Limiting beliefs

namaste

Welcome to Mohanji Speaks.

Hello friends. Today, I have been thinking about our limiting beliefs. I think I have already told you about the story of how a wild elephant is tamed by the trainers to use them in various capacities. The first and foremost is that freedom is limited. In the wild, they are wild and free; they can do whatever they want. They roam around as they like, and elephants usually live in groups, they are social beings, very intelligent beings. When an elephant is caught, it’s tough to discipline it. What these trainers do is to tie a very tight rope on their hind legs and leave them like that. The elephant does its best to break free, pulling at the rope all the time. And it starts getting injuries because of friction. The frictional injuries start to grow as the days go by. The trainers do not try to heal them; they just leave it like that. And the pain would be tremendous; continuous and consistent pain because of injuries in the hind legs. Then and the elephant stops pulling it because it hurts when it pulls. The elephant drops it and doesn’t pull anymore. It understood that these ropes could not be broken. And if he pulls, it gives pain and suffering. So, the elephant surrenders.

Afterwards, the tame elephant is used for various entertainments or utility matters. But they are tame; they obey the tiny human much lesser in size, and much lesser in strength than itself. But the initial limiting belief, which the trainers were able to give the elephant, stays on forever. Limiting beliefs are the point. We all have limiting beliefs, just like this elephant. Some traumatic memory from the past, its corresponding agony, the feeling, the helplessness and associated emotions and memories that we carry leads us or binds us with our limiting beliefs, and it works through the whole life.

We shy away from many things of life. We fail to achieve only because of our limiting beliefs. This is the truth. We must understand that all these limiting beliefs apart, we are as wild, free and strong as a normal elephant would be in the forest. We should be successful in our daily life. And we should also be a significant part of our society by delivering as per our capacities positively to society. Sometimes these limiting beliefs are so hidden that we don’t even recognize them. It needs introspection, needs contemplation.

How many times, how many situations we could not handle because of our limiting beliefs? Try to understand. Sometimes limiting beliefs are given by our parents, our teachers or society. Sometimes limiting beliefs are given by religions; all of them create an almost similar effect. We have seen that over history. Limiting beliefs have taken away great opportunities for great progress in human existence. This is very important to understand, limiting beliefs exist, and limiting beliefs are really, really important to understand and come out of.

We are supremely powerful. Nothing can stop us from doing our good work in the world. I always tell my people, the people who believe in me, we are powerful as a team, and our intention is always pure. We do not want to harm anybody; we have no violence in us; we do not have anger, hatred, jealousy, revenge in us, because they contaminate our inner space. We only have love; we have compassion; we have kindness. This is very strong. And these are very powerful. Compassion is powerful; kindness is powerful.

To have the strength and to have discipline – power without discipline can create havoc. Power without discipline creates atomic bombs which destroy an entire race. We saw the devastation that happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But today, we have much larger, much more destructive atomic capacities with us to wipe out entire mankind. We must observe restraint, we must accept love, and we must be compassionate and kind. Just imagine having great strength, great power and exercising great kindness, how it will be. It can be very transformative for the entire human race. Having great power, and having great strength and capacities, but using it for dividing, harming, or destroying, literally shakes the root of our species.

Nature has given us all the options. Nature has given us everything. And nature continues to provide us, to experience and execute it. We have to be realistic. We have to be responsible. And we have to lead a life of purity and harmony, like one of those great Lamas, who was arrested and imprisoned and tortured by the Chinese authorities after they invaded Tibet. When he was released, he told about his time in the prison. Apparently, it was very torturous; it was very disturbing for him, for his equilibrium, because they tried their best to break him down. As always, as a prisoner of war, he was tortured almost every day for 25 years.

When he was asked, did you have fears, he said yes because a truly spiritual person will have no fears. There is no room for fears. If you’re really walking the path of purity, you should be fearless. God can be loved because God sits in you as your soul factor. God is to be loved; God is love. So, Lama said, I had fears. Three times it appeared in the canvas of my mind. Each time it was the fear that I may end up hating the oppressors, the guys who are torturing him. And that can cause inner contamination. I didn’t want anything to do with inner contamination. That fear happened trice.

