes you higher. Time is automatically taking you higher. All you have to do is JUST BE in the path of Dharma. Just keep inner purity and deep faith with zero expectation. Just be fluid and just flow with absolute spontaneity.

WATCH YOURSELF. Watch how your mind functions. Is it creating greed, anxiety, fear and doubts? If this is the case, ask mind again – Is that necessary or is this the real me? At the same, mind could be creating benevolence against all odds. For example, if I have one dollar to spare, let me share it with someone who does not have that. It is not that you don’t eat or enjoy the fruits of life. You do eat, but you also share. First feed your family. Safeguard yourself and then help others. This way you will exist in perpetual consciousness all the time. Otherwise you may say, let me make one million and then I will start charity. That one million will never be enough. One million should be 2, 3 and then 4. It goes on.

Similarly, we often ask the question – Why do I have to do this? Why can’t someone else do this? This is Tamas. Tamas is the weapon of darkness. Tamas is darkness. Tamas makes you tired, it gives you inertia. It tells you – It’s okay for today, let’s see tomorrow. Tamas leads you to the trap. Through inertia, one loses life. Once you marry darkness, you lose your life. You lose your soul. Existing in Tamas will make you lose soul. Greed happens. So many emotions happen.  This is the reality of existence and we should be clear about it.

I would like you to contemplate on it for the next 2-3 weeks. Watch your thoughts and watch yourself very closely. Introspect! What are my ingredients? What am I consisting of? What is making me work? What is the provocation behind every action or reaction? Is it selflessness or selfishness?

Existence itself is bliss. But it depends upon your mind. Whether mind will accept it or not? Mind may not accept. Otherwise every moment is bliss. If you are able to accept today, right now, without resistance, it is bliss. Accepting your reality in a different mode is not bliss. It is frustration.

Are you confused by what I am saying? If you live this truth, then it is bliss. I am seeing people getting sucked in. I encounter too many of them each day. When you get sucked in, there will be an inclination to come out of that. It is like quicksand or a whirlpool. You are working very hard to get out of the whirlpool, but the whirlpool itself sucks you in. It throws you into a zone where there is no map in your hand or compass for directions. You cannot find the way out. You may know the destination, but not the way. Then you may get stranded for lifetimes.

At present, if you commit a crime during Sattvic time (3 AM to 6 AM), it has much more impact than when you commit a crime during Rajasic or Tamasic time. This is because the whole atmosphere is in a prayerful subtlety. Morning from 3-6 am is a Sattvic time. Whatever you do at that time reverberates all over the universe in a much larger way with much deeper intensity. One will carry heaviness much more if a crime is committed at that time. I am not saying that committing crime at other times than Sattvic is better; but the impact is different. Non-violence is the path for spiritual elevation.

Please understand that this whole year, this period of time through the shift, is Sattvic. Predominantly Sattvic! I am not saying 100% Sattvic.  That is why those who have an inclination to evolve are coming together. They have been given the guidance. So, you have the choice. Nobody is forcing anything on you. You have the choice to stay in this path and move.

Introspection is extremely important to stay in the path. You have to keep watching yourself and your thoughts. Ask yourself – Am I getting more Tamasic?  There is only one medicine for being Tamasic; and that is to become Rajasic. Action beats Tamas. Get on and get moving. When Rajas becomes extreme, it shifts to Sattva by itself. This is a difference between Tamas and Rajas.  It takes effort to move from Tamas and go into Rajas. Keep moving, take actions! The transition from Rajas to Sattva, however, is beautiful and automatic. One cannot make efforts to become Sattvic. If you put in efforts, sometimes, you slip back into Tamas, because those efforts often carry expectations as well as the corresponding frustrations.

If you think – “I am not feeling good, let me sit and meditate”. This is procrastination. Meditation becomes escapism here. You need to address the issue that provokes tamas in you. Meditate because you love to meditate not because of any other reason. Please understand what I mean. At such times, the best way to beat Tamas is to be hyperactive. Extreme action leads to inaction in Sattvic mode. Sattvic mode in existence over a period of time may slip back to Tamas. A person works hard and comes to the shape of Sattva and then to the mode of Sattva. From here, you can slip back into Tamas. Again you need to rejuvenate into extreme action. When you feel INERTIA, think about this. Switch to extreme action. Change the gear and beat it! Swami Vivekananda said, “Go and play football”. He did not say, “Go and meditate”.  Tire yourself and then sleep. This sleep is not Tamasic sleep. Body is tired, you want to rest and this is ok! The other way round, when we are tired and lazy and do not want to get out of bed, it is tamas and definitely not good. Do you really understand what I am saying? This is very important and I want you to chew on this. Digest it as much as possible.

