Q&A Power of Purity meditation – Signs of ‘unhooking’

profile

Welcome to Mohanji Speaks.

Hello, my dear friends. Today, I would like to answer a question, connected to our Power of Purity meditation. What are the signs of unhooking? One of the key purposes of the Power of Purity meditation is to unhook from the past; from the bindings, from the attachment and from anything which prevents you from progressing in your connection with yourself. So unhooking is one of the primary aims of the Power of Purity. We unhook from various things.

The question is, “What are the usual effects of unhooking?”

I’ll give you certain thoughts, upon which you can ponder, expand, and also check within to see if some of these things have happened to you. If yes, it means that you have actually done this meditation, with full concentration and full application.

So, here is the science of unhooking: primarily, there will be overall mental freedom. You will feel free when you forgive and forget the past. There is no way that we can feel free when we are burdened by the past.

Forgiving and forgetting are essential for our own sake. The Forgiveness Process that we have created and uploaded on the website is because it is essential to move forward in the path of liberation.

Similarly, the Power of Purity meditation will help you release many of those bindings and hooks from the past and keep you steady and going in the Path of Liberation. So you will feel overall mental freedom; the past is buried and settled, or the past is well disposed of. You are free in the present, and the future will be better.

The second point is that you will refrain from judging, interfering, criticizing, gossiping, and scandalizing people at any point in time. Because you will know that all are carrying their own burdens, and you have nothing to do with it. You are carrying your burden of the past, your burden of desires, your burden of anxieties and fears; you’re carrying so many things. But so is everyone, all people.

So, why do we compare? Why do we judge? Why do we criticize another? We are the same, in different forms, but we are the same. We are all a bundle of patterns; we are all a bundle of desires and a bundle of inclinations and tendencies. Everybody is the same; nobody is immune to any of this. Then why do we judge, criticize compare, and compete? We will stop doing all that, that’s a clear sign of progress.

We would not care too much about material possessions and positions. We will have them; we will enjoy them; we will appreciate them. We will be fully involved in them, but at the same time, we will have clarity that they are all temporary.  Time brings things; time takes things away. So we will not be too happy, nor will we be too disappointed. If we give too much importance on things temporary, the result is a disappointment. So when you continuously, consistently, practice the Power of Purity, you may not have many disappointments.

Another aspect is, you will have deep remembrance of higher purpose. That means, what is real for you in this lifetime? Is it just what it seems to be? Is it this illusory world, where you have possessions and positions? Or is there something better you can do in life? At least that thought will come. What exactly am I supposed to do? And the answer also will come. What capacity do you have? What skill or knowledge or experience do you have? What disposition do you have? What kind of motivation you have? You will work accordingly.

It is incomparable; some people have great motivation to do great work on Earth; some have medium motivation to do some work on Earth; some people will have no motivation. So, they have to follow a master, or they have to follow guidance from somebody, and they have to walk in the steps, which are suitable for them. And the people who have medium motivation also should be associated with something that will motivate them to do more. Those who have great motivation can lead other people to the right way of life.

Another aspect is self-inspiration, just for the sake of it; Self-inspiration for doing great things in the world. Whatever your field is, you can do well in your own chosen field. You can do well in your own life. You can perfect yourself as much as you can, in your own life. Actually speaking, we have limited time on Earth, and we do not have the luxury of expanding or contracting our time. So, what is the best thing to do? Be inspired to do your best every day; self-inspiration. Self-inspiration also comes when we are unburdened from the past; when we are not prejudiced. We are not sitting around, and gossiping about people, talking bad, character assassinating, and contaminating our inner space. When we do not do such things, we have self-inspiration; we will be focused on what we can do for this world or give to this world, share with the world

Self-motivation, that is one of the advantages when you’re unburdened, unhooked.

Another aspect is deep acceptancealong with it (unhooking) comes the acceptance of everyone and everything. In other words, we are contented with what we have. It is this feeling of gratitude with what we have, and we feel good with everybody and everything.

It’s not that you become a doormat and accept all the hits and wears and tears from society. Instead, it is simply through deep acceptance of yourself and everybody and everything around you, will be contented; you’ll be happy. This happens when you unhook from the past. This is another point.