To maintain the purity, you need constant vigil. You’ve got to make sure every day, every moment that anger, hatred, jealousy, revenge, or any emotions which are draining and negative by nature should not enter your mind. You should be free from all that. This is important. This is vital.

Fear binds you, so you must practice fearlessness. Anything which gives you the fear of anything should be avoided because one fear leads to another fear. Fear binds, and fear distorts our vision. It’s important to know to understand that we are born free, and we have every right to exercise our highest potential and possibility of existence while we are living on Earth. Life has got to be lived. Life has got to be experienced. Life has given us an opportunity to attain the highest possibility of human existence. We must make use of that, not existing like bricks on the wall. It’s living a full life. We have the capacity, and we have the ability.

I’ll leave these thoughts in your plate today. Contemplate on it and discuss it.

Lots of love. This is Mohanji.

We are the World

Mohan

Hello, my friends, welcome to another episode of Mohanji Speaks. I hope you have enjoyed the previous episodes and hope you have discussed them with your friends. Probably some clarity would have happened inside. That was the intention.

Now, here we talk about a new thought. This is the thought that many of us have asked ourselves. What is this world? Who are we? What am I? All these things. The point that we would like to discuss here today is, we are the world. The world is us. I’ll explain.

There are numerous expressions on Earth. All the human beings, all the species, Nature, the plants, the trees, the animals, the birds, the water, the air, the sun, the moon, and all the things that we see around are expressions. All these put together is the variety of life. We are also an integral part of that, we as human beings, as a species, and we as individuals. We are all an integral part of this whole existence. This is what we are talking about today. Who is the world? What is the world? We are the world.

role

We all have a role to play. This role that we play must be with full awareness, or this role must be understood with full awareness. If we don’t understand this role clearly, we are almost operating in an unconscious mode. I think many of us agree with that. We wake up in the morning and we don’t know what to do. We do so many things mostly in an unconscious way, we do so many things just because we like to do it, or we are habitually doing it. It’s habitual, not that we really wanted to do that thing. We are habituated to have coffee in the morning or tea in the morning. We are habituated to have breakfast. These are all habits. If you take our whole life, we are mostly run by habits; that means subconscious. How much is the conscious mind at work? Very little. Because we are often not even aware of our activity, we are doing it in an unconscious mode, because we are used to it. Habits mean unconsciously, more or less, almost mechanically doing it. Multitasking is almost like unconscious because when you’re thorough with something you don’t have to really focus on it, you can multitask. But when you really have to focus on each action, you can’t, you can only do one thing. That’s the real work, that’s a real thing. A cluster of these activities put together is what we call life.

When we look at the whole world, when we understand the world, when we feel the world, we must also remember; we are the world, and our contribution is very important. Many people live and die; we don’t even know them. There are 7.5 billion people, many, many faces, many countries, many people, many types of people, but they’re all the same. We don’t even see them. We don’t recognize most of the people, we don’t see them. We recognize very few people in the world. And these people whom we recognize, whom we can call successful people or people who are known – they have invested themselves or invested in cleansing themselves or cleaning themselves to remove the clutter, and they have focused on an activity, which is close to their heart. And they’ve invested in an activity.

world1

When you invest in an activity, you should believe in it, otherwise, it doesn’t work. When you’re sure about an activity, it can be a profession, it can be an idea, it can be a concept – whatever you believe in, invest yourself totally. In 2003 when the newspaper people asked me, what’s your investment in Ammucare, I said, “Myself.” There’s only one thing you can really invest, yourself. And if you invest yourself totally with conviction, there’s no way failure can happen because Nature helps you. Nature LOVES people who have conviction. Most of us do not have conviction in our actions. If we have no conviction in the action, actions become so weak that they do not get the required result. In order to be successful in life, in order to express yourself in the world, in order for you to become the world to people, you’ve got to invest yourself. There’s no other way. Investing yourself is the best investment. But then you should believe in what you do otherwise it will all be vague. You should believe in what you do and invest yourself totally, and then you can see that you are actually progressing. Otherwise, we are procrastinating. Most of us do not go forward or we have disappointments because we have not invested ourselves in it.