In reality, nobody needs a Guru. The guru principle itself will guide you. You do not need anyone to come and tell you to do it this way or that way! This is a fundamental truth of life and fundamental truth of existence. It is simple yet really effective.

When people say, “Let me meditate and I will talk to you later”. Is that meditation or you do not like some situations and you are escaping. I am not too “pro” visiting temples which are far away. But, if you take the trouble of visiting them, it is still better. This is because it is an action and not Tamas.  It takes great efforts to walk all the way to the shrine of Shabari Mala or Vaishno mata temple. What moves you? Bhakti or devotion moves you. Your inclination for that activity as well as surrender moves you. In this way, it is good since it is not Tamas. That is why temples are sometimes built far away and high up on hill tops and may not be easily accessible. You must shed your Tamas and take the trouble of reaching there. Then one reaches Sattva. You reach temple, you pray, you melt, you become one with God, you feel connected to God and you feel good. You can feel the inner vibrations are changing. Vibrations go from your third eye to the Deity’s third eye, from its Anahata (heart chakra) to yours. The circular motion happens between you and the Deity. This is individualistic. Nobody can give this to you. You do not need a poojari (priest or one who performs rituals in the temples) between the deity and you! Why do you need anyone? It is individualistic – you, your soul and your connection. I can only give the message. The walking of path is for you to do.  I want you to chew on this for the next 3 weeks. This is very important. Otherwise what happens? I am coming for the meditation. Good enough, very nice, but what about evolution? Evolution is a big question mark. Evolution is important. Whether one sits here or not, many people are still connecting with us. No location matters. Location has no value; attitude has a value.

We are the kind of people who do not forgive ourselves, who forget to forgive others too! We judge ourselves and create more and more walls every day. Finally, we are unable to get out. There are some variety of spiders, which build webs but get themselves caught up in those very webs and die!

I do not know if I have conveyed the message clearly, but I would like to tell you that this is a very serious message and I want you to take it seriously.

I do not want to scare you, I want to make you aware.

Life is very short. We think we are here forever. Sorry, we are only here for a few months. The entire story lasts more or less 80 years perhaps?. Out of that, for some parts of your life you are unable to do anything, like your childhood years and then after the age of 55-60 years. One is helpless in these times. Body does not support you. Out of 80 years of life, more than 40% is spent in a helpless state. Body deteriorates. You often need to go to the garage to repair it. The only constant thing is ego. Ego remains strong and that keeps us going. Mind, body and emotions all are changing, the only constant thing is ego. Nothing else is constant. This is a reality of existence. Please understand, this is not to scare you but to make you more aware. No need to be scared of anything. What is there to scared about? We should, however, be aware.

So, in another plane, spaces have been created to accommodate the denser souls while Masters clean up the earth. But on this plane, darkness is trying to catch us as much as possible. The water is kept murky with human confusions. Catch as many fish as possible, because the fish cannot see through murky water. This is what is happening. Why is the water murky? Because it is a transition. There is always some kind of uncertainty during transition. One can get sucked in fast while in uncertainty. Without your knowledge, you are pulled into a different net. And who allows that; your mind. If you are on the path of white (path of Dharma), hold on to the feet of the tradition. Do not leave the feet of the great Masters. This is a 100% ensured way.

In the path of Avadhoota, there is no give and take. There are no conditions or conditionings or even concepts. It is a straight deal.

If mind is continuously blocking, just remember that more lives have to be expected to clear the backlog; maybe in another plane, with all sorts of things like greed, jealousy, anger, one-up-man-ship and fights.

I hope I am not scaring you. If you do not understand this message, travelling further will be difficult. My intention is that you should understand this aspect. It is not to scare anybody. I want you to digest this message well. You need this message to move ahead. Forget about Gurus; NOW, talk about yourself. Think about your mind, how it functions. How caught up are you? How liberated are you? Instead of asking the question – Why should I do it? Ask the question – How Can I do it? What else can I do? Your first question should be, just like in customer service,  – Can I help you? Beat Inertia. Your next question should be, Can I help you further? What else can I do??