We have our complexes – inferiority complex, superiority complex, all sorts of complexes. Along with those, we have our fears; we have our anxieties; we have prejudices; we have patterns; they become simplified. Many of them dissolve or at least reduce. You can see the patterns reducing, its impact is less, and you can feel a difference, some lightness in yourself.

Then, another effect is reconciliation with oneself – the past, the people from the past. As I said when you unhook, you are reconciled. You accept things as they are. You remove guilt; you remove regrets; that makes you light. When you bless people, when you unhook yourself from all those things, of the past, which are unnecessary to maintain; this means you don’t have to maintain them; when all these things are unhooked or removed, reconciliation happens, and you will feel light and beautiful

You feel good inside. You will feel the beauty of yourself, within yourself. And essentially, because the past is all reconciled, you will live in the present time. And that’s the only time you have; the future has not yet happened – the present, this here now. And that’s what you have; you will be fully in the present, no regret, no guilt; no anxiety over the future, either. That’s a very great feeling; feeling light; feeling pure; feeling good.

And when you are reconciled with yourself, and you’ve accepted yourself fully, you will feel one with all materials and beings around you, people around you. Times and states, emotions and various flavours of life, will be fine with you because you will experience everything as you are, with full capacity, and you know very well whatever has come, will also go. Nothing stays forever.

The understanding of impermanence will help you a lot in saving yourself from disappointments. So, you will experience that.

Once the mind is settled, the mind is not disturbed; the mind is not ridden by regrets and guilt, fears and phobias, likes and dislikes prejudices, comparisons, a feeling of injustice in life. When all these things have settled and are removed, you will start connecting more and more to your soul principle, S-O-U-L principle, which is the driving force within you. That is the most silent, the most permanent aspect of you. You will start experiencing the soul principle, better.

Another aspect the society may notice in you is because you have reconciled with yourself, you have become a full unit, and the corresponding power and presence increase. When you are not distracted, when you are stable, when you are aligned, your power and presence increase multiple folds. And this will be reflected in the society; the society will see it. The society will experience a change and transformation in you, and you will definitely shine bright. This can happen only when you practice it consistently, every day, or maybe even twice a day, if possible. And you should have the conviction that there is bound to be a great transformation.

Let it take time, but it will happen, eventually. When you have reconciled with yourself, when you’ve accepted yourself when you have accepted the world around you, you will be filled with humility, gratitude, compassion, and you will not pretend anymore; no pretensions. You have no artificiality; you are not artificial at all, because you are yourself. You are well-grounded. There is no burden of the past, such as regrets, guilt, and no burden of the future, which are anxieties, fears, phobias, and prejudices. You have accepted yourself. You accepted society. You have unhooked yourself from all the bindings. There is no hypocrisy anymore. There are no masks anymore. There’s purity written well on your face. There is confidence. Powerful presence. Thus if you’re unhooked, you will live in freedom. You will love; you will be totally romantic because life is an eternal, divine romance. It’s not a man – woman romance. It’s romancing the entire existence. Seeing the beauty of love in every creation; the beauty of love, within you and outside of you, everywhere, and you will see bright, look bright, you will be bright and shining all the time.

I hope this is clear, there is much more to it, but I think this is sufficient for you to understand what unhooking means and what unhooking will give you as a gift.

Lots of love. This is Mohanji for you.

Inertia

Mohanji smiling

Welcome to Mohanji Speaks.

Most people have a problem with inertia. They suffer from inertia and it leaves regrets, guilt, disappointments, and even depression. Inertia is the root cause for most of these things. What are the major causes for inertia, apart from habitual or the matter of disposition?