Have we put ourselves fully in our actions? Have we really put ourselves in our actions, in our thoughts, in our expressions? If yes, success is just around the corner, for sure. Don’t worry about planetary positions; don’t worry about the likes and dislikes of the people around you. People may call you crazy, people may call you mad. People may agree with you, disagree with you, it doesn’t matter if you are sure about the activity that you’re doing. If you have full conviction over your actions, then nobody can stop you, you become a powerhouse. So that’s the real expression that makes you the world for a lot of people.

I’m leaving this thought on your plate. What is the world? We are the world! We decide how the world should be. Let us decide that the world should be harmonious. The world should have one religion, humanity. The best religion for the whole world of human beings is humanity. Humanity also means all-encompassing kindness, compassion, unconditional love, and selflessness towards all the beings of the Earth. All beings are the same on Earth. For Nature, for Mother Earth, there are no differences between beings; they are all using certain faculties of Mother Earth for their own gratifications as we do. So, we have no right to control, capture, manipulate, and destroy, anybody or any species, period. We must understand that all the species on Earth are interdependent and not for humans’ sake. That’s a very, very wrong thought – that this entire world is for us, one species; absolutely not. It’s for every species; we are all the same in the eyes of Nature.

We

So, harmony, humanity, nonviolence, these are the qualities which we would like to deliver into this world, as perfect human beings, as quality human beings, as powerful human beings. And that’s why we talk about getting up early in the morning as the Ayurveda says. Between 9 pm and 12 midnight, the body repairs itself. That means we must sleep at that time. The body needs sleep to repair itself. Between 9 pm to 12 is the right time to sleep for the sake of the body, the body repairs itself. Between 3 am to 6 am is the time when the mind repairs itself. So this is the time when you should get up. And you should feed the mind with good thoughts. When we do that, in that manner, we will see that the Earth is also better because we are healthy, we are balanced, and we give that balance to the Earth, to Mother Nature.

I leave you with these thoughts. Think it over, discuss it, share it with your friends. And let’s come out with something beautiful. Let’s nurture it, let’s perfect it.

I’m always with you and I love you. This is Mohanji.

Nature

mohanji1-1

Hello friends, welcome to another episode of Mohanji Speaks.

Today we will talk about nature. What is nature? Nature has two aspects. There are many aspects but let’s talk about two aspects. One is the nature within us. And the second is the Nature outside of us, which sustains us. First, let’s think about our nature. What is our nature? Our nature is a combination of so many factors, such as character, constitution, emotions, our disposition, even our form as well as expressions – all put together is our nature. Our nature has various dimensions, and we can only express or experience this world according to our nature, according to our disposition, according to what we are. Our nature is what we are. That’s essentially the whole life’s method or presentation. Meaning, we are living this whole life with this nature.

Now, we have Nature outside our nature, which is infinitely patient, always loving, always caring, and never asking anything back. But if the harmony is disturbed it suffers. When the disturbance becomes too much it gives one slap, one hit. And that could be quite detrimental. It could wipe out a species; we have seen that also in history.
The aspect of our nature is indirectly connected to Nature outside. Or what we are has a lot of importance to how mankind would be. If all individuals put together, live harmoniously on Earth, beyond caste, creed, country, religion, and culture, then there is a very big chance that we will sustain the Nature outside in a prolonged way. Its longevity will be more. But if we are greedy and we are displaying base emotions like anger, hatred, revenge, and all those things, then this will also reflect in the data in the world outside. The world outside is the expression of our nature. When we display this kind of greed and this kind of base emotions to the world, then Nature may take a stand at some point in time. It may allow a few generations to pass by. Then suddenly, it just shifts. Finished. Then, we have emptiness.