Love You Through Time…

M

Living the Teachings

"If there is righteousness in the heart, there will be beauty in the character. If there is beauty in the character, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. When there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world." Sathya Sai Baba

Dear All,

It was March 31st 2011. Meditation was about to begin. First was the Satsang with Mohanji. He sat down in his chair. All of us took our seats, some sat on the floor. Mohanji closed his eyes for a few minutes. Before anybody could ask any questions, he asked us a question: “What is the BEST gift you can give to your beloved Guru?” This question was followed by a pin drop silence. The question lingered in the air. Everyone started digging deep into themselves to find the right answer. It was interesting. This was quite unusual. Mohanji was visibly purposeful. He closed his eyes and awaited our answer. Answers flowed: “Pray for their health; Protect the Guru; Support the Guru; Spread his messages; Contribute towards his mission’s expenses”, etc.

After some time, Mohanji answered: “The BEST gift you can give to your beloved Guru, is to LIVE HIS TEACHINGS. When you live his teachings, you become one with your Guru, whoever your Guru is. It does not matter. But, if you respect your Guru, if you appreciate His teaching, LIVE IT. That is the least and that is the best you can do for him.” A deep silence fell upon us. Something profound was happening. This was important. Simple, but true; the core and essence of the truth.

Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba from Puttaparthy, Bangalore, India has been hospitalized for a heart and lung problem. Baba took this body in 1926, eight years after Shirdi Baba left his body. Right from the time He was born, many miracles happened which proved his difference from other children. He has been working relentlessly in multiple levels, to spread the basic rules of human existence, such as LOVE, TRUTH, PEACE, NONVIOLENCE and DHARMA. This is our tradition. Sai represents the eternal tradition based on Sanatana Dharma.

Mohanji continued: “The purpose of Bhagawan’s living was to give us the full guidelines of life. What more can we give to Bhagawan? Because He knows very well how long he should stay in His body. Will you pray to keep him in the body? What can we pray for an Avatar?

The best gift you can give to any Guru is to live his teachings. Guru does not want anything else. When you live your Guru’s teachings, Guru is happy. His life and time on Earth becomes worthwhile. What else can you give to a Guru? You may give him medicines to sustain his body, but is Bhagawan interested in that? Living in body itself is painful for Gurus and real Masters or Avatars. It is also a big restriction because you need to operate through body. Perhaps, it would have been much better for Satya Sai not to be in the body at all! But then, people would not understand him. People need to touch and feel. People need tangibility. We cannot understand the Omnipresent Parabrahma. So, Sai chose to take birth and live in a body, so that He can communicate with you. You need a tangible format so that you see the Guru, you hear him, you see him talking and walking. Or you will not know him. Omnipresent Parabramha is here, but we cannot see him. We do not feel him. We cannot see air. When air leaves this place, you understand that you are suffocated, you gasp for breath. We take the air around us for granted. We do the same with the Grace.

What is Grace? What has it got to do with life? Simple answer! What has an umbrella got to do with rain! Umbrella does not stop the rain but prevents you from getting drenched. Grace protects you, it does not stop an event. Grace flows. It is pitched against collective consciousness. Collective consciousness creates situations. E.g. it elects the ruler or the king! Grace protects you from the sun but cannot remove the sun. In the rain, some water will drop on you from the sides, but overall, with an umbrella, you are protected. You have to suffer, but you suffer less! You will get wet but not as much as if you were standing under the rain. This is the importance of grace. Similarly, when Guru leaves the place, we feel he is gone….. While Guru is in the body, we do not actually appreciate him. We take him for granted.

It is not a tragedy for Him or for the Universe when Bhagawan leaves the body; because He has done his job. It is a tragedy for human beings who could not catch the message and need the physical form.

I sincerely want to convey that Bhagawan has done a great favor to be here on the earth with us; whether he continues to stay in His body or not. His teaching is basically love and truth. If you love Bhagawan, live and love his teachings. That is the best gift you can give him. Then the purpose of His Avatar was worth it. How much ever we pray otherwise is of no use.

Do not just spread his teachings by writing messages or posting them by mail, LIVE HIS TEACHINGS.
We remember his teaching by living it or practicing it. Because there should be application of teachings in the real life. Otherwise, we will just talk: ‘Oh, He was a great Master, He was an Avatar….’ What is the use? Master does not need any of this nonsense. He came here to raise the consciousness. Whatever you do, which is not in tune with that, is of no use. Bhagawan once said: “After staying in this body for 80 years, people still have not understood me! Even if I live for another 80 years, it will be of no use.” Once on Shivaratri he said, “Why are you sitting in front me like a frog, looking at me?“ This expressed his anger. It is very unlikely that he will use such words. Bhagawan is very compassionate. He talks in a very mild and soft manner. He then said: “Go home and serve selflessly in your place.”