One is overindulgence in materials such as food, sex, computer games and stuff like that or any kind of addiction which makes you dull and lethargic. Inertia is very common. And because of inertia, many opportunities are lost. People lose opportunities because of personal issues such as inertia or lack of will, lack of confidence, lack of self-esteem; they are all interconnected. This leaves behind regrets, guilt, and depression. Inertia should not be left unattended. We need to understand the root cause; and in today’s world, so many people are addicted to food as an escapist attitude (part of escapism), over-eating, overindulgence, worrying about food, poverty consciousness; all these are connected to inertia. Indulgence in sexuality, pornography; those kinds of things also are connected to inertia or they leave behind an attitude of laziness. Laziness, postponement, inertia – they are all one. Postponement is a sign of inertia. We tend to postpone things; we tend to avoid things which are necessary, and we tend to roam on matters which are insignificant, relatively insignificant. But the important things which need attention are unattended. How can we overcome this? One is moderation. That means moderate eating, moderate indulgence, good exercise; activities which are positive by nature, filling our minds with positive thoughts, positive words and positive actions; motivational information and consistent involvement in things positive.

Inertia

Inertia can easily be tackled with clarity of purpose. The purpose should be of higher nature such as selflessness, selfless activities, charity; the kind of things that inspire us. Self-inspiration is an antidote for inertia. Self-inspiration is an antidote for regrets, and guilt as well. Self-inspiration should have the basis of clarity of purpose. It needs a very strong basis. If the base is not strong, you can’t build on it. There should be a strong base, clarity of purpose on truth, on regenerative, rejuvenating purpose; and that will lead to confidence, good self-esteem and determination. Determination is connected to motivation.

What is the matter that motivates us? Motivation is individualistic, and it’s nontransferable. Your motivation will be unique to you; the things which you like will be unique to you. There could be similarities, but nobody is the same. We must observe ourselves, our nature; what are we made up of, what makes us happy, what motivates us; we acknowledge that. If we nurture our strengths and support it with corresponding actions, we can easily come out of our inertia.

There are times when we have to do certain things in life because we do not have an option. Then, it’s important that we explore that activity, instead of rejecting or resisting the activity. We explore all the possibilities of that activity and start liking it. Through exploration, you can find dimensions of that activity. Every activity has major dimensions, not the obvious dimension. Looking at something and saying, “Oh! I don’t like it” that leads to inertia, that gives room for inertia. Instead, we look at something and say, “Okay. Let me explore it, there could be something in it for me.”

If the time has given you this opportunity; time has given you its dimensions as well. In every opportunity, there are numerous dimensions. If we put our mind into it, if we apply deeply into it; we will start exploring or understanding or registering or seeing various options, various dimensions. That is good for tackling inertia.

Mohanji speak

Inertia is not a bad idea. If you diagnose yourself as having inertia, it’s up to you to find the cure. Clarity of purpose, determination, discipline; they are essential for the cure of inertia. When you feel lazy or sleepy, immediately jump up and get involved with a positive activity. Then, do not blame others; blaming helps inertia. Criticizing, judging or comparing; these are food for inertia. Do not compete in a negative way with anybody outside, that also can lead to disappointments, depressions, and inertia. It’s important to understand that you are the doer in this case; you can tackle inertia easily. You can come out of it easily by understanding, accepting that there is an element of inertia, laziness sitting in you. Then ask yourself, “If I regulate my food habits will that help? If I increase my exercise patterns, physical activity, will it help? If it’s a combination of some of these, will it help?” You can find a way to get out of your inertia. Nobody needs to tell you this.

If you indulge in negative activities, it adds up to inertia. If you indulge in anger, hatred, jealousy, gossip and all those things, it will leave guilt. That will add up to inertia and also lack of self-esteem, which is actually a sign of inertia or a product of inertia. Instead, do good things, be good, be altruistic, and then you will easily come out of inertia; you will be free from inertia. This is something which is a good thought or food for thought. You can find your way out of this easily, effortlessly. Nobody is always bound by inertia. There are sparks of activity which takes you out of inertia; you can cultivate it easily – purpose, clear purpose, higher purpose, clarity of purpose, determination, discipline and self-motivation.

If you really want to compete in life; compete with yourself, not with others. If you really want to compare, compare it inside. “Am I better than yesterday? Am I doing better? Is there something working for me?”

That way, you can improve. Don’t look at the outside world, compare and get disappointed. You are yourself; you are unique. You are a unique creation. This life should not be wasted. This life is not just to sleep and while-away. This life is to experience your highest truth. And for that, there should be an initiative from inside, from within. Self-initiative, you should initiate yourself, you should bring yourself to that level; determination, discipline and take all the regrets away. There’s no need to have regrets or guilt. If you are in the present, this is the only time you have. Operate in the present. Do your best in the present. Forget about the past. Don’t look at the future. Do your best now, right now. Right now is your time! I leave you with this thought.