species

Nature outside does not really care for any species, even though it nurtures all species. It will not matter if one species does not exist in it, because that doesn’t matter to it. We need Nature, not that Nature needs us, this should be very clear. We need to tune up our nature, inherent nature, to suit the Nature outside. That is the whole point I’m trying to tell you. That means, we must tone up our nature sufficiently to connect to Nature outside, and we should be in harmony with Nature outside. And if we don’t, then it’s just a matter of time, it is just a matter of time before big catastrophes happen. During this coronavirus situation right now, while all are in confinement, the world is open for every other species. It’s a true sign of how Nature could work. Even if you say that this was a man-made calamity.

Look at the net result of this, it affected everybody. It affected all the human beings in the world, one way or the other and it will continue to affect because of the social and economic meltdowns and stuff. It will continue to affect for a long period of time. We must understand that the actions which we have taken, or the methods which we have used in the past have not been really conducive for a sustained existence, we might have prolonged our lifespan with our medicines or with our technology. We might have connected to people like we are connecting now through waves of energy. This is all good because these are all human innovations. But at the same time, has humanity risen up in the same way? Have we really tackled the looming danger of climate change? It’s affecting everybody. Or have we really tackled human interference into the forests and Nature, destroying and killing species indiscriminately to be happy? These kinds of things we must understand.

harmony

What has been our behavior pattern? This is very important to understand. When we wake up early in the morning, we must know this. What have our behavior patterns been all these years? We have ignored a lot of crimes to Nature while we have spoken a lot about things which are not really important, like cheating, stealing, we should eradicate all that. But we should not really overwhelmingly talk about it on media, who cheated on who, who siphoned money, and corruptions. All these are signs of human degeneracy, and that degeneracy is also reflected in Nature in the form of exploitation of Nature. Water, earth, the skies, everything is exploited.

It’s become difficult for every species to live on Earth. Who created this? We created this. Our nature has to be totally cleaned in order to connect to Nature outside so that we can live harmoniously. Otherwise, we will have problems, not only us, many, many species will have problems as we have seen. Thousands of species are extinct, forest fires, natural calamities, tsunamis, earthquakes, wars, and destruction of various kinds. Ethnic cleansing. What have we seen in life? If you look at history, mad conquests, disturbances, and displacements happened. These are all signs of a turbulent nature inside that’s causing the turbulence outside. So, nature inside has great value.

be natural

We really need to tone up our nature inside into compassion, kindness, and the highest of human values such as selflessness, this has to be happening while we are living every day, there is no tomorrow for this. Right now is the time, and accept people, encourage people who are doing good things in the world, for the people, for Nature, for ecology. Encourage them, support them, guide them, finance them, and help them. So that more and more people, more and more species are sustained. When everything is sustained, Nature sustains us. When we sustain Nature, Nature sustains us. When we do not pollute Nature, Nature does not pollute us. What we give, we get, what we sow, we reap.

With this thought on your plate, I leave you. Please do discuss it, please talk about this in detail, with all your friends, all the people. Try to share this information with people. This is food for thought. I’m not giving you any answers, you should find the answers; the answers are within you. There is no need for me to tell you what the truth is because you know it already. I’m just reminding you. So, share this, and then get this thought spreading in the mind so that we could probably see a better mindset for a better world. I leave you with these thoughts.

This is Mohanji. Thank you.

Practice compassion during coronavirus time

Image Mohanji

24th March 2020

Hello friends, this is Mohanji.

The nature has pressed a reset button. Nature is resetting the whole world, probably to its original state. We do not know as yet. And we don’t have to know because life is as it happens each moment. We do not know the future, nor do we usually know why certain things happened in the past. We think we know but we don’t know, really. We make conclusions based on what we understand or what we assume; based on assumptions. But we may not know clearly the reason. So, we don’t need to know the reasons as well for what’s happening now.