Many people have left their homes and are staying in Puttaparthy to be around him. And interestingly enough, Baba often keeps extremely arrogant people around him all the time. They are rude and aggressive. Did I tell you this story? This is a story that I have heard. Bhagawan had a driver who served him for 20 years. This driver was a rude and angry man. When someone would come to Baba, he would shout and antagonize them. Some people got really affected by this behavior of his. They thought, “We are coming to see Bhagawan from far and wide, and this fellow throws us away. Can something be done?” They asked Baba. Baba did not say anything. Bhagawan tolerated the intolerance of his driver. After 20 years, one day Baba told him: “You have completed your job. Go home in peace, I will take care of you.” The driver left. Someone then asked Bhagawan: “Why did you keep such a rude man as a driver for so long? He does not reflect your stature at all.” Bhagawan answered: “I stayed with him for 2 days while I was in Shirdi Baba’s body. I repaid that debt.” Understand, karma works for an Avatar too. He did not erase it. He continued with the flow.

Mohanji continued: Have you been to Puttaparthy? You could experience rude behavior from many people there. Of course, there is a dire need for good security. Everything is done on account of security. But, our ego many not enjoy us being suspected, treated like a terrorist!!! You may think – is this necessary? Is this what I have come here for? Did I come here to experience this kind of treatment? Why do we experience this at the abode of such an enlightened Master? This is especially so, with Westerners.

But there are reasons for this. One is; these people have irritable characters. They are an irritation for society, and so Bhagawan collects such people and keeps them near him and thus saves the society. Being in the vicinity of Bhagawan, these people benefit a lot. They undergo tremendous inner cleansing.  Another strong reason is, people visit Bhagawan with eagerness and inquisitiveness to see a Guru. All are coming from different walks of life, with EGO. Through these irritable people, Bhagawan bashes the ego of people coming to visit him. The volunteers around Baba never care about the social status of the visitors. They scold them and impose rules on them indiscriminately. People may think, “What is this? What kind of people are these?” But if you are sincere, you will survive all that and reach Bhagawan.

You may reach the entrance of the hall and be told that, oh, cameras/purses are not allowed. Books are not allowed inside. Ooops! You will have to go back to your room and leave them there. Within that time, you may miss Bhagawan’s darshan. One may feel that a day is lost. Next day, Bhagawan may not come. If you have come there, amongst your busy schedules, for two days, your full program may get spoiled. Expectation is cut from the root. A big churning! A big shake up. You may get disappointed. Your ego is thrown down in the trash. However, if you think “If I see Bhagawan, it is fine”; or, “If I do not see Bhagawan, it is okay for me,” – if you nullify your ego and just let go, then probably Bhagawan may come and touch you, or may even call you for an interview!

So, the biggest gift one can give to a Master, is to live his teachings. This is also the best way to understand the Master. Otherwise, a visit one pays to the Master was just a picnic. If you are not living His teaching, nothing has shifted in your consciousness.

Nothing is a tragedy. We cannot pray that Bhagawan should remain in his body because this is up to him. He has come for a purpose and He very well knows his purpose. He also knows when to leave. It is our selfishness to ask Bhagawan to stay in the body
. When He has achieved his purpose, is it worthwhile to ask him “Stay in body for a few weeks more!” We do not know the larger mission. Those who want to understand Him, will understand Him by not meeting Him also. Knowledge is useless unless converted into your daily life’s experience. If life has not improved due to additional knowledge, it is just another burden in your existence. If the food that you consume gets digested, it helps your health. If it is not digested, it only upsets your stomach, your equilibrium. It is like, how much food can you digest without getting indigestion. If your stomach cannot digest food, it has no value.

The consciousness is permanent. It is not situational or conditional. Have faith and intensify FAITH. Then there is no fear. Faith will give you tenacity and toughness to go through all the situations. Express deep gratitude. Mean it, feel it. Live the teachings of your Guru, if you Love Him deeply, sincerely.” Mohanji went into silence again.

I also would like to mention with reverence that, meditation followed by this message was extremely intense and there was magnificent presence of Bhagawan Sathya Sai during the meditation, which everyone felt. The intense energy flow and the Shaktipat moved all of us. Interestingly, Mohanish who was also conducting ‘Power of Purity’ meditation in Pune at the same time, felt clear physical presence of Sathya Sai to the extent that he naturally bowed down to Him. Mohanish had no idea that Mohanji has been communing with Sathya Sai Baba all through the Thursday meditation. Such is the Leela of Sathya Sai and Mohanji.

The BTW family offers love and prayers to Bhagawan Sathya Sai by sending this message and living his teachings of love and truth.

With Loving Regards,

Deepali.