This is Mohanji with you. Lots of love.

Which are you? Fixed or flexible mindset?

Mohanji3

Hello friends. This is Mohanji.

Hope you’re doing well and hope you’re digesting the subjects that we had chosen in the last few podcasts and hope they are helpful to you. Today, I was thinking of taking up a subject which you can use as food for thought.

The subject is a mindset. Mindset is not an easy subject, because it’s not easy to put the mind structure into compartments. But it’s important because that is the advantage of understanding ourselves more so that we can remove all the clutter and we can bring clarity. This is the advantage. The more clarity we have, life will be cleaner; life will be better. Otherwise, confusions and clutter can take over.

images

So, what are the major mindsets that we see in this world? Let’s categorize them into two. One is a fixed mindset, and the other is a flexible mindset or a growth mindset.

The fixed mindset, they usually avoid challenges, they don’t like challenges. Then they hate changes, they like fixed routines. If any change happens, even if it’s a change in material like food on the table, they become unhappy, they become upset; their life pattern changes. So, they can’t leave patterns. They are very, very bound to patterns. They hate changes. They also think they can do very little to change the situation. Then, they do not like criticism, they don’t accept criticism. If somebody comes and tells them, “Look here, why don’t you make a difference in your life? Why don’t you try this? Why don’t you try something new?”, they can’t accept it. Because they are sure what they’re doing is the right thing. And they won’t look at a person or any friendship or any connection favourably if they are starting to interfere in their life. For example, if somebody tries to correct them or makes a change in their life for the better, even that will not be accepted because they don’t like an intervention. They want to stay in their own comfort zones, they are very, very afraid to leave that comfort zone, to leave their pattern. They only see obstacles. They see obstacles all the time because for them, “Oh, this is a problem, that’s a problem”; they always discuss problems. And they try to tell people that people are not right, the situation is not right, problems are happening, like that they will always think about problems. Then they also feel that putting efforts are useless because life happens anyway. Why do you put a lot of effort? This is a fixed mindset. A lot of people are like that in the world. They just live and die. Anonymous, we won’t even see them, because they have a fixed mindset, and they are kind of like how the animals live; the routine life. That’s it. If anything just happened in their life, they are upset. They don’t like changes.

Mohanji1

Now we look at the flexible mindset. They welcome challenges. “Bring it on”, you know, that attitude. And they embrace changes. When changes happen, they just melt into the changes. Then they think everything is possible. There is nothing impossible in life, they think impossibility is an illusion, we can do it. If somebody can do it, we can do it. If there’s a thought, we can make it happen. If there is a firm wish or a desire, it can be accomplished. They treasure feedback and would learn eagerly; they like to have feedback. They ask, “What do you think about this?” or “Can we improve on it?” and they use everything, or every faculty, or every connection so that they can improve in some way. So, every day, they think about what else can we do? How we can improve this? How we can make the standards better? It’s not maintenance anymore. They are builders, they can build. They don’t worry about what’s already happened. But in their mind, they’re always thinking, “What else we can do, what else can happen?” So, they are always on a mode of improvement, or they try to upgrade everything. So, they like feedback, and they want to change things in a positive way. They love exploring new things and they look at results. Their focus is, “This is my aim, I want to reach there,” and they reach there. Obstacles on the way, it doesn’t matter. There will be obstacles, there will be detours in life. No problem. They keep moving. And every failure for them is a lesson.

success

So, this is approximately how a person with a flexible mindset thinks. It’s a good thought for us so that we understand where we stand, you know. So, there are a few things which we can check to see where we are in these two categories. Are we from the category of a fixed mindset, or are we from the category of a flexible mindset? So, a few things you can look at is; are we lazy? How do you measure that?