At this point in time, since nature has pressed a reset button, we must also press a reset button in our lives. Most of us are confined to our homes or places where we stay; movements are restricted, sources are affected, resources are affected. So, this is actually a time when we can go back to the essentials. We can look at what is essential and what is non-essential. Usually, in an unconscious existence, we do not have time for that. We just go as per our habits, as per our inclinations and tendencies. But at this point in time, when we do have time for ourselves, we can look at essentials and non-essentials and discard the non-essentials. That makes our life cleaner, more tidy. So this is a good time to press the reset button in our lives.

There is a word; a Sanskrit word ‘Karuna’. Karuna in Sanskrit means compassion. So, this is the time when we should express Karuna; compassion in the time of Corona. So, Karuna during the time of Corona that should be our attitude. We should be compassionate to the whole world, to our species, to everyone. And we should do whatever we can to enhance, to rejuvenate, to help reinvent the lives of people around us in a very pleasant way; with a lot of love, a lot of compassion – Karuna; and a lot of determination. There will be a lot of frustrations because people can’t move. They are at home. There will be a lot of anger and frustrations visible, anxieties. So this is the time to think again about what is causing all this. So, we have a lot of time for contemplation. We have a lot of time for introspection and we have time for reinvention.

images

I always used to say that at least every five years, we must reinvent ourselves; so that we remain fresh. But now nature has given us that choice, the time. We have to reinvent or we can complain and we can say that things are not right. Most of the things which are happening now are well beyond our control, so we also get to know how much we have in our control. With all our powers and all our efficiencies, we do not have much control. Nature has more control than us; nature has all the controls. So, this is a real time or a time which is actually real, which gives us reality.

So, I would like you to convey this message to all your people; all the people around. Tell them that this is a reset button pressed by nature, to realign the nature. We must also press our reset button to realign ourselves and during the time of Corona, Karuna is the right method – compassion and let compassion overflow through you to all the social media and reach everybody. Reach lots of people and make them feel good because we have almost accepted corruption, greed as natural; greed, corruption, and various emotions of human beings, unconscious emotions as normal. Now, we have time to understand it’s not normal to be angry, it’s not normal to be upset, to be insecure. We have to live with what we have, we can take away all the unwanted at this point in time and just go back to basics and what is really needed; that will make our lives cleaner. And we also understand what it means to be bonded; human bonding, family bonding, all these are happening now. Families together, you can’t go anywhere; you have to look at each other, talk to each other, have eye contact; this is a good time for that.

mohanji-on-being-original

So, there are a lot of positives in a time of Corona; during this time where Corona is a big scare, a fear. So, if you discount the fear; if you take the fear away or the fear factor away and look at life, there is something to do here; something for us to understand, something for us to assimilate.

Lastly, there are a lot of theories floating around why this happened. That’s not important. I always look at it this way, what is the effect? Why is not the usual thing? It is intellectualization; so many opinions, so many theories, so many things which confuse us. Instead, don’t look outside. Look inside. What is the effect? That’s the only way you can grow beyond. Because if you keep on justifying looking at theories, looking at reasons why this happened, you’ll not reach anywhere. You probably will get few answers maybe or maybe a few opinions, or maybe a few suggestions. But that’s not what we want.

life

What we need is reinvention; make ourselves better. We equip ourselves to handle life better, to have more control over our own emotions, and understand that whatever emotions we have if the nature presses the reset button, we become helpless. Nature is more powerful than us. We don’t have to call it God or religion or any other aspects. It’s not anything. It’s about man and nature, human beings and nature, the direct contact of a mother and son, mother and child; that kind of contact. So here, the mother is pressing the reset button and all the children have to do accordingly; to live accordingly, to change accordingly. So, it’s time to press the reset button in our lives. And this is the time to do that. If you don’t do that in this time, again we nurture our anxieties, emotions, anger, hatred, jealousy, all our usual habitual emotions; then we will not have much future. Now, we can stabilize; we can understand ourselves. We can assimilate ourselves. We can align ourselves. This is a good time.