The time when you wake up, and the time when you get up. So when you wake up, if you’re lying in the bed thinking about “Oh my God! It’s morning again.” That’s a lazy attitude, means purpose is not very clear. There’s no clarity of purpose. This is one of the signs you can look at. That’s why we started the Early Birds Club with definite clarity. When you wake up, you are sharp, you have a fixed schedule so you can wake up and you can go through the process so that laziness, the tamas part can be slowly taken away. Please don’t underestimate tamas. Tamas is a very, very dangerous thing. It’s like cancer, we wouldn’t even know that it’s existing inside until and unless we become completely paralyzed. That’s why the Early Birds Club I’m stressing on and I’m telling people to try that because you know, that way you can change your mode from a lazy or a fixed mindset to a flexible mindset, and also attain a lot of success in life. Our aim is to create successful people; positive people. For positivity, you need to have a positive lifestyle.

So, are we lazy? Secondly, are we restless and distracted all the time? That means we do not have a stable mindset, stability is affected. If you are restless and if you are distracted all the time, the mind is like a monkey jumping from one branch to the other. We are disappointed with so many things; we are distracted in various ways. Then it is time we get to something which inspires us from within; concentrate on it. This is important.

So, what can we do about it? We can try to find something which is self-enhancing; self-rejuvenation, self-inspiration, this kind of thing, which would be a thing connected to your nature, and your own inherent constitution, how you are made. It is based on your inclination, your tendencies. That’s what’s suitable for you. Cultivate that thing, then you can improve on it, but it should be something positive. Not something negative, which is draining or which costs a lot of money or efforts and stuff like that. Whatever is natural will be effortless for you. So that’s the right thing to do. Usually, if you are preoccupied with unimportant things, for example, some people are just addicted to WhatsApp or Facebook; they waste the whole day like that. Some people are addicted to games on the computer. Some people have other material addictions and all kinds of things.

So, our waking hours, how best are we using? If we are preoccupied with the not so important things that detach us and deviates us from the actual purpose of life, then we must correct it. Because, what are you here for, what is your actual purpose? Let’s say, if your purpose is liberating yourself completely so that you are fine with life, you’re not in conflict with life, you’re very stable with life, you’re enjoying life, you’re accepting life, you’re respecting life, and then, respecting all the people connected to you. You’re not discriminating, you’re not criticizing, you’re not trying to push people away, you’re accepting everybody, you’re kind of walking with them and you’re in a mode of liberation. Let’s say, a mode of liberation means a lifestyle of liberation. In that case, don’t wander on insignificant things. We must understand that they are not helping us to progress.

But recreation is fine once in a while, we can watch a feature film, we can have a good dinner outside. I’m not saying that we avoid all our happiness, all our enjoyments. We should look at, are we spending a lot of time on unimportant things?

positivity

Another thing is, is our energy flow proper? How does energy flow become proper? First of all, if you indulge in positive things, positive thoughts, positive words, positive action, energy flow will be good. Secondly, if you are involved in activities which you love to do, energy flow will be good. But what you love to do should adhere to your goal of life. This is very important. What you love to do, should not be something which wastes your energy, like indulgences and addictions. Many people spend a lot of time on addictions, even though energy flow might be good, but it’s not positive.

Then another point is, your thought process, you have no control. Where are the thoughts coming from? Thoughts are coming from inherent inclinations, so be aware of that. And if you’re able to regulate and guide them to the goal all the time; or as we mentioned earlier, our goal is liberation. If our thoughts are all going towards that goal, you’re on the right track because you have set a goal, you’ve set your destination right. So, if you’re travelling in that mode, and your energy flow is in that mode, your thoughts are in that mode, you are absolutely on the right track. This is all you need to do.

Now, I would sum up so that it becomes food for thought. All these ingredients we have to cook together and make a nice, tasty curry. So, first of all, analyze, where you stand. Do you have a fixed mindset or a flexible mindset? Secondly, how do you know where you stand? We have explained, various options for it. We can explain more later but this I don’t want to elaborate too much. And thirdly, this understanding will help you to correct yourself to the right track.

So, there are more things, we will talk about next time. I leave you with this thought at this point in time. Let’s understand, and let’s assimilate, and let’s improve ourselves in the right way. I leave you with these thoughts. Be happy, and be bright, the world needs light.

Lots of love.