Corona Virus – God given chance for transformation

March 21, 2020

Hello friends,

It’s been a few days since we have been experiencing a kind of forced confinement. We are all indoors and most of the other beings are outdoors. They are having a natural life; while we one species, human species is confined to stay indoors.

There is a big lesson to learn here. I can see that we are all busy praying that the situation ends. But we should be busy taking oaths and vows to change the way we live on this earth.  That’s the most important thing today. We have been living unconsciously, insensitively: using, abusing, misusing the natural resources without any remorse, without any guilt and the nature is paying back. Nature is giving us a choice, a chance to think, to understand, to change. So, this situation is not an ordinary situation.

World War III

They said that the world has never experienced such a standstill since the World War II. So, this could be considered as a World War III. But the World War III is not between human beings. It’s between human beings and nature. This is nature’s practical joke. It’s a practical joke. Nature put all of us inside, bound by fear and asked us to think, asked us to realize what we have been doing. What is the result of that? It is our insensitive lifestyle, our unconscious activities and our lack of understanding plus disconnection from the whole existence outside. So, nature is giving us a chance and a choice to understand and correct. So, this is not exactly the only the time for prayers; this should be the time for reinvention.

helpless

First of all, we need to introspect, contemplate and understand, we need to analyze and understand, we need to understand that all these years, we have used and abused this Earth, our space, the very space that we have to live and we have to hand over to the next generation. If you take the last hundred years, we have grown technologically but we have not grown in awareness. If you take the last 200 years, we have grown in industries and we polluted the Earth indiscriminately.

Land has become toxic, air has become toxic, and water has become toxic. Everything that is around us – all the basic facilities and faculties that we need to survive on Earth, in a very peaceful way, has become toxic because of man-made disasters or man’s unconscious existence, lack of understanding, or over emphasis on profits. These are the ways that we must change. We have to really think as so many things that we have done are irreversible. You can’t change that. It’s already happened. It’s done. Not possible to reverse, at least in the next couple of generations. And whenever in the past a species started becoming overwhelming, there were natural disasters, cleaning up, wiping away and creating new species.

So, this situation is very much possible for us if we live unconsciously: global warming, factory farms, pollution of various levels, toxins in the air, water and earth, living in square walls in square spaces; while human beings are multi-dimensional, we are confined to spaces which are square and rectangle which is again confinement; the walls that we created for ourselves: emotional walls, intellectual walls, physical walls, every type of walls that we have created around ourselves, isolating ourselves from the whole world. All these things are our own creation. So, this is a situation which the nature has given us to take time, stay at home and think, understand and correct.

Awakening

This is not exactly the time for prayers. You can pray, if you like for redemption, for better awareness, for better understanding. But this is not only the time for prayers; this is also the time for awakening. It’s extremely important. We must be aware. It is indeed a practical joke that the nature is now playing. The dolphins have come back to the lakes of Venice, swans and various birds, migratory birds are roaming free without any kind of fear of human intervention. So many birds, animals, various species are roaming around without fear. Whales are swimming in the oceans without expecting or without having to worry about somebody attacking and killing them. Every species on Earth has been harmed by human species. Every species on Earth is in danger, is in fear of one species, human species who kill indiscriminately, without reason.

We breed for the sake of our palates and we kill them for the sake of our palates. We don’t care. We have no remorse. We have no guilt. We even kill our own people, we wage wars for nothing. Knowing fully well or fully being aware that we can’t take even a pebble from earth when we die, we still try to make a lot of spaces for ourselves; just to satisfy our ego and when we die, we take nothing from here.

So, this is a race of unconscious living. Our race has been living unconsciously; this space and time is given, this situation is given, so that we are aware that we need to do something about it. When we decide to make drastic, lasting changes, or when we take good decisions to change, there will be lasting effect. We must live consciously. The answer is conscious living. The answer is being aware. The answer is being righteous, being compassionate, kind and selfless.

This is our future. This is exactly what we are. Think about it. It’s worth thinking. We’ll talk again later.

Thank you.
